Music Video Monday: Giants

Welcome Back to Music Video Monday. It's been a long time, but I am going to get things back on track. And before I go too long into this, Happy Independence Day. This is year 241 of our Liberty as One Nation UNDER GOD.

We begin with We Are Leo (for the Righteous are as bold as a lion). This is Dimensions.

Next Up we have a somewhat older video, but it goes with a recent Album. This is Tauren Wells, formerly of Royal Tailor, but now on his own. From The recently released Hills and Valleys this is Love Is Action.
And Finally, for our last video we go North of The Border. One of The Night Beat's favorite Canadians, Valerie Anne Poxleitner, known musically as LIGHTS. From her upcoming album and graphic novel Skin and Earth this is Giants.
That does it for this edition of Music Video Monday. If you haven't already (my town has had an underwhelming celebration already), enjoy the Fireworks. Until next time, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

Music Video Monday: Want Relief? Love Somebody

Welcome back everyone. Hope You all had a wonderful Fourth of July Weekend. As long as you didn't get a sunburn (not too much of a problem this weekend, at least here in the Northeast) and didn't try to eat more hotdogs in 1o minutes than Joey Chesnut, you should be okay. Hope you enjoyed my Independence Day Rewind.

We've got three videos for you this week. We begin with DJ Maj. This is Broken.
Next up we rock out with Wolves at The Gate. If you can't stand the heat, then perhaps you need to go to them for Relief.
And finally, we close things out with some welcome relief, at least on the CCM Dance Floor. We welcome back Charmaine, who tells us to Love Somebody.
That does it for this edition of Music Video Monday. We will be back next week with all new videos. Until then, I am Awaiting Your Reply.

A Night Beat Classic: Stars and Stripes Forever - A Night Beat Fourth

If this were a normal Friday I would be doing a Classic Replay of a Flashback Friday, but since this is our 238th Independence Day, I thought I would give honor where honor is due and do a previous replay from the Fourth of July. Enjoy.

Happy Independence Day everyone. The United States is a spry 238 years old today. We may be the crazy, impetuous teenager among the nations of the world, but without us on the scene, God only knows how oppressive life on this planet may be.

The Fourth of July was always to be celebrated with fireworks, food, and parades. Even our Founders knew that. In that tradition, and since I can't light off fireworks at Night Beat HQ, I give you a MVM style 4th.

We begin with the Boston Pops and the 1812 Overture.
We Continue with the Marine Corps Band and Stars and Stripes Forever We Throw in a Fireworks display.

And conclude with another version of stars and stripes forever, this one more suitable to the refined sensibilities of Night Beat Readers. Have a Happy 4th of July. Happy Birthday America.

Stars and Stripes Forever: A Night Beat 4th

Happy Independence Day everyone. The United States is a spry 236 years old today. We may be the crazy, impetuous teenager among the nations of the world, but without us on the scene, God only knows how oppressive life on this planet may be.

Happy Republic(an)... er...Independence Day

Today is the 235th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, also known as Right Wing Extremist Republican Recruitment Day. If you don't believe me, believe U.S. News and World Report. Hey, If you can't trust Harvard, who can you trust. In related news, today is also the first anniversary of the first post of The WENC Night Beat.  Coincidence, I think not. I wonder which event gets liberals more perturbed. Back to Harvard University's study for a moment. I just thought the reason that I, when I first was able to vote, registered as a Republican and cast that vote for Reagan in 1984 was because I was raised correctly by my parents. Who knew it was all caused by my being taken to an Independence Day Parade to Celebrate our Bicentennial (That's 200 years for those who went to public school) in 1976.

If you know anything about our history, the study shouldn't be a surprise. In fact, the early celebrations of our independence were a religious, not secular, holiday. To quote John Adams "It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.  It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore."
So as you go to the Tea Party recruitment parades held throughout our glorious Republic this July 4th, let us try not to forget WHO the founding fathers thought was REALLY responsible for our independence.
