Our story...

We met on a single parent dating web site.  I sent him a flirt and he flirted back and then a few e-mails back and forth and then texting and finally our first date!  It was May 3rd and love at first sight for both of us!  We were both extremely tired of the games people play on these dating web sites and ready to call it quits! But luckily for both of us we both decided to stick it out and be good sports and try to meet that special someone!  Who knew we actually would!  My life has been changed forever since I met and fell in love with Jamie and I could not be happier!  The kids all love him too and he is so good with them and so patient.  He has his boys every other week from Monday to Monday and we like to hang out and spend time with them and get to know them.  Jake has been very good with the girls and he and Taylor have a lot in common (Taylor has been in Peoria staying with his papa and Uncle Willie since May 22nd).  JT is not home as much - he stays very busy with base ball, his job, the gym and his friends.  We have great kids and we love spending time with all of them!  Jamie works hard and has long hours from 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday and he never complains.  He is very thoughtful and always helping in whatever way he can.  He is generous to all of us with his time, love, patience, and his home (We are always there and he wouldn't have it any other way!).  We are very blessed to have him in our lives.

I hope this answers most of the questions everyone has had for me about him.  I have been getting a new question lately from everyone... and believe me, when he and I set a date, you all will be the first to know!  After we tell our five children of course!  LOL!

Lunch with the Girls

I'm sure everyone in Mesa knows by now that the Mattas Restaurant on Main Street has closed it's doors. There are rumors that they will open at a new location at some future date, but for now the clientele has re-routed to the Mattas Mexican Grill on Higley and Brown. So when the craving for mexican food from “Granny's restaurant” as Rylee used to call it hits, we go to the Mattas on Higley for a fix. When Granny worked at Hogue Printing we would go to lunch at the Main Street location a lot. Hence the reason for calling it “Granny's” restaurant. When we arrived and placed our order, we sat at one of two real booths and lo and behold, Rylee had a grumpy face about something. I told her I could see a smile hiding back there, and she hid her face so no one could see her big smile. Jordyn is wearing one of the many things she got from Rachael and Kamber.  She absolutely loves this brown krinkle skirt with the pretty sparkles on it. She has had so much fun going through the bags of clothing and shoes and jewelry and purses. She is in fashion heaven. Thanks girls for thinking of us. Lunch was great and we'll look forward to a new Mattas sometime in the future. Just can't ever get enough chips and salsa. And we can never forget the after dinner chocolate/peppermint. Gotta love it.

Roses Are Red

Jamie sent me these roses at work a few weeks ago to start off our first kid free weekend together.  The delivery did not make it on time, they got there after we had all left so I got them on Monday instead and everyone at work was so jealous of these gorgeous flowers and of course wanted to know who sent them.  I let a few of my close friends at work read the card he sent with them. That made them even more jealous!! It read:
I have waited all my life so far for you.
You are the princess I have dreamed of since a child. Thank you for coming in to my life.
Just the start of a wonderful weekend.
Love Jamie
He is so very sweet and thoughtful and we had such a good time that weekend.  He helped me finish moving - not the funnest thing, but he wanted me to be able to stop stressing about getting everything moved and done and he did all the hard work!  He really is sweet.  Then we drove up to Sedona for some peace and beautiful scenery.  It was gorgeous and he took me to his favorite spot where we wanted to take a picture, but the batteries in the camera were dead! So I guess we will be going back there with batteries!  We went on a little hiking adventure and ended the night with an amazing dinner on a gorgeous restaurant patio.  We really enjoyed our time alone and learned a lot about each other.  Heaven knows I am a talker!  I look forward to our weekends together and the adventures we will find.  Thank you Jamie for the gorgeous roses and for sharing your life with me.  I am very lucky to have you in my life.

What Time Is It???

I am sure every parent wishes that there kids would not wake up at the crack of dawn!  Even though I consider myself to be a morning person I have always longed for my children to sleep in later!  There is a solution to this problem - living in a basement with no windows!  It is great!  It is so dark down there they have no idea what time of day it is!  If they wake up in the morning and it still looks like night time, then they just go back to sleep!  This just proves my theory that the only reason they were waking up was because they saw the light of day and did not want to miss out on anything.  I never did figure out what it was they were afraid they were going to miss out on though...oh well!  Problem solved!

Surrender The Booty

Jamie and I went to the Kenny Chesney Poets & Pirates Tour concert this past weekend at the University of Phoenix Stadium.  It was a blast!  There were tons of people everywhere!  Lines for everything - and the bathroom lines were the shortest!  We stood in line for one hour for a lemonade and another hour for food and another hour for souvenirs - so worth it to get these commemorative "Surrender the Booty" underwear!  The concert was amazing.  We were down on the floor and had an awesome view of the stage and the performers.  Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney both blew everyone away with their performances!  I think my favorite thing to do at these types of events sometimes is people watch!  There are some real characters in this world and you never know what you will come across!  Jamie and I had such a good time and can't wait to attend another concert in search of more rare undergarments!

The Stuff of Life

In life there is stuff.  Stuff you need, stuff you don't need, but want it anyway and stuff that is just there. I don't need any more stuff!! Making some headway in the house in the wake of our latest move has been more than challenging! The painstaking task of sorting through the remains of who knows how many people's belongings (the basement has served as residence to many!) is one I hope to never relive!! But at last, after only 4 short weeks of hard work and very literally my blood, sweat and tears, I now have functioning living spaces!  All the stuff of life has been dealt with and it is so nice to feel like we are living in our home now instead of a refugee camp!  Who knows...I may even use the kitchen - I said may, let's not get crazy!
