Out With A Bang Readathon

I definitely need to catch up on reading some books before the end of the year. And although I am terrible at these things, I am doing the Out With A Bang Read-A-Thon! It will run from now until the end of December, which goodness, I can't believe that the year is almost over!!!!

This list is not 100% definite or anything but here are some of the books that are on my list to read:

I Now Pronounce You Someone Else by Erin McCahan (to finish)
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma (to finish)
The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney
Rae by Chelsea Swiggett
The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson
Looks by Madeline George
When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Of course, I have swimming practice tomorrow, Thursday, and maybe Friday and if I don't clean my room my mom will kill me. I also have some other things that I must do before I go back to school on the 5th (why so short of a break!!!) but I am going to try to make it a goal to read at 7-10 hours each day during this readathon...

Good luck to all those doing it!

The Huge TBR Readathon

Kristen at Bookworming in the 21st Century is hosting The Huge TBR Readathon that started yesterday, Monday the 20th and will run until Sunday the 25th. I wasn't planning on doing this since I'm miserable at keeping up at readathons but I'll give it another go and this time only put down 6 books - my goal is to read one book a day and review each one by the end of the week. If I get done with these then I'll add more.
Books To Read:
Dancing in Red Shoes Will Kill You by Dorian Cirrone
Dramarama by E. Lockhart
Shug by Jenny Han by Louise Rennison
Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison
On The Bright Side, I'm Now The Girlfriend of a Sex God
Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols

Mini Challenges for Once Upon A Readathon

Here is where I'll be posting all my mini-challenges for The Once Upon A Readathon! The The Eager Readers challenge for part one was to post our favorite fictional characters. 3 of My Favorite Fictional Couples (in no particular order): Dexter and Remy from This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen Alice and Patrick from The Alice Series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Lily and James from The Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling Part 2 was to post a crossover couple you would love to see. This is hard for me! I don't like crossover characters but rather, I like seeing characters from the same book that aren't together already. Book Crazy challenge said:
We all have a favorite book, right? We all have a favorite character, right? What I want you to do, since I am a lover of all things music and photo related is to pick one - or both- and put them together!!
One of my favorite books is THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER the song that remains me of this book is Blackbird by The Beatles. Yes, this song is also a song that is mentioned in the book.
I Just Wanna Sit Here and Read challenge:
Rules!
~In a comment: 1. Choose a song (sung or instrumental) that represents a chapter that you are currently reading or have read during the read-a-thon thus far. If the book was turned into a movie, and this chapter was shown, what music would you want in the background to convey the emotion or environment.
2. List the book/author/chapter that you choose along with the song(s) you choose.
3. Give a quick synopsis about the chapter (No SPOILERS please!) or the circumstances that take place and why you chose the song to represent it.
1. The song I'm choosing is Schadenfreude from Avenue Q. Yes, the musical! WARNING: If you don't like cussing or crudeness or whatever, don't listen to this song. 2. The chapter I am going to use is from the wicked good book, The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau - Banks by E. Lockhart. 3. In order not to give away spoilers I am going to very vaguely explain why I chose this song. In this chapter Frankie Landau - Banks (who is a brilliant character) and another character talk about where they are at and mention that it remains them of the German word, schadenfreude. Happiness at the misfortunes of others (this is actually sung in the song, by the way.)
For Lauren's Crammed Bookshelf challenge she wanted us to write a review of the favorite book we've read so far. I'm planning on writing a review of all the books I read anyway, so I'll just link my reviews back here once I've written them. I didn't read any of my books until last night when I read The Disreputable History. This will probably be my favorite book, because I loved it SO much.

Once Upon A Read-a-Thon

Once Upon A Read-A-Thon
The Once Upon A Read-a-Thon starts tomorrow and runs through Wednesday! The great thing about this read-a-thon is there is no specific amount of books you have to read and you can go at your own pace! Here are the list of books that I hope to read:
Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols
The Dust of 100 Dogs by A.S. King (about 70 pages in)
Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger
*The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger Not going to read it, can't get the book in time.
I wasn't planning on reading the last two books but Audrey Niffenegger is coming to my city for an author event and so, I thought I'd go. Now I just need to buy those books!
The Summer of Skinny Dipping by Amanda Howells (about 30 pages in)
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli (about 50 pages in)
* I might not actually start The Time Traveler's Wife since the author event is really about her 2nd book.
EDIT: Won't be getting the TTTW until after the readathon is over. I did get Her Fearful Symmetry today, though!

48 Hour Book Challenge

I wasn't planning on doing this but I finally just decided to do the 48 Hour Book Challenge hosted by Mother Reader.
*Sorry that the titles are reversed!
The books I'll be reading:
Rules of Attractions by Simone Elkeles (also using for POC challenge)
The Impostor's Daughter by Laurie Sandell (also using for Graphic Novel challenge)
I'll be starting tomorrow at 7 AM and ending on Monday at 7 AM (Damn. I also start summer school, too! UGH) I hope I can finish all of these books by then! I also have to go to piano lesson, make time for a couple of runs (to get in shape for cross country practice on Tuesday,) and who knows what else.
