Lincoln's brain at work

Lincoln:  Mom, why don't babies have brains?
Me:  They do have brains, silly!
Lincoln:  Then why don't they know how to do anything, like talk & walk?
Me:  Because you have to teach them how to do those things.  They have to learn it.
Silence....
Lincoln:  I think last night an earwig crawled into Kadi's ear and ate her brain out.
Me: (thinking...where the heck did this kid come from???)

Pee Wars

Funny post here.  Funny for a few reasons...one being that I have decided to join the blogging world again, after many months of NOT.  Also funny because I have decided to re-enter the blogging world with this particular post.  Now, being a mother with 2 boys, I am learning new things. All the time.  Here's the latest:  Pee Wars.  Who knows what I'm reffering to?  Oh please tell me that there is another soul out there that knows what I'm talking about!  Lincoln (5 years old) told me today that when he and Jackson (7 years old) are in the shower, they have, yes, Pee Wars.  You can imagine what I'm talking about.  Lincoln tried to go into great detail, until I told him to never do that again.  Can I hear the sympathy, PLEASE?

Happy (Late) Birthday, Jackson!

Here's another late birthday post...

This is handsome Jackson Thomas. He turned 7 in July...
Jackson is my sweet, sensitive boy. I can't get enough of his hugs! I love it when he gives me the sign language sign for "I love you" when I drop him off for school, and he waves at me till he can't see the car anymore. I love that he misses his dad soooo much when he's out of town. I love that he loves to be active and play sports. He has such a fun, cute personality, and we love our 7 year old second grader!

He LOVES to fish! This is a monster trout he caught in Greer. He often out fishes us all! (Well, except for his dad!)

He may not admit it right out, but Lincoln is his best friend!

Baseball seems to be his sport!

Happy Birthday cutie pie!

Happy (LATE) 12th Birthday Keslee!

Yes, it is SEPTEMBER, and I'm posting for JULY birthdays! Guess I'm a bit behind...what's new?

This is beautiful, Keslee Kalana.

I can't even say enough good about her. She has grown up so much this year. The thought of Jr. High made her really nervous, but she is really loving it, and we are so glad! (I remember hating Jr. High, so I'm so glad she's not following in my footsteps!) She is a great student, and even better friend to everyone. She is a great example to all, especially her mom. I am amazed at the good choices she makes. Sometimes they are small things, but those seem to be the one's that impress me the most. Like her willingness to step up to a task without being asked. She loves basketball, and is getting ready for tryout's this year. Being responsible is something that comes easy to Kes, and she is loving being in YW. I can't believe my "baby" is so grown up! Happy (LATE!) Birthday Keslee! We love you so much!

Keslee working with our newest colt.

She may hate me for posting this one, but she is so good at helping out with chores. Here she is milking "Amber", one of our goats.

Near to my delivery with Kadi, Keslee surprised me with a very fancy table setting (fancy for us!)

I'm not sure this will hit the markets, but this was Keslee's invention. It's called the
"Pacifier-keeper-inner". It worked, but....

Keslee has no problem gutting the fish she catches. Bleh!

This is the cake she decorated for her 12th birthday.

Keslee & Tom going to Keslee's first Deacon/Beehive dance. Tom got to go for High Council. I was so glad he got to go and spy! :D

Isn't she lovely?

I have A LOT of catch up to do, but just had to share these tonight. What a Daddy's girl!

A fun shoot

My friend, Erin, is getting into photography, and asked if she could take some shots of Kadi. Of course, I was excited to let her, and she did a FANTASTIC job! Especially with all the poop we had to deal with! Thanks Erin!!! :D I just wanted to post a few of my favorites.

She's here!

Our sweet little Kadi Ella was born on Monday, June 15 @ 7:24 am. She was 8 lbs., 5 oz., and is BEAUTIFUL!! We are so happy she's finally here. It seems like we've waited so long for her to be a part of our family, and now here she is! Everyone constantly fights over her, and lucky for me, there are times that she only wants ME, because she has to eat, of course. It's all about me around here. :} Here's a few pics that I had to post. She's a keeper!

Keslee, the oldest, and Kadi, the youngest.

Lincoln said, "It's finally June, and I'm a big brother!"

Aunt Mandi came to visit us in the hospital.

Our first family pic with Kadi.

All the girls in the family. Keslee & Kemilee came to the delivery room, seconds after Kadi was born.

Jack FINALLY looses his first tooth!

Horray! It finally happened for little Jackson! He will be 7 next month, and his teeth are just a bit behind. That's okay though. Makes me feel like he'll stay little for awhile longer. And guess what! The tooth fairy actually remembered to come the FIRST night he put his tooth under his pillow!
So, here's my final post before we have this little bambino. I am delivering in Mesa, as my fabulous OBGYN is there. I couldn't bare not to have him deliver this one too. So, the kids & I will "move" to Mesa on Wed. or Thurs., and wait for this little girl to get here. Tom will come as soon as I go into labor. I could just have my Dr. induce me, but I really want this girl to come when she is ready, and not before. My actual due date is June 17, but, like every other pregnancy, I am hoping that she will come early. I'm afraid I'll go crazy just waiting for things to happen, but that's all part of it, right?

Now I have to brag a bit. I feel ok bragging about this because this just doesn't normally happen to me. I am 9 months preggo, and I have only gained 15 lbs.! What a GREAT feeling! I have to thank my good friend, Sharlie, as she and I have been working out in her house with her equipment, and I know I wouldn't have been this lucky with out her. I normally gain the full 35+ lbs., so this has been such a great feeling for me. The whole pregancy has been absolutly remarkable, and it ALMOST makes me think I will do it again! It's kind of a funny feeling when you realize that all the doctors & nutritionists have been saying for years that if you will just excersise, that you'll feel good. Hmmmm. Go figure.

On the Palmer side, there are 5 of us all due within a few months of each other. We got a picture of 4 out of the 5 girls expecting. Wish I had a pic of the 3 expecting on the Rogers side. I love my sister in laws! Don't they look cute pregnant?

Summer haircuts!

Now that I have your attention, let me explain. The boys always get their "summer haircut" about this time of year. I'm not a big fan, but they love not having to worry about combing their hair. Tom always has to shave a wierd pattern on their heads to start out with, and then finishes it off. So, this has become a bit of a tradition. At least he finishes it, right? P.S. These pics are "BEFORE" pics only. Don't have the "AFTER" ones to post yet! Just wanted to make sure we were clear on that! :D
We sent Keslee to Girls Camp this last week. Wow. What a wierd feeling. I could hardly comprehend the fact that she was old enough to be going. She, of course, had a really good time, and had some great experiences. I am so grateful for good church leaders & good friends! I can promise that those two groups of people are what kept me "good" as a teenager. Now I see Keslee having some of the same experiences I had, and I LOVE that she has so many others that care about her that will help to lead her in the right direction. She was so worried that I was going to have the baby while she was gone. Obiously didn't happen. But I wanted to remember the day I sent my oldest to camp, and was about to pop with my youngest. Keep in mind that this is 6:00am on a Saturday morning, hence the groggyness.

Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy

I know I need to post some family updates, but I just had to share this tonight. How many of you are fans of "Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy"? It's an old SNL thing. Anyway, my crazy brother, Tyler, sent me these, and I just couldn't resist posting them! Some of you won't appreciate them, like my husband. I guess this is just the kind of humor I grew up with. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Deep Thoughts, By Jack Handy

* The wise man can pick up a grain of sand and envision a whole universe. But the stupid man will just lie down on some seaweed and roll around until he's completely draped in it. Then he'll stand up and go, "Hey, I'm Vine Man."

* It's too bad that whole families have to be torn apart by something as simple as wild dogs.

* One good thing about hell, at least, is that you can pee wherever you want to.

* If there was a big gardening convention, and you got up and gave a speech in favor of fast-motion gardening, I bet you would get booed right off the stage. They're just not ready.

* As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

* I'm not afraid of insects taking over the world, and you know why? It would take about a billion ants just to AIM a gun at me, let alone fire it. And you know what I'm doing while they're aiming it at me? I just sort of slip off to the side, and then suddenly run up and kick the gun out of their hands.

* During the Middle Ages, probably one of the biggest mistakes was not putting on your armor because you were "just going down to the corner."

* If they ever have a haunted house for dogs, I think a good display would be a bathtub full of soapy water.

Just because I was curious...

81% Compatible

♥ Suzanna and Tom have been romantically-together for a long time. That alone demonstrates a degree of compatibility. Their shared faith will help form a bond between them. They both abstain from drinking, so that helps compatibility. The fact that Tom is a big sports fan could be divisive, in terms of how the couple spends their time. Furthermore, their astrological signs are not in harmony. But their views on children are similar. Overall, Suzanna and Tom are quite compatible. There are a few rough spots, but nothing that cannot be overcome. ♥

My cuddly boy!

Lincoln is my little cuddle boy. He loves to be held and will bury his face in his "blanky" and cuddle with me forever. Tonight, I was holding him, and I said, "Linc, what are you going to do when the baby comes and I have to hold her instead of you?" He quickly said, "Just put her down." Oh boy. We're going to have a hard time with this one! :D

ALRIGHT ALREADY!!

Okay, so I'm a little - or a lot - behind. What? Is 4 months a long time to have not posted anything? My only excuse is the first trimester of pregnancy. Kind of took it out of me, and then I guess I just plane got out of the habit! Kemilee made this cute pic for me when I was feeling so yucky.

The dots on the bottom are specks of glitter. Gotta have a little bling on everything, according to Kemilee! But, I'm glad to say that WE'RE BACK! And I'm happy to announce that we're having our 3rd GIRL! YOWZERS! It'll be fun to dress up a little girl again, I'm just not ready to deal with more hormones! She is suppose to come live with us in mid June. Hopefully she'll cooperate, and stick with mid June instead of later in the month. I'm definetly turning into quite the heffer, but that just comes with it. I'm not one of those cute little girls with a little basketball on her tummy. I turn into the big girl the excersise ball on my tummy, so don't expect any pictures of how fat I am getting. It's just not a pleasant site on this body. I can't get myself to wear maternity clothes...it just feels yucky. Instead, I wear lot's of "stretchy pants". Did you see that episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond"? So funny!

We have had a lot of things going on at the Palmer farm. Yes. That's what I now call our homestead. "Palmer Farm", with a hint of red-necky-ness. Never thought I'd say it, but it's true. Tom keeps calling me a Grandma when our goats or cow or whatever animal, has a baby. It's not a nice feeling to be called a "Grandma" when your goats have babies. So, good thing the babies are so stinking cute! I'll get some pics posted of them soon. They're like cute little puppies. Then they grow up. We are also milking a cow, and get all the milk we want. Actually, it's Tom milking. Won't take credit for that one. But what a huge blessing! Keslee just bought her first calf (cuz what kid doesn't have that experience?), and she's excited to raise it up. We collect roughly 10 eggs a day. And we have pecans running out our ears from the pecan trees. I remember when I didn't want to have this kind of life. Now I thank my lucky stars for it, even if we have turned red-necky!

The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Gila Valley Temple was on Feb. 14, and it was great! Crazy Tom & his crazy partner from work hiked up one of the ball park light poles to get some extra good pics. It was great really great to be there, and to be able to see things from the beginning. Tom continues to be able to work with the "temple guys" as we call them. What an awesome thing for him to be able to do!

Well, that's all for now. I'm going to try really hard to keep this up better! Thanks for checking!
