Babineaux Family Pictures

I was super lucky to be able to practice taking pictures on the cute Babineaux family.
Here are a few from the shoot.

They were so nice to let me do it. Every time I do a shoot, I learn so much! It brings me one step closer to the photographer I want to become.

When our Prophet speaks to us

I feel so blessed that God has once again called prophets to guide His church. It is always so exciting when General Conference comes around (twice a year) because we can listen to him, President Monson, and other church leaders speak what the Lord wants us to know! I hope that I can instill in my children how important this conference is so they will make it a priority in their life! I also want them, when they are young and incapable of understanding all that's going on, to still look forward to it.
I think one simple way to do that is to have some FUN family traditions

Here are a few we have:

1. extra-Yummy Breakfast
(We are starting this one this conference and I couldn't be more excited)- Saturday morning, before the session starts, we will have a big yummy breakfast that consists of-bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, orange juice and... Cinnamon Roll Pancakes! yummy!

2. Conference Trail Mix.
I don't know about you, but I always stay WAY more focused when I have something in my mouth. We got this idea a while back from a teacher in Rexburg. We make the ULTIMATE mix(in my opinion:)).

I make it with mixed nuts, then EXTRA cashews (they are my fav), LOTS of m&ms, pretzels, CRAISINS, and CHOCOLATE Teddy Grahams.

3. Conference Sundae
We had this tradition growing up and are continuing it in our little family. You typically do this for the last session of Conference. Each question that is answered gives you an essential part of an ice cream sundae which will be enjoyed as a family afterwards!

What traditions does your family have? I would LOVE to hear!

Labor Day Weekend (finally!)

We spent Labor Day weekend with Tyson's family in Ashton where is grandmom and grandad live. It is so beautiful there!
One of the days, we went swimming and bridge jumping.
Here are a few pictures-

ouch!
ouch ouch!

And these last pictures are just random. They come from Grandmom's garden. I am obsessed with gardens and just CAN'T WAIT till I can have my own. So, I'm just showing off her work. Her garden is beautiful!

HUCKLEBERRIES

Tyson's family introduced me to an AMAZING thing! Huckleberry picking! Every year, we drive up into the mountains and pick wild huckleberries. They are so yummy. We make huckleberry shakes, pancakes, and jams with them. It is so much fun and brings the family together. It's a tradition I would love to continue with my family.
Here is this years adventure:

It's tradition to travel in the back of a truck on a mattress.
Really fun...although not so safe...or legal... haha

A little update for the family-
-I have thoroughly enjoyed this week with Tyson. Besides having to figure out all his school stuff, he was able to be home a lot with Aiden and me. He is super helpful around the house and helped get everything organized after moving. He is also such a good dad. I'm sure Aiden enjoyed him as much as I did. :)
- On Thursday we had a get together at a lake with all the GAs(graduate assistants).  We all brought food to share and the "assistant dean" over all the graduate students brought a boat. It was fun to see who Tyson will be working with.
-My mom and Holli came to visit Thursday. Holli needed to go MISSION shopping. woot woot! It was a short trip but SO MUCH FUN! We all went to see 17 Miracles. I had already seen it but wanted them to see it and they LOVED it.
-My mom brought up a bunch of veggies from her garden for us to eat. I was in heaven.
-Tyson and I discovered that Netflix has 8 seasons of The Cosby Show. I almost fell out of my chair! I loooooove the Cosby Show. We have been watching episodes off and on. That is one FUNNY man.
-Aiden has turned 3 months! He has learned to fling himself backwards if he doesn't like something. oh joy. He also has started to lift his bum in the air when he is lying on his back and kick his legs at the same time to scoot away a little bit. This is especially frustrating when we are changing his diaper. ha ha

Miss you all! Hope you have a great week!
