100% Emma

So we are eating dinner tonight and Emma starts telling "jokes" in other words just saying random silly things waiting for someone to laugh. She said one, but we can't remember now what is was (and it doesn't really matter) and Brady and I both gave a weak courtesy laugh. It went on like this...
Emma: Dad, that was a fake laugh.
Brady: What?
E: Like, it was not real.
Carlie: How do you know?
E: Uhg, because his real laugh is louder and more fast. That was short and not too loud.
C: Oh. ... You are smart.
E: It's easy.
E: K guys- I am going to say more things until it's real funny and you real laugh.
B: Ok, no more courtesy laughs.
E: What laughs?
B: That's what we call a laugh that is not real.
E: Yeah, no more.
At this point she says a few more randoms things and we are laughing at the conversation we just had.
E: Good guys... that's real.
*side note* Em loves Twister right now.

Funnest. Weekend. Ever.

I look forward to Mother's Day weekend every year. It started a few years ago when my mom decided that she'd take her daughters away for a mother/daughter (affectionately known as "mo/dau")night. We eat, shop, sleep, swim, and shop some more. It is good food, successful shopping, a morning that doesn't start a 6am, and lots of laughs. (Nicole~ we're planning on you next year!!)

Emma and Regan always have fun hanging with Brady for the night. It makes me love being a mom even more when I have their Dad to share it with. I come home refreshed and grateful that I get to celebrate being a mom and all the mom's in our families that we love so much.

On Sunday we got to hear my mom-in-law give an awesome talk that started the day perfectly. Then we went to our ward where we got to hear Emma sing with the Primary kids and help our class make cards for their moms. My favorite was when one of the boys had to fill in the blank for "My mom is as beautiful as__" well, he said "china!". It was great, gotta love sincere 3 year- olds! After church we ate dinner with my fam, where my dad was the cook- always love his grilling.

(Side note- this won't be the first time in the next couple of months, but I had to put the pic of my lil bro with my mom that made me cry...next year we'll be looking forward to the phone call)

Fashionably Functional

Had to do a little photo shoot and give credit to my sis-in-law, Kati who makes these great clips!

They have a "no-slip grip" that keeps them in their place. I really love them in Regan's hair because she likes her hair "down and soft"- these add the extra touch I am looking for without all the fuss! She has a great variety of clips, even mini clips for babies(they are tiny & sweet), and has recently added flower clips. (We will be trying those next.) They are cute for all ages, so check them out here... http://www.lbboutique.com/macy-mae-clippies

Little Brother/Big Night

On Thursday my brother went to the temple for the first time and then opened his mission call. It was a big night for him and we were happy to be a part of it.
By the way, he's going to the ECUADOR GUAYAQUIL NORTH mission
We are so excited for him, Brady is especially happy...another Spanish speaker in the fam.
Congrats Patrick!

My Father, the Hero

Dinners out with my family usually end like this...

the grand kids think it's the coolest!

Thanks for dinner mom and dad!
