California baby!!!

We had a wonderful time in California.  I know I am posting this a little late but it takes me a while to get back on track when I go on vacation.  The kids absolutely loved the trip.  It was so fun to see their faces.  Stokelie loved all the rides and Caleb did pretty good too.  They were troopers. We did a lot of walking and I was surprised how well they did.  Yes they complained, but not as much as I thought they would.

John has said that he refuses to fly with me because anytime I fly anywhere something happens.  I vowed not to complain about my luck until something actually happened this time.  I didn't want to jinx anything.  Well, we made it there great.  However, our flight home was less than perfect. We got to the airport at 7:30 a.m. and because of planes being overbooked and flights canceled we didn't board our plane until 5:00 p.m.  Because the lady at the gate wouldn't let us board our first plane when we tried it wasn't our fault we missed the plane and we were able get out on a direct flight.  Thank goodness.  And we also got trip vouchers for each of us!!  So I guess ten hours in an airport is okay since we all have tickets to go somewhere else!  But to top it all off the heat in our car quit working about a week before we left so the 2 hour drive to Detroit at 3 in the morning and the drive back at 2 in the morning were extremely cold in 10 degree weather.  We must have looked so ridiculous.  We had our coats and luckily we had blankets for each of the kids.  Good times (I can't wait to get a new car!).

It really was a great trip.  Lots of fun memories, both good and bad.  All part of the fun right?   I am excited for the future when we can go on more of them.  I think our kids our hitting the right ages for a lot of fun things.

Sorry for the plethora of pictures.  I had 500 to choose from.

9 years and counting....

Today is mine and John's 9 year anniversary!  WOW!!!  I can't believe we have been married that long.  I am surprised by all the things we have done in these few short years together.  We have bought two houses, and sold one.  (Hopefully one more soon).  Bought and sold two jeeps!  Moved to a foreign country with only the things that would fit in our geo prism before our one year anniversary.  Been apart for months at a time for Johns school.  Three months being the longest.  Had two beautiful children that John delivered!!  (Had the anesthesiologists to hold my hands).

That's John taking Cage out of my tummy.

Moved back to the states with an addition to the family, and again with only the things that would fit in my luggage, in or on the car.

Moved to Brooklyn and back again real quick.  (Not the best of times).  Cried when we found out we were coming to Michigan and am now crying that I have to leave.  Laughed a lot, cried a lot, both good and bad.  Spent many hours laughing with each other, (those who know John real well will understand).  Job hunted together for a permanent place to call home.

We have done a lot together and will continue to do a lot.  I look forward to the next 9 plus years that we will have together.  I hope our lives will calm down some but know that with the kids getting bigger my life just might get more crazy.  If that's possible.

I know John probably wont read this, but I wanted to say how much I love him.  He has done and continues to do so many things for our family.  The sacrifices have been many and I am so grateful for his work ethics.  He works hard and doesn't have much time to himself.  Even though these past 9 years have been crazzzzzy.  I would do them all over again, even New York.  I hope we can have as much adventure in the next 9 years as we have had in the first.  I love you John!
