Father's Day weekend
We had a really fun weekend for Father's Day, starting off with Ashley's tap recital, going camping at Metzler Park, and ending with a BBQ at Grammy and Grandpa's. I have to say our kids have the most amazing Father and Grandfather I know. Both of you are so loving and amazing role models for all of us. We love you to pieces and feel blessed to have you in our lives. I hope we celebrate you enough because you deserve it and more!

Tap recital
On Father's Day weekend, Ashley had her tap recital. This will be her last dance class at Mt Scott Community Center since Martha, her teacher since she was 3, is leaving to teach with her Master's degree. She was a great teacher and Ashley learned a lot from her. Although she liked tap and got the hang of it pretty quick, I think her heart is in ballet. So, we'll try a dance studio in the fall and see where it goes.

Kindergarten Graduation
How did my baby grow up so fast! Ashley's kindergarten graduation was a big deal, her class had been practicing so hard for the big night in front of the parents. They had speaking parts (Ashley was the first one and volunteered to do so!), they sang songs and said a bible verse that they had been working on. All of the kids did great. One of my favorite parts was when they asked Ashley what she wants to be when she grows up she said "a rock star!" Surprised all of us and gave us a good laugh, we thought she was going to say teacher! Afterwards we went out for yummy ice cream to celebrate.

Backyard fun
We are having such a great start to summer and all the kids want to do is play in the backyard. Ashley's favorite thing right now is jump roping and she's getting really good at it. She's also got a hula hoop that she's trying to master, but that's a little more difficult right now. Isaiah loves to ride his little bike, but we got him to ride his big bike by attaching a little "car trailer". That did the trick and he would ride it around the patio for hours if he could. Another one of their favorite things to do is take care of their babies outside. They drag everything out from the playroom for them, but play so well together I can't say no. They pretend to be in different situations with their "children". It's really cute!

Workshops, Parades and Graduation
Brian was at Skamania Lodge for a conference on Saturday so Grammy and I took the kids to the Home Depot workshop and then met up with Grandpa to watch the Rose Festival Parade. We loaded up lunch, chairs, blankets, the wagon and took the Max downtown. We decided to get off near Pioneer Square since the parade had already started and hoped to find a place near the end. We lucked out! Front row, in the sun, by the announcer and bathrooms! Couldn't have planned it better. The kids had so much fun watching the parade. Isaiah boogied down to the drums and Ashley was in awe of the Rodeo Princesses and horses and even spotted her teacher in the parade. We got back with plenty of time for Isaiah to take a late nap and then we all headed to Lucas' graduation at the Memorial Coliseum. It brought back so many memories of my high school graduation, but I was disappointed that I didn't recognize any of the teachers. It doesn't feel like it was that long ago. Time passes way too quickly. On Sunday our neighbors had an open house for their graduate and afterwards we headed to Bonnie and Al's for a BBQ to celebrate Lucas' graduation.
