Zachary's Mission Begins

May 21-22, 2013

Saying good-bye to Grandma
And Hannah.
Hannah went to school;
she didn't go to the MTC with us.
 Ready

Missed getting a photo of the Jon hug -

 And off he goes . . .
See you in two years, Elder Baker.
At these moments moms have to be brave.
Very brave.

Disneyland!

May 13 - 14, 2013

Zach chose Disneyland
for the family vacation
before his mission!
The greatest place on earth!

Splash Mountain

Space Mountain
. . . which apparently isn't exciting enough -

 Great Music
Scary animals.  (Scary invisible animals.)
The favorite lunch - New Orleans Square
Clam Chowder in a bread bowl
Getting the caricature done.
  Grizzly Rapids! A favorite
This man was so entertaining, playing ragtime music as we ate our snacks.
We clapped enthusiastically, which he really smiled at-
we were about the only ones!

Can't go to Disneyland without riding on the Peter Pan ride.
Christmas card photo, this year?

Love this place!

Dad Turns 52!

May, 2013

Happy Birthday
to an amazing husband and father

Görlitz

May 8-9, 2013

Görlitz was Jonathan's
first city -

His first apartment
on Carl-von-Ossietzskystrasse
!

Must be Mrs. Kravitz dog-
keeping an eye on the neighborhood

This home was abandoned during WWII.
Let's move in!

The Bahnhof -
Not a great photo,
But so German

 Fun colors!

St. Peter's

Town Hall
This wonderful woman routinely served the missionaries
rich hot chocolate made with melted, good quality chocolate,
and pastries or sandwiches to go with it.
We had a wonderful visit with her,
and her hot chocolate is the best!

Her father was a stone carver,
here is his certificate.  I thought it was fascinating.
He did beautiful work on the local St. Peter's Church.

More Germany

We did a lot of driving.
Well,
Dan did a lot of driving
and I did a lot of passenger-ing.
Much to his dismay when I saw the speeds
we were going on the Autobahn-
But usually I was a passive passenger.

I love seeing all the German-ness of the streets and villages -
I couldn't help adding them on the blog.
They make me happy.

It is so beautiful!
