Frosty the Snowman and Teething

Yesterday while Carson was sleeping Abby and I headed out to shovel. Some wonderful neighbors came and helped and we had it done in no time at all! Abby wasn't quite done playing outside and so we decided to build a snowman; the snow yesterday was PERFECT. While we were building Abby kept calling him Frosty and telling me that when we put the hat on him that he would talk to her. :) How I love kids! Well, we built him all up and put his buttons, eyes, nose, mouth and even him pipe on. Then I had Abby put his hat on him. She stood there for a minute (I assume waiting for something to happen.) When nothing did she turned to me and told me that our hat wasn't magic. I love how quick she is. She understands so much!!

Here is a picture of Abby and our Frosty.

In other news...Carson is getting his first teeth. Poor guy! I guess the song is right all we want for Christmas are his two front (bottom) teeth so he'll start being the happy mellow baby again!

This is the new face he has started to pull. I think sucking in his bottom lip must help with the pain. I just melt every time I see this face though. :)

Temple Square Lights

So yesterday we had a very full, fun but full, day! It started off by Brian heading to the church to play a little b-ball with some of the other self proclaimed "old guys" in our ward. When he got home we quickly got ready for the day and headed down to Orem for a fun family get together with my Dad's side of the family. We ate some nummy food, and visited for a while. Thanks again G'ma and G'pa for putting that whole shin dig together it was lots of fun!!

After brunch we headed off to the mall for some last minute Christmas shopping (yes, we are the crazies that not ONLY head out the day after Thanksgiving, but we also venture out on the last Saturday shopping day before Christmas.) When we knew the kiddos were tired enough we left hoping they would sleep on the car ride home. We loaded the up in the car and before we could leave the mall parking lot they were BOTH OUT!! :)

When we got home I finished up Singing Time stuff for primary and Brian called his sister to figure out all the details for the lights at Temple Square that night. We left home again to grab a quick bite and then head down to SLC.

The lights were GORGE as always! But the kiddos got cold FAST! So after only about an hour of wandering we decided to head up to Bountiful to Brian's sister's house and have some hot chocolate. Overall it was a fun day, but by 9:00 last night both Brian and I were wiped out!! :)

Here are some pics from Temple Square:

Our little family.

Isn't this B.E.A.U.T.F.U.L.!

Frozen little Carson.

Abby, Carson, Dani (cousin), Angie (aunt), and me.

Abby and Dani. Dani was not in the best mood. Her mommy wanted her to have a blanket on so she would stay warm...those DANG mommies! :)

SNOW!!!

I have NEVER been this excited for snow before! I was really beginning to worry that we weren't going to get any this year. Abby was just as happy to see the snow this weekend as I was. On Saturday she and Brian went and exchanged her boots (we got the wrong size) and he bought her her own shovel! When they got home they spent about and hour outside. She loves going out and helping daddy! On Sunday, after church, they headed out again to shovel. Last year Brian made her a "snow chair" and she hasn't stopped asking for it since it melted, so they started a pile just off the driveway where her "snow chair" will be this year! I sense a tradition in the making. :)

Bubba Is 6 Months Old

That's right! Carson is 6 months old. I can't even believe it; time has gone so fast! Well, we had his Well Check on Thursday last week and he is doing GREAT! He is in the 56% for head circumference, 89% for weight, and would you guess the 98% for height? He is SUCH a tall boy; I guess I really shouldn't be that surprised. Cars is learning so quickly too. He is an expert at rolling over and playing on his tummy. He has just started to get up on his knees a little too!! And just this past week he started to sit up by himself!! Some of his favorite things are: baby yogurt (we can't get that stuff in him fast enough!), Abby (he lights up anytime he sees her...it's really cute!), and of course slobbering on EVERYTHING (Brian and I are amazed that that kid stays hydrated!)

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String...These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things...

So I am totally addicted to this blog called Thrifty Decor Chick http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/ and they are having a drawing/giveaway. She has found a few of her favorite things and is giving them away. We, who enter the contest, have to dedicate a post on our blog to "our favorite things." So this is mine....

#1. First off...vinyl lettering. I love it! Such an inexpensive way to decorate and personalize your home! Here are a few of mine in my house:

Master bedroom, above bed

Master bedroom, near light switch.

In guest/kids bathroom

Front room above window.

Laundry room above washer/dryer.

#2. My second favorite thing are these cloth diapers. I didn't use them on Abby (my oldest), but I found them and decided to give them a try with Carson. He has been in them since he was newborn, and he is now almost 6 months. I think they'll fit him for a few more months too!! I love to save money (although, the initial cost isn't cheep) AND do a little bit to help our world!

And they're really cute too!!

#3. My third favorite thing is my silhouettes that I did of my kids (yeah, got the idea off of TDC blog!! I'm telling ya...it's the BEST!!)

#4. My fourth favorite thing are these hand-painted growth charts that I made for the kids. Cute huh?!

#5. My fifth favorite thing...which really should have been #1...is CEREAL!! I love the stuff! If I could I'd have it for all 3 meals everyday (some days I actually do... :) ) Right now I'm really hooked on Frosted Flakes! Come on, say it with me... They're GRRRRRREAT!!!!!
