Kindergarten Quilt 2010

Well 3 years ago I made a quilt for Madison's Kindergarten class after much begging from her teacher. I said I would never do another one! Well unfortnately I am eating my words. After several months of Jacob's teacher begging me I have given in! This quilt is comprised of a piece of 6x6 swatch from each student of something that they had when they were little that meant a lot to them. Well not all of the students submitted a 6x6 size swatch so we had to cut them all down to the smallest piece turned in. So the quilt will only be lap size this year! This is all based on a booked called Owen by Kevin Henkes. The story is about a little mouse who goes off to school for the first time. It is very hard for him so his mom cuts a small piece of his favorite blanket to carry in his pocket so he can make it through the day! So that is why the quilt is being made. It will be given away at a raffle at the end of the school year. When I made Madison's I was so hoping to get to keep hers but we did not win the raffle. She had a really good friend win it so we get to see it occasionally! I am truly hoping we get to keep this one! Crossing my fingers! With the help of a good friend I am well on my way of getting this one done!

Here are some pics of Jacob playing Spring Soccer!

Jason's 40th Surprise Party

Well, it is hard to believe but Jason turned 40 this month! He was dreading it terribly! So I thought I would do something that might make it easier to accept! I was able to keep it a secret and him clueless until we were heading to the church building. Our plans were changing as the day went along. So it was difficult to keep it a secret! But I think he was very surprised that I put this together for him! I love you honey! I hope you had a great time! I was able to locate a friend from High School who lives nearby and they came by along with his Monday night bible study group! We had a wonderful turn out of our Christian family as well! Thank you to everyone who made it a success. Jason's parents were able to come and his mom put together a great picture board showing his younger days up to now! It was awesome! I wished I had taken more pics but I was so busy mingling that I only got two! I hope that someone else got more and i can add them later!

Soccer Spring 2010

Well this is Madison's 5th year to play and Jacobs 3rd year to play soccer! The season started a few weeks ago and it was a chilly day! I was a guest coach for Jacob's team...it has changed a lot since he was a tiny tot (3 years old) playing...the field got longer! So needless to say I was exhausted! I did not get any pics of that game since I was running the fields but more are to come. We did get some of Madison's game. She had a double header the first weekend! She was truly exhausted!

Father Daughter Princess Ball February 2010

Madison and her daddy went to a Princess ball at a friends country club! They had a great time and they looked so cute together! I took Madison to have her nails done for the occasion! Jacob asked me out on a date so he and I went to eat at Johnny Carinos (he even paid for it with a gift card daddy had given him)and then I took him to Barnes and Noble for hot chocolate and some reading! It was a fun evening for everyone.

100 Day Celebration at School 2010

Every year the kids have some celebration for the 100th day of school. Madison has come to the age where they do not do anything exciting to mark it. Last year I made a 100 cake for Jacob's class. This year he had to dress up like an old geezer to celebrate the 100th day. He looked so cute!

Girl Scout Meeting

Madison is in her final year of Brownies. She will bridge to Jr. Girl Scout this Spring! We hosted a meeting at our home one night and they had to pretend to be reporters and interview other girl scouts in their troop as well as the Mom's and present them to the group.

Valentines Boxes 2010

Each year the kids have to make boxes for their class parties at school. Here are the boxes they created!

Snow 2010

We missed the blizzard of 2009. So this is the kids first official snow for this year! Missed some days of school and enjoyed playing out in it!

Legos

Jacob loves legos. He got several for Christmas and Jason and I took him to the Lego Store one Saturday when his sister was gone for the weekend with Grandparents. We all loved the Lego Store...will have to go back soon to visit! Here are some pics of some of the legos we have assembled.
