We’ve been in the planning and prepping phase getting ready for serious renovations on our house, and it’s been difficult spreading my attention between house stuff, nursery stuff, and parenting an I Do/ runner of a toddler. Now the only things in our living room are a speaker, my wife’s workstation, and a chair, our daughter is helpful in the garden (if the gate is closed), and I’m basically prepped for market season which starts Saturday. I kinda feel like that last dollop of jam in the jar that’s probably not enough but the peanut butter has already been spread and this sandwich is happening no matter what. The anxiety has been keeping me from engaging with the online communities that I love, and that lack of interaction has honestly only compounded things.
So, I’ve missed you all and hope you don’t mind that I had to hunker down so much to survive the hardest adulting in my life.

If you can afford a babysitter every once in a while then it will give you much needed breaks.
Stressed but overall good. I started a new job at the beginning of the year and am definitely settled but now have too much going on! I’ve been mostly staying on top of all my organization strategies and nothing is falling through the cracks just yet. So that’s a win even if I’m behind on some personal deadlines.
Grats on the new gig. It’s never ending, always.
I can relate, and best of luck! Those personal deadlines start piling up when work gets overwhelming. Every now and then, remember to put work aside and take care of you - ya know, putting your oxygen mask on first before helping others (I’m trying to listen to my own advice here lol). I also started a new position at the same time and am settled in, but the real test begins when the next new project drops that’s due in October. You got this!
Oral surgery consult this afternoon was this crazy thing where they got me in early, and the doctor was done literally one minute after my appointment was scheduled to start. I’ve never experienced this in medicine.
Anyway, epulis removal scheduled for a week from Thursday, and the prosthodontist’s office has been informed of the timeline, though they already sent my moulds off to the lab. New teeth are in motion!
This is so exciting, and I imagine it’s going to be a huge life improvement! Looking forward to hearing about how they feel. :)
Late April and early May is nice. I always find the time between mid-March and mid-April stressful. There is always a bunch of tax and financial stuff then I have to get corn gluten put down on my lawn. Just a really busy time. I always kind of crash after that. So last week and this week has been really nice, though not that productive.
Today I woke up feeling whole.
