Discovery Gateway

In between my mad sewing I have been trying to keep the boys happy and entertained. Thank you city connect pass!
I never saw the boys resemblance until this profile shot!

I see their similarity here, too.

Happy Birthday to US!

My dad took us to Benihana for lunch! I love Japanese. MMM.
About to catch his rice bowl...a joke from the chef.

Loving the show.

After lunch we rushed to my Grandma's for our swim party. 19 of my aunts and cousins came. I love to spend time with my fun family. If only mom wasn't in Kentucky reading AP English essays. Darn!

Then, once Ryan finally made it home we went to Cafe Rio for dinner followed by another trip to Toys R Us and New Balance for me!

Getting Out

After a morning of mad sewing* we needed to go do something fun. We made a stop at Toys R Us to spend some birthday money on Legos and then headed to Murray Park. Note: Fisher almost always ends up in PJ's in the afternoon.

Birthday Week Begins!

Sunday evening we had dinner at Grandma Bette's. Everyone went in on a bike. Cannon was so excited even though he figured out what he was getting as soon as he was sent outside with his eyes closed.
Cannon is hiding his eyes as his new bike is rolled out.
On Monday Cannon has his Birthday Party at Classic Fun Center. They played in the bounce area, laser tag and blast zone. The boys all had a great time. I was glad to drop those noisy boys back off to their homes!

Scout Camp

Ultimate Frisbee

Not sure why Cannon's eyes are teary as he was having fun.

Marbles

Me!

Cannon is on the right.

We were only able to go to one day of camp. Today is my Great Grandma's funeral. She passed away this week after living a wonderful 103 years.

Pinewood Derby

I absolutely love being a scout leader. Our troop hasn't had a Pinewood Derby for years. Since I wanted Cannon to have the experience as well as a boy that already turned 11 and moved on I suggested we have a Derby. Wow, I sure didn't know what I was getting into!  Since our troop is only three boys we invited the Elders and Young Men as well. In the end we had a really great time.

Fish painted his truck 3 different times because he was so excited. His was a precut car. Super easy alternative.

#2 Fisher, #3 Cannon, #5 Hedgehog the Winner.

We hired a track man. He set up his own track and ran the whole thing. SO EASY and worth every penny.

Martin, the 11 YO who has moved on, won the race. I was so glad he was the winner.

Jacob, Cannon and Tanner (who raced our other scout's car. That scout didn't show up.)

Viewing the Eclipse

Cannon and I made this wrestling mask. Tanner bought a mask at the flea market and Cannon just had to have one, too. Think Nacho Libre.

Goodbye cast, hello brace!

Fisher putting on a puppet show at the library.

Last day of daycare. I can't remember the last time he just fell asleep before bedtime.

Falling off the couch didn't even phase him!
