Salon Finish!

The Salon took about 4 months to build.  It was a lot of work, but Dad is amazing and can do it all, thank heavens.
 Mister Handy Dandy.

Marcie painting the gold mirrors their new "shabby chic" look.

The new sign I painted, using one of our old kitchen cabinet doors.  I was very happy with how everything turned out.  It was truly a family project and we are grateful for all the help from so many people!
Nicole and Katelyn are one of our first clients!

Karston laying tile, and EK acting like all he did was hand out flooring. He did a ton, and was a huge help.

Summer Fun 2014

Lady and Leon...  Proud parents later on in this post....
Karston's brother Kyler and his girl Mary get married in the Gilbert temple...
Their reception is held in our yard...It was beautiful!

Love our yard in the summer time.
And Lady had 9 beautiful  puppies!  Marcie and Karston were thrilled and sold them all, making a nice profit.
Katelyn was in heaven!  They really were so very adorable!
 Canoeing at Woods Canyon Lake.

Spring 2014

Joshua is ordained a Priest on March 16, 2014!!  We are so proud of him.  (He likes to steal Karston's ties. Ha Ha.)
And later in March, at the beginning of Spring Break, Dad and Josh and EK start on Mom's hair salon!  The salon is going into the 3rd garage at our house, and the first step is to cut through the cement to the back of the garage to lay a new sewer pipe where the salon bathroom will be built.  This salon is something Mom has been wanting to do for a while... so here we go!   Dad graciously gave up his 3rd garage for his dear wife.  Now how many men would do that?  He's the best!
Pretty awesome trench!  Thank heavens for Home Depot tool rentals!
Putting up the outside salon wall where the rolling garage door used to be.
The first wall of the bathroom goes up!  The salon has to have a bathroom in order to be legal.
We took a trip down to the Gila Valley temple in April to be with my sister Karen and her family as her daughter Angela went through and got her endowments.  Diane and I and Marcie and Karston went.
 Beautiful couple.
Mom and Marcie in Mom's beloved Gila valley where she grew up.
Joshua ran track for the mighty Redskin Team, Spring 2014
 Marcie's birthday--May 11, 2014. We all love our Marcie!
And of course spring time wouldn't be complete without the infamous cardboard boat race at Patterson Ponds for Mrs. Burdick's physics class!  Porter and Josh.

Gilbert Temple Open House

2014 was a very good year!  Let's see if I can play catch-up on some highlights of the year.
The Gilbert, AZ Temple was dedicated on March 2, 2014.  We enjoyed going down for the open house, and seeing Eileen's sisters, Diane and Kelsey there and Ed's family.

Joshua

This is Joshua Leland Burgoyne!  He is our 6th child and we love him dearly!!
He is his mother's current favorite!!  He gets all the attention from mom and dad!
He is also the one we go to for all of our project help.  He is a great worker and is always willing to help out.  Here he is digging out the trench for the sewer line for the salon in March of 2014.
He is his dad's right hand man.  Here they are working on the salon for Mom and Marcie.
He runs track.  Look at that form!
He has great friends.  Here he is with Porter Richins building their Physics boat.
Putting it in the water at Patterson Pond.
And it even floated....for a little bit!
Josh loves his dogs, and takes great care of them.  Here he is with Lady and Leon.
Memorial Day 2014, with his sister, Marcie and her husband Karston, who are living with us for the summer!  We love them, even though Karston makes Josh get up at 5 am and go lift weights at the gym.  ha ha!

Making smores on Memorial day 2014 in the back yard.

Celebrating with his brother Jon, at his masters degree graduation from ASU, in May 2013.
He loves being an uncle to Isabella and his 4 other nieces and nephews.  He is so good with them, and they love their Uncle Joshy!
 He loves, loves, loves SOCCER!
And winning Ping Pong at the seminary bldg.  He is one of the best players there.
 He also loves seminary.

Most importantly, Josh comes from a large family who loves him tremendously!  He is our son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and all around happy, smiling guy.  We are so glad he is in our family!!
Love you Josh!
