Boys

I took the boys in the other day for photos in the cute brown sweaters that Grammy gave them. It was nice and quick, they both cooperated.
I didn't notice that they're in the same pose as photo to the right, funny.

Subway

So I had to share this story, hopefully it'll give you a good laugh.

Our fridge that is only 4 years old broke on Christmas day and we have a pile of food in the garage in different coolers (lucky time of year weather wise) so it's hard to get motivated to cook. Any way, Sam suffered from the stomach flu yesterday and I had to get out of the house so I piled the kids in the car to go to Subway (for some reason I like it a lot lately) and to rent a movie.
We were in the drive thru and I thought I would get a foot long in case Sam was feeling up to eating later he could have the other half. I pulled away, gave the kids their sandwiches to eat in the car and I started on mine, it was delicious I might add. Before I knew it I ate the whole thing (piggy wiggy) and the bag of sunchips. Then Caden says "mom that sandwich is the biggest in the planet earth" yeah the foot long that I just devoured. Then he asked if he could have some of my chips, but I already licked that clean too. The saddest part was I was still hungry. When we came home he told his daddy that I ate the biggest sandwich and I ate all of his. In case your wondering I haven't gained any weight yet this pregnancy, but I'm not sure after that subway incident.

Merry Christmas

Hope you all had a good Christmas! We had a really good one. The boys are at fun ages. Of course they got spoiled, it's hard not to. This is the thing Caden really wanted Santa to bring so he is thrilled and plays with it every second.
One of Gavins cute faces of joy!!! He doesn't really get it, but he liked what he got.
I think Cadens favorite part was that Gavin needed his help to open everything.

Heaps fam party

Every year my parents do a really fun party with the best dinner that could feed hundreds(we all gained weight, I'm sure), the grand kids get some presents and exchange with each other, and the adults play a fun game where we get a lot of fun things.
Finally the kids got to open some presents!!!
Gavin doesn't quite get it yet, but he's cute anyway.
Caden knows he has to hold everything up for the photo op.
Gavin never held still long enough to get a good shot, Oh well!!!

Gingerbread houses & Temple Square

Val won't admit it but she was trying to win the contest
It was a pretty cold night and we were all so glad that Val brought her hand warmers to share
the fam
Gavin just spaced out on all the lights

Boys sledding

While I was working the other day Sam decided to take the boys up AF canyon to go sledding. Getting Gavin ready was half the task
Just like the kid on the Christmas Story.
Gavin was not a fan of the whole thing

What you can't see is Gavin bawling his eyes out
Yes, Caden went off this jump and caught some air!!!!
I hope that Sam planned for a stopping point because it looks like he'll just keep going. They had a ton of fun so I'll have to go next time.

Meeting Santa

Never at this age do they wish to see Santa
Caden on the other hand was very direct and to the point.
He wants a shark ship form Costco and he informed me that the elves can't make the box so he told him to make sure to get it from Costco.
This was at Kids Village (Cadens school) and not the best photo I must say

The Creche

We went to the creche in Midway and saw tons of different manger sets. They even had one on the end of a match stick carved into it and you had to look with a magnified glass. Caden enjoyed the puppet show they put on and sang.
Then we got a little crazy and dressed up for a photo. They take your photo and print it out on a post card for free. This photo is one that someone took with our camera
(not as good as the other copy)
The snow has made Caden think that every day is Christmas, it'll be a long month waiting.
Caden went in the back yard and went sledding with all the big boys in the neighborhood and cruised down the gully with no fear.

Ban lifted!!!

Finally after that crypto spyridium (?) virus breakout babies are cleared to swim again. As you can see Gavin was a little unsure at first.
Caden, my little fish does flips off the side and now is learning how to dive. He can swim pretty good and is a lot of fun at the pool.
This is Sam and Caden under the bucket that dumps water, not so fun!
Hopefully we don't get sick again from the water because this is a really fun thing for us with this super cold weather.

Surprise to Sam

I wanted to surprise Sam and redo our messy closet that was designed very basic and space wasting, so when he was at work we took on the project starting out with a trip to Lowes.
My good old Dad came down to help me. I'm so glad he did, I thought it would be a small project but little did I know (14 hrs later). It took us about 8 hrs for the shelves and drawers and then all of the restocking and organizing, what a pain!!!!!!
Poor Gavin was neglected parked in front of the tv with Baby Einstein on repeat, I guess he got bored after a while.
After all our hard work, cutting, measuring, and such it looks great here's a small glance of it. Yay for organization!!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Some of you may remember the pure excitement that holidays bring, this is a child that could hardly contain himself. Oh the joy of being young!!!!!
That joy we talked about quickly faded when the total fear kicked him in the butt! Caden was super scared of anything with noise, skeletons, well to be honest anything that isn't a happy pumpkin.
Gavin showing his true form as a lion
(I chose this costume because he walks around growling and it was on sale, bonus!!)

Sam did a great job on the pumpkins!!
Grammy and Pappa came down and brought a yummy dinner and helped with the trick-or-treating, since Sam had to work. We topped the night off by going to the firestation to see dad and of course the fire truck (it never gets old).
Thank you Grammy and Pappa for the fun night spent!!!!
