New Toys

Clay is starting to try to stand a lot on his own. So I put him in the toy we have where he can stand up and play. Well he's so tiny still that I had to wrap one of his blankets around him so he could actually sit up. But he thought it was great. It was a little difficult getting pictures of him in the toy because suddenly it was Elizabeth's favorite toy too.

Elizabeth is very good at sharing, but I pulled out some toys that we took away from her a month or so before Clay was born hoping that she wouldn't care once Clay was old enough to play with them. Well now whenever we give Clay a toy she wants it. Yesterday she took the toy Clay was playing with. I told her no and to give it back to Clay. Of course she wouldn't so I took it and gave it back to Clay. Well she was also holding his pacifier and got so mad at me for taking the toy back that she pelted Clay with the pacifier. She got yelled at and told that wasn't nice. She did tell Clay sorry, but even though she can say it I'm pretty sure she doesn't mean it.

Pictures of the Kids

Elizabeth loves the computer. She's not allowed on it or to play with it, but one day when James and I were talking in the kitchen she decided to take advantage of the fact we weren't paying attention. The computer was off luckily and I couldn't help but laugh at her trying to use it.

As you can see she has also figured out how to take off her shirts by herself now.

Clayton going for his toes. He can actually do it now, but this was the first time he tried to get them.

Elizabeth loves these novelty headbands. She loves to put them on all of us, and lucky for us they are usually only $1

Elizabeth loves to hold Clayton. And she can now hold him herself since he's trying to sit up more. Whenever she wants to hold him she'll say "see him". The only bad thing about this is she usually wants to see him while I'm changing his diaper or feeding him. And if I take to long to give him to her she'll try to pick him up herself.

Clayton can now roll over from his back to his tummy. He does it all the time now, but this was one of his early attempts to do it. He couldn't manage to get himself over all the way and fell asleep on the floor mid-roll. It was adorable.

And of course Elizabeth is where Clay is

She likes to ham it up for the camera now. And whenever she sees the camera or our camera phones she says "cheese!"

Cookies!!

Well a few weeks ago I decided as a family home evening activity we would make sugar cookies. I have this awesome recipe from my sister-in-law for the cookies and frosting. Well after a lot of thought I decide I would make the cookies and we would make the frosting of the cookies the activity. Well we let Elizabeth pick the color for the frosting. She picked green (at that time that was the color she liked the most, but now I think it's yellow). As soon as I took a cookie to help Elizabeth frost one she just kept trying to grab the cookie.

As you can see Elizabeth really wasn't into frosting the cookies...

She was just interested in eating them! It was still fun even though I pretty much made the cookies and frosted them all alone. We all sure enjoyed those cookies. They didn't last long at all.

Our afternoon without the kids!

James and I were able to go out and celebrate our anniversary yesterday. My brother and his wife (Brad and Aimee) were nice enough to watch the kids for us so that James and I could go do something. We kept it very simple. We decided to go to a movie and get ice cream afterwards. We went and saw "Prom Night". James and I both like suspense/horror movies so we were both excited. But we both didn't think anything else really sounded good either. We had fun, James kept predicting everything that he thought would happen. Only James and I could leave a movie like that laughing. Afterwards we went to Cold Stone and got some ice cream. It was weird going anywhere without the kids, but it was nice because we didn't have Elizabeth saying "some" the whole time we were eating. It was a very simple and cheap date, but I think it was just nice to get out as a couple instead of towing the kids around with us. I was excited to go pick up the kids though. Elizabeth missed us and we missed them too. As soon as we came in the house Elizabeth never went more than 2 feet from the door. James thinks that she was making sure we didn't leave without her again.

4 Months Old

Well I swear I'm loosing my mind! We took Clayton to his doctor on Tuesday for his 4 month check-up. Every time we take one of the kids in for a well child appointment they will print off the new weight and measurements for us to take home. Well I can't find them! So I'll have to estimate. Clayton's height is 23 inches and his weight is 12lbs 5oz (I actually remember that one). He is under the 7% for both but I can't remember what % for sure. But he's on the small side. Works for me I'll get a lot of use out of all the cloths we have for him. Poor kid when he got his shots he pulled his upper body up all by himself (like a sit-up). He didn't enjoy it, but who does enjoy shots! He's doing great though. Right where he needs to be. He loves to laugh and smile at us already. I love getting him in the morning because as soon as he sees me he smiles and giggles. He LOVES James too. He'll just stare at James and when James will look at him he grins. He rolls from tummy to back and has been for a while now. He's very selective when he does do it though. He's still a very mild baby, only crying when he's hungry. It looks like he might be close to sleeping through the night soon too. He only wakes up 1 time a night, but none would be even better.

Flowers Just Because

Well on April 1 James had to go in on his day off for his yearly evaluation at work. I was bummed but it was only for a few hours. When James came home he surprised me with a dozen roses and candy. I asked him if this was an early anniversary present. He said nope he just wanted to set an example for Elizabeth on how guys should treat her. Super sweet! The funny thing was Elizabeth's reaction. I think she thought the flowers were for her too because she sure wasn't happy when I started to arrange them in a vase.
So we had a few errands to run afterwards. And since Elizabeth couldn't play with the flowers James got me, we bought her a fake rose she could have. She was very pleased.

Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!

So Elizabeth's loves to eat Uncrustables. I love them too since some days I'm just too busy to make lunch. So I got some pictures of her enjoying one. She really likes to eat them because she likes to stick her finger in and scoop the pb&j out.

Cute Kids

Well as you can see I two very silly children. If Clay was a planet, Elizabeth would be his moon. She's always around him, making him giggle and smile. I swear I have the happiest children. Elizabeth just laughs, giggles, and dances around the apartment. Even if she gets upset it's not for long. Her newest thing she does with Clay is she'll go up to him and say "Shhh" if he's upset. It's so funny to watch
Got the giggles?

Elizabeth's other thing she really loves to do right now is putting on shoes. She can put her own shoes on (though she tries), so she goes our shoes instead.

I'm also so proud of Elizabeth because she has almost all her ABC's down! I still can't believe it and am singing praises to "Signing Time". Now when we take baths we revue her letters. Since her alphabet bath toys are her favorite now we stick them up on the way and she'll tell me what it is and with most of them she'll do the sign too.
