St. Nick's Day

So, Micah is pretty confused... He knows that St. Nick is a "nickname" for Santa so since St. Nick came on Dec. 5th her sort of thinks that because he got stuff in his stocking that was it... Another concept we're having a problem correcting with him is that he believes there has to be snow for Christmas. Now, in CA, that's just not going to happen so we've tried explaining this a thousand times but it's not taking hold... I guess the Christmas movies are getting to him, he just can't understand that not everywhere has to have snow for Christmas. Chances are he'll be distracted by all the presents under the tree and not thing about it but I think that WHY may be becoming his favorite word... and these experiences to his Santa costume theories.... TROUBLE! Anyways here are a couple pictures from St. Nick's morning.

We had a nice long weekend in Tahoe... we had the reservations for months, thank goodness it decided to snow the day before we got there! Not quite the same lake as the summer, check out the pictures and you'll see what I mean! Watch for Emerald Bay in all its winter glory...We had a great time sledding, seeing the "real" santa and his "real" sleigh, Micah learned to ice skate and we drank tons of hot chocolate... we about doubled our yearly consumption in two days time!

Here's a peek at what all of the Primary kids are getting for Christmas so if you're in our ward... don't let the cat out of the bag! We spent Monday night making these (silk screened 55 of them) as a family home evening service project as a Primary Presidency. Is that legal??? Micah likes them because he thinks they look like Star Wars, go figure!

It's official... we have a tree, it's even up and decorated! Christmas miracles never cease to amaze....

Santa?!?!

Micah with his favorite baby that he has affectionately dubbed "Ayson Pants"... the nickname stuck!

Two kids playing around outside way too late at night... Lauren seems to enjoy laying on the freezing cold cement, figure that one.

Pictures from the ward Christmas party on Saturday. The picture of Lauren and I is the only one of anyone with Santa... Micah wouldn't get close to him and Lauren would only scream. Micah quite candidly informed us that Santa was a man just dressed in a costume, the real Santa only comes out on Christmas Eve. Very funny!

After a long hiatus... broken computer.... broken camera.... dreading catching up.... we are back! Here's a look at what we've been up to the last month.

Hodge Podge

Here are a couple pictures from this week. I taught preschool this week and Micah and I made new playdough for school. When we weren't looking Lauren managed to climb up the chair and start playing with it. She is a little too good at climbing... This is a picture of her with a toy she got for her birthday. She ran out of wind and enthusiasm after opening her doll on her birthday so we saved this one and just barely opened it. Needless to say, it is a hit.

We're headed to the Monterey Bay Aquarium tomorrow and Tuesday for a little family getaway. We're staying in a hotel with a hot tub and Micah is SO excited about it. We are also going to dinner at what is supposed to be a really nice restaurant with our kids... the parents are a little nervous about that part of the trip but it should be fun overall!

Blog Happy

You know you're addicted to blogging when your kids in the chair and you shout out "Wait! I remebered my camera! Can I take a picture?"

Micah did GREAT at the dentist... he especially likes that they have an x-box and let you watch movies while your teeth are getting cleaned... he was so good he got two prizes from the treasure box. He also likes all the different kinds of toothpaste

Trick or treat...

Micah getting ready to trick or treat with his friends and a silly looking chicken... A picture of our family before trick or treating. Micah was actually heard at the first door saying to a stranger "trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat"! AWESOME... Later came the, "hey, give me some candy".... AWESOME... I don't know where he comes up with this stuff....

Breakfast the morning after Halloween. Lauren actually bit into a couple of candy bars through the wrappers when we weren't looking... she must have SHARP teeth. Today Scott picked a candy bar he'd been eyeing for a couple of days out of Micah's candy... it had a huge bite right out fo the middle of it... Lauren had found it when Micah was picking out a piece this afternoon and helped herself!

Preschool Halloween Party

We had a fun party on Halloween with Micah's preschool. Lauren climbed into the baby bouncer, we found her there, having a great time and eating a cupcake she had stolen from an unsuspecting 3 year old... She fell asleep on the way home. Micah loved getting wrapped like a mummy. By the end of the game, he and his partner had it down to a fine science. One would hold the roll letting it spin and unravel while the other turned in circles wrapping himself... pretty funny.

Pumkins, pumpkins...

Halloween wouldn't be complete without carving a pumpkin or two... on the night of the 30th Scott and I though we might just be able to skip it but our conscience got the better of us and we were carving pumpkins until well after 9 o'clock but it sure was fun!

Dad's Big Bash

Dad in his SD hat and Lauren sitting in the shoe box... she'll sit in anything she can climb into, believe it or not she got herself into the baby stroller but couldn't figure a way out....

To celebrate the big day we had a yummy dinner of Japanese food and chocolate cake almost everyday for a week... Dad's big gift... 24 hours with mom and no kids, a special Ruth's Chris Dinner, movie out and a hotel. We had a GREAT time!
