IPC subeditors no longer dictate our youth; no longer IPC subeditors

IPC is IPC no more. The NME publisher is rebranding as Time Inc UK.

It's unlikely the new brand will ever inspire anything as glorious as this Clinic track, though:

A new video from the lovely, lovely Clinic. It's called I'm Aware. And it's directed by Super Furry Animal designer Peter Fowler:

Decade Null: 2001 - Clinic

"Sometimes good, sometimes bad - like Alexi Sayle" reckons a review on Amazon when considering Internal Wrangler by Clinic.

Um... yes. So this is more 'first-series-of-Stuff' than 'Dremel-advert-voiceover', on that basis: The Return Of Evil Bill:

Clinic in the clinic

Some bad news for Clinic fans:

Due to continuing illness the Clinic gig at The Hoxton Bar and Kitchen has been cancelled and is due to be rescheduled for next year. The promoter has started refund procedures with wegottickets and musicglue so all people who bought tickets will be contacted by the ticketing agent and refunded. Sorry to everybody who bought tickets, we were really looking forward to this.

This was supposed to be taking place on Thursday.

Clinic reopens

We love Clinic, and the appearance of something fresh on YouTube always sets our pulse racing faster: The new single, Tomorrow, for example:

Clinic laugh in the face of the Laughing Gnome

Clinic are, somewhat bravely, inviting requests from fans about what they should play on their forthcoming tour. Look where that got David Bowie, men.

They're also showing their generosity by giving away the new singe, Free Not Free, for Free: The official website has it all.

Booking some time at the Clinic

More good news from Merseyside: Clinic have lined up a spring tour:

08 / 04 Bristol, The Thekla
09 / 04 London, 229 Club
10 / 04 Brighton, Audio
11 / 04 Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
12 / 04 Manchester, University

Prior to that, they're doing a show for BBC Radio Merseyside. The recording takes place on February first; tickets are being given away to lucky winners of a mail-in contest on the band's website. More fun than Ringo Starr stood on a rooftop, innit?

Grammy extra

We managed to ignore our own post-it note when we covered the Grammys yesterday, and didn't mention the excellent and slightly discombobulating news that Clinic have been nominated for a prize. They're up for Best Alternative Music Album against fellow scouser Elvis Costello, Beck, Soundtrack of our Lives and, erm, Coldplay.
