IT'S DISGUSTING BUT I'VE MADE IT THUS FAR!

***WARNING*** graphic photos ahead! This was today in Dr. Maling's office - this is actually the good photo. And cootie patootie Jolie in the background (my niece)
This is the side that split open when I fell- I think it looks utterly disgusting and my doc thinks it looks amazing considering what we started with. ( can you believe this is 5 weeks worth of heeling?)

Here is the new incision from the bone fusion on 12/1. Today was the first day I saw it and all I could think of was- " seriously this can not be my foot!" The swelling is just unbelievable and my ankle width wide looks HUGE! There is also an incision in the back of my heel. NO Steve Madden high heels for me for a LONG time - boo hoo.

I can't believe that it has been so long since I posted but the words "feeling like crap" don't give it justice. I had #3 surgery on Dec 1 and instead of an overnight stay ended up being there 4 days because we all know I can't do anything simply. Then came home and pretty much spent the weekend on my couch and the last 2 days at doctors appointments- oh the joy. So, when I was admited to the hospital my potassium was low AGAIN ( remember Sept. 07's ICU trip for the same issue? when one day I woke up and just couldn't walk?) AND I was also diagnosed with diabetes - which I have been teatering on for awhile now. Yesterday had to follow up with all of that and the doc says we'll do further testing to see how bad everything is and to what route we have to go ( diet controlled, oral, or insulin) Talk about kickin a gal while she's down! Just as I was afraid would happen - surgery #3 kicked my A and took me back to square 1 which really has not been a fun ride AND I do not suggest it for anyone. However, I do know each day gets better and I am really ready to fast forward about 1 month. I am sad right now because I am not even enjoying my favorite time of year-I don't even feel like it is Christmas. Todd did all our decorating and he did a fabulous job. I didn't even help one stitch- other than bossing him around(hmm.... maybe this isn't so bad after all??) One thing I do know and that is I am extremely grateful for my Saviour. There are days my pain seems unbearable and I can't imagine what Christ suffered for us and the pain that he had to bear-it truly is incomprehensible to me. I have many angels of my own here on this earth who watch out for me, that take care of me daily and help me with my family right now- you know who you are and I love you for giving of your time, for making our meals, taking me to my appointments, or moping my floor. Thank you , Thank you- I can't ever say it enough.
Love
Wendi
