Rare Sinatra

There's something charming that a star with the heft of Nancy Sinatra has a website that looks like it was knocked together as a school project in the early years of the decade; even more charming is the news of Cherry Smiles.

It's a self-released collection of stuff that previously had only come out on dusty 45 RPM singles (they were dusty when they were delivered to the shops; it was in the contract). Obviously, Lee Hazlewood pops up, but so too does Ry Cooder and Duane Eddy. Digital-only, you can buy it at Amazon.

Rare Egyptians

Fancy hearing something by Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians you won't have heard before?

This is an mp3 of A Bad Case Of History, hitherto unreleased. Unless you count the websites which have probably beaten us to putting the track up.

It's turned up as part of the second box-set of Hitchcock stuff, Luminous Groove, due out on August 4th.

ReMew

Mew's Half The World Is Watching Me was released in a limited edition in 2000, and hasn't been made available since. Until now: it's going to become slightly less rare with them making it slightly available, through their own Evil Office label.

Box set or buy Ryan

Ryan Adams is preparing a box set full of stuff that has previously been unleaked to the internet, including two albums which haven't had a release before, and a lot of rarities. Of course, by the time it emerges in the autumn, he'll have gone and recorded more stuff, so there's still going to be a load of unreleased stuff laying about.
