another nail

See Ziggi waiting at the station to pick up Himself.
See Himself stagger from the London train a little worse for rich food and drink care of the tax payer and the Home Office.
See Ziggi clock the small Harrods bag he’s carrying.
Hear Himself say what a long and arduous day he’s had and call into dispute the parentage of the Home Office Civil Servants.
Hear him belch softly and commend the lunch of foie gras and lobster and free flowing booze.
Hear him say he just managed to sneak out for 5 minutes to buy a present for Ziggi.
See Ziggi smile.
See Ziggi note that although the bag is small, it’s just the size for some serious bling.
See Ziggi drive home at 100 mph with one hand, the other lovingly caressing the knee of Himself.
See Ziggi open the Harrods’s bag.
See the present.

See Ziggi alone in bed with the door locked.

Which idiot was it first said 'it's the thought that counts'?

I am developing a strange fondness for Himself.

See Himself spending a couple of nights on the sofa downstairs. I think the only worse present would be a vacuum cleaner. I got that one year when I was married. Needless to say my couch got a lot of use.

Mr P. had a similar sense of impending glaciation when he gift-wrapped an ab-buster for Mrs Rine's birthday a few years ago.

You may have seen it on the news, but the surgeons did a marvellous job of removing it.

D - it isn't is it?!

V - it must be inversely propotional

C - that might be cutting off my nose to spit my face so he has one strike left (this week)

M - how did you know that's where I shoved them?!

Oh My Word!
Better to have never shopped at all than to have shopped and given something so excruciatingly selfish and thoughtless as 50 ways to pleasure yourself at work or whatever the hell it was!
How ghastly!

See all blogging SOs rush to Harrods-type stores for "proper" prezzies.
(Also, hear Dinah laugh.)

oh zeeeeeeee

:-(

I too have been the recipient of many such presents - well, not quite as thoughtful as that, but not what I wished for nonetheless. . .

:-/

maybe he just needs educating? it could be a wonderful learning opportunity. . .

;-)

on the other hand, chop it up and put it in his porridge, steal his CC while he's choking and go to Harrods yourself!

nah - just give him a big cuddle look on the bright side - he's young enough to have plenty of time to learn how to get it right, isn't he?

:-)

it is the thought that counts (where's Dr Spock for a bit of mind melding when you need it?)

HE - he's not selfish just misses the point sometimes.

MM - looking at another gg (although not spotty) next week!!

D - sometimes I wonder what goes on in the male brain I really do.

M - ? I expect so but I'm keeping them forever so that I can keep showing them to people and cause maximum embarrassment - although he strangely still can't see the problem . . .

ILTV - this is true - I have tried (unsuccessfully) (there's a lot of double letters in that) (probably more then there should be) to point out that 50 hilarious ways to have fun at home/in bed/on holiday etc would have been more appropriate as would a nice bit of sparklyness - perhaps I shall buy him 50 ways to leave your lover! (only as a joke obviously) (ish)
