Kai graduated his first year of preschool in May. He has the best teacher and he loved class. It was so weird to attend a graduation. He will always be my baby...
Kai's last day of school for the year.
Kai and his teacher Ms Kelly. He was given the "Mr Goodbar" award because he is such a good guy. :)

 Cicilee turned three!
I made her a flower cake. She is such a girly girl and loved it. We had a few friends and neighbors over. I am always so overwhelmed at my kids birthdays because having friends surrounding us makes me feel so loved.

Family pic. Too bad Tru was so unhappy.
Getting ready to blow out the candles.

 Make a wish...
Opening presents surrounded by so many friends.

Some of my friends that were at the party. Love these girls.
Emily came into town for the party. (She just happened to be in Colorado the weekend of Cici's birthday so it was AWESOME.) Love her. Miss her terribly.
We celebrated Cici's birthday on Saturday but her birthday was actually on Sunday. She was so excited to wear her new tiara and jewelry to church on Sunday and I couldn't say no to the birthday girl.

Since the outdoor pools were still closed we spent a lot of time outside in the backyard in our little pool. Tru was usually shivering with blue lips in about 10 minutes. I'm so glad I snapped this shot though. I just love this lil man.

Kai and Cic played in the sun with the hose.

Tru is such a happy boy.

Love this little smile. Still can't belive he has 6 teeth already. I miss my little toothless grin though. He's just growing up so fast. Too fast.
Before Kai graduated preschool he had one field trip. They went to the Hudson Gardens and went on a frog hunt.

Kai got all dressed up to look like a frog.
We also took a roadtrip to Nauvoo in May. I need to post pictures from the trip but haven't even looked at them and I am sure there are a ton. Next post...hopefully I'll get around to it soon.

A cIcIlEE OvErlOAd

Cicilee's dance class has a recital coming up. Since the costumes have arrived they decided to have a photographer come and take pictures of everyone. Cicilee was so excited! I put her hair up in a bun and then attempted to put make-up on her. I have never put make-up on anyone so I was pretty nervous.
I told her I was so excited to have her pictures taken. I know what I can capture but was really excited to see what someone else (who knows what they are doing) can capture.

I got Cicilee ready pretty quick and we had ample time before class, so I took her outside and snapped a few in her pink leotard.
I actually LOVE how they turned out. It was still morning so the light was awesome.

Cic making a silly face...

We met up with the rest of the class and put her costume on. Cic all of a sudden became extremely shy. EXTREMELY shy. Wouldn't talk to anyone. Stuck to my side like superglue. We watched several of the girls pose in front of the set, smile, and laugh. Then it was Cicilee's turn. She immediately started crying. The make-up that I had so delicately put on her LOOOONG lashes was running. The bun that I had put up was a mess and she was having a full blown melt down.
I tried and tried to ger her to even stand on the set. She had a death grip around my neck. She was shaking.
This is not how Cicilee acts. Yes, she is shy. BUT, she is not camera shy. I think that there were too many people around, too much commotion. Too many new things.
I tried and tried again just to get her on the set, I told her she didn't even have to smile. I offered her every bribe in the book. NOTHING worked. She was just DONE.
I asked the photographer is we could try again after the group shot.
Ahh, the group shot. Cic started crying again. I decided to leave so she couldn't see me. Maybe she would do better if I wasn't there to save her. So, our dance teacher stepped up to the plate. She was able to calm her down and get Cic to stand with the rest of her class. I didn't see any of the pictures, but after all was said and done I was told that Cic stopped crying but they couldn't get her to
face the photographer. She had her back turned (looking at the wall) for the class picture. AWESOME.

We tried an individual shot again after the class picture and it was the same terrible train wreck.
We left defeated and as I drove home so confused, I heard a sweet voice coming from the back of the car.
Cicilee: "Mom, I want to get my picture taken now."

WHAT? Seriously. I was so bugged. I was sitting at a stop light contemplating the whole thing. I caved and decided to give it one more shot. She WAS asking for another chance.
So, we turned around and went back.
I changed her back into her costume again and right as we were putting on her ballet shoes the meltdown began AGAIN.
Whatever. What the heck???
Not sure what the deal was, but I was over it.
I left with my tail between my legs...

Cic came home and took a looooong nap. After dinner the lighting was perfect again and I asked if she would let me take pictures in her costume. (We will be out of town for the recital, but I bought the costume b/c I didn't want her to be the only one for class pictures that didn't match. Plus we will be here for the dress rehearsal, so I rationalized buying it. I at least wanted SOME pictures of her in the costume.)
Cic was an absolute doll when we took pictures.
I took too many pictures, but love them all.
I absolutely love these pictures of her looking down.

My little ballerina.

Showing me some of her dance poses...

One of Cicilee's favorite poses is this squatting down pose. Not sure why.

Move of Cici's "moves"

Gorgeous.

Her eyes are so piercing.

I have so many favorites...

Wish I had focused on her eyelashes in this one instead of her midsection...but I still love it.

love this.

I'm still baffled at her behavior yesterday with her class. Hope that wasn't a sign of what's to come...
