Any other moms out looking into being a crazy coupon lady too ? Like ME ? I am sure many of you have seen the recent episodes of TLC's Extreme Couponing and wish that we could get hundreds of dollars of groceries for next to nothing or free. Well here in Canada it isn't quite as good as you others have it in the USA when it comes to couponing...BUT I have been doing a big of research and wanted to share with you all of few of the good Canadian Coupon sites you can go to, to get yourself some coupons and start saving.

  1.  websaver.ca
  2.  save.ca
  3.  gocoupons.ca
  4.  brandsaver.ca
Also a new favorite website is moneysavingmomcanada.com she shares some awesome ideas how to save money and also have great tips and resources for couponing. Right now I am currently in the collecting stage of couponing and will let you all know how my first shopping trip goes with coupons. If any of you have other great couponing sites or info you would like to share I would LOVE to know.

Meaningful Mother's Day

I know that Mother's day has come and gone but I do want to mention a little bit about it. We had a wonderful dinner at my sister in laws house, with Trevor's family. The kids played and us adults enjoyed a nice visit. Trevor bought me a tree, yes a TREE that I want to plant at my new house, one that can mark the beginning of our adventure as " Out of Towners" . I love it, it is a flowering crab apple tree that gets dark pink blossoms on it....can't wait to plant it.

But I have to say the most meaningful Mother's Day gift I have received to date was a special gift I received from my wonderful parents. They each wrote me a personal letter where they shared there personal feeling about me and my personal strengths and accomplishments ( I am the sentimental, sappy type so this means alot). They also compiled short stories and quotes that they loved and that would help me as a young mother raising two little boys in this crazy world we live in. Of course my mom threw in a few girlie goodies too. It meant alot to me and really got me thinking about all the time I spend, wastefully. All the time I spend doing things that really are not going to make a lasting impression on my life or the lives of those I love. Balance in all things is the key ......I know, but it has helped me realize a few things that I really need to cut out of my life ( facebook for example) and start focusing on myself and those I love more. I need to focus on raising my family and striving harder to have an eternal family. I need to work harder on developing my talents and helping those around me. A little self reflection is always good I think.
Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least. ( Goethe)

Easter Traditions....

I can't believe how fast Easter is approaching ! This year I really want to concentrate on the more important reason's we celebrate, that our course being our savior Jesus Christ and his resurrection and atonement. I found this great little website called Green Jello with Carrots that has some awesome printables for Easter.

I downloaded this one and it is a complete FHE lesson ready to go , all you have to do it cut and laminate and then you can tell of the story of Christ's resurrection. I am wondering what other fun things you all do for Easter, anything planned? Usually we have a little neighbor Easter egg hunt outside but with this wet, snowy weather we have been having I don't know if we will get one this year.

New Beginings ...once again.

I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted but it is well overdue.

So lets start off with our most exciting news ....

We are expecting baby # 3 in early September. We are all looking forward to have the new little addition but it doesn't come without the normal pregnancy worries from me. I am such a paranoid pregnant women. To say the least this pregnancy hasn't been too easy, morning sickness, bronchitis, bruised ribs ( from so much coughing) and now folliculitis that has me wanting to scratch my skin off. BUT I am almost half way done so that is exciting. I have been trying to have a positive attitude through it all and it has really helped. Trevor is great at helping ease my mind and helping out as much as he can.

With this exciting news comes some extremely sad news for me. I got released from YW's on Sunday as the second counsellor. I thought it wouldn't be that hard but as soon and they announced it in church I had a real hard time keeping it together, sadly I even went into the ugly cry. Those special young women and leaders that I have had the opportunity to work with really have no idea how much I love them and how much I am going to miss being part of such a wonderful organization. Tonight is mutual night and it is going to feel odd having the night off. I think my kids and husband will not know what to do with mom being around either on a Wednesday night. I know with change comes new growth and new beginnings so I am focusing on that and I know that those relationships I have made with be lasting.

Thirdly, our house is finally coming along...like really coming along. Trevor is going to be doing the hardwood floors right away , then it just means carpet, cabinets and appliances. It has been a long process building our dream home, but I know it has been worth it. You have no idea how glad I will be to get out of this tiny little place we have called home for the last 20 months. On a sad note I am really going to miss our awesome neighbors and the continuous number of kids having fun outside together.

Love, Hunter...

Aren't these so stinking cute !!!
I love finding FREE darling printables online.
These sandwich bag toppers totally beat the crappy store bought Buzz light year and Superman Valentines I bought a few weeks ago. I am going to attach it to a yummy bag of treats....plus there won't be any whinning from Hunter about how many times he has to write his name on the valentines this year. We are taking the easy road and I am loving it.
Happy V-day

Welcome 2011

Hey all you fellow bloggers ... WELCOME to 2011. I must say I am really excited to be starting off a new year. I love planning goals for the new year and making a few adjustments as needed. 2010 was a good year for the Sloan family. We had lots of fun times together as a family and honestly I really don't remember any big tragedies...so that is great. We are so blessed. We had a wonderful holiday season, spent with those we love and cherish. Here are a few fun pictures to capture the winding up scenes of 2010.
