Opinion: What Pagans can learn from Graham Platner

    By Guest Contributor | July 12, 2026

“Platner’s swift rise and fall mirrors the dynamics we often experience in Pagan spaces when a new cult of personality begins picking up steam,” writes Ryan Smith, examining how a lack of vetting harms both political and Pagan movements.

Opinion: Necromancy for Me, Not for Thee: AI, Catholic Anxiety, and the Pagan Scapegoat

    By Guest Contributor | March 10, 2026

As warnings about AI “necromancy” circulate in Catholic discourse, Pagans once again appear as the unspoken cautionary tale. But the real ethical concern may not be communicating with the dead, but consent, authority, and imitation.

Review: I Gave You Eyes and You Looked Toward Darkness

    By Guest Contributor | February 8, 2026

“If you’re drawn to folkloric density, ancestral memory, visceral horror that rejects comfort, or animist logic where houses and bodies blur,” writes Cosette Paneque in her review of Irene Solà’s novel, “this has power. But know what you’re walking into.”

    Card: Seven (7) of Swords

The week ahead is apt to offer opportunities for seriously re-evaluating who is allowed into one’s life and access to private and privileged information and assets. Not everyone has our best interests at heart, nor is everyone honest. There is no fault in requesting to see the receipt before paying the bill, as it were. Discernment and the ability to take strategic action when required are likely to be key this week.

Conversely, self-deception and a refusal to recognize and accept reality are unlikely to make anything better and are more likely to cause even more grief further down the road. Keeping secrets shrouded and hidden from others will eventually be revealed. The best way forward is to reveal any dark secrets and own them—particularly before someone else does.
