Another fun day at the park.

We like to frequent our neighborhood parks quite often in the week. Caleb will usually ask to ride his bike there. Sometimes we let him other times we drive to go to a different bigger park. On this particular day, it was the first time Tessa discovered the tunnels on the playgrounds. She has really become our little monkey as of late. The other day I found her on top of a small table that she had climbed on top of.Caleb loves to take Tessa down the slide with him. She really enjoys it too!

I see you Mommy.

Feeling crafty.

So I had decided a while ago that I needed to do something just for me. I've been going to the gym 3-4 days a week at night once John gets home. But I wanted to do something else too. So I looked in the recreation guide to see what kind of adult classes they offered that I might be interested in. I narrowed it down between basketry weaving and jewelry making. I went for the jewelry this time around. It was some basic beading instruction that come to find out I already had learned from Tanisha but it was still fun to get out for a few hours with out kids and do something for me!Well later the next week we're getting ready for the Blue and Gold banquet. Our theme this year was Western and I thought it would be really cute to make some holster place mats to go on the tables. 130 Holsters later...and whala! They turned out so well I think. Cub Scouts has really made me so much more creative with planning activities for the boys. I have really enjoyed serving in this calling.

Play it your way cafe...

Take me for a spin Carter!

Happpy Birthday to Cooper! We got to join in his birthday bash at this really fun cafe. Caleb had a blast and on the way home he kept telling us he wanted to go back and play again. This place was right up his alley. He loves driving around in those little coupe cars. Everyday Caleb wakes up and asks who's birthday party is next? It seems in the last few weeks lots of his friends have had them...he's pretty bummed when I tell him it'll be a few weeks till the next one.
Getting lost in the giant ball pit.Eating the birthday cake.

I'm a brown...and its pretty right on the money I think.

Take this test!
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

Caleb's All Star Sports Class

He has really enjoyed taking classes through our town's recreation program. Last summer he did dance (tuff guys only please!), swimming, and this past fall he did a running/tumbling class. This spring we signed him up for an all star class that teaches a little bit of soccer, football, baseball, and basketball. He has loved it! I think the hidden gem is he has two friends in the class, Morgan and Carson, and really looks forward each week to class. Mom looks forward to the chit chat with the other moms while we wait for the kids, and of course lunch afterwards!

Caleb has really loved all these classes so much he comes home and practices what he learned that week. Last week he really wanted to do his running class again and kept asking when it was. I told him it was over, but we could run together at home, he said "right now then?" I said ok. I loaded up the jogging stroller with Tessa and strapped my roller blades on. I thought he would probably only make it a few blocks and then want to get in the stroller with Tessa, as this is what he does with Dad at night. Well the first few blocks go by and he's still running. I ask him if he's tired and he says no. We run to the church (about 3/4 mile away) I ask him again do you want to get in? He says no, my legs aren't tired. Another 1/2 mile later I finally tell him he needs a break. Reluctantly he climbs in the stroller and realizes how tired he really is! I was so shocked that my 3 year old could run so far : ) The next day he wanted to do it again. I told him we should go on a bike ride instead. So we biked to a playdate about a mile away, played, and biked home. Afterwards he told me it was harder to bike than to run. Future olympian anyone?, or college scholarship? :)

Happy Birthday John!

John has it the big 30 this past month! And by the end of the summer so will I. 30 doesn't seem as scary as it once did :) Caleb insisted on helping to blow out the candles. Sorry sweetie, no custom cake for you again this year! The next night we got together for dinner and laser with some of our friends and had a blast, (no pun intended). Who knew that secretly my husband was so good at it. I was a wee bit scared at first because I have only ever played one other time, but the worries flew away when I heard all I had to shout was "Commmmander" and I would be rescued by the staff. No need for the rescue though because the second game we played I came in 2nd for our group :)
A little shout out to C & S for their closet secret for the love of laser tag too, apparently both were frequent players in high school :0
