Yesterday we went shopping at Costco, and a couple grocery stores. I took Jakob out in his Baby Bjorn! He really didn'y mind it. He always had to be high enough over my shoulder to see exactly what was going on!! He holds his head up and looks around so anxiously. He's taking so much in.. you can see it in his eyes. He's learning so fast, and he's growing so much. He's over 13lbs, and is only seven weeks. What a big boy, and sooooo cute. I bet he'll be such a ladies man. I think that might run in the Dudley family. ;) I can't wait for you all in Cali, Texas and Oregon to see him. His smile, dimples, and giggle with just melt your heart. (I know that my two nieces melted mine. I think all three of these babies look alike). Oh, thanks to Shelly, and Steph.. I found great deals on diapers, and baby wipes at costco! Thanks!

Aunty Tanny (Tania) has a new hair cut. She looks so pretty with her new do. She's graduating University this spring. A four year program for Psychology at University of Toronto. Good for you Tania!! You'll go far in your profession :)

Oh my goodness! Who is that guy? It's Uncle Brad!! He's so far away, that the only way we can see him is through web cam. But he's sure excited to come back to see his sweet nephew Jakob, in April.

This is that last family photo we had taken just before Matt had to leave. It was hard to say good bye, but i am so excited for the next time we can have our picture taken! We sure are a full family now "eh" Matt!

These are a couple of the most recent pictures of our baby boy Jakob! He's growing up so fast. His facial features are very fine, but they are changing all the time... over night it seems! Every time i look at him, i am amazed at how special, and perfect he is. And he's so funny!! We sure love this little guy lots and lots.

it's been so long since i've blogged!
we had a great week away, house sitting. now it's back to family life... except i'm not with my whole family. i miss Matt so much, it makes me sick. i feel so sad that he and Jakob have to be apart from each other. it's not fair. i pray and hope with my whole heart that this time goes by quickly, or is resolved faster than currently planned. i have never felt this way before. i am so in love, and my heart is so full because of Matt and Jakob, but so broken because my baby is gone.
i have a gym membership, and pilates, and friends and of couse my number one priority, Jakob to keep me occupied. but my mind and heart are always thinking of my sweetness. of course. i have to start focusing on the wonderful, the happy ending. not the dragging time, the sadness i feel.
today i went to my cousin's house to watch a movie called Scoop. it was pretty good. tomorrow i'm taking Jake to two dr. apts, and then for his first swim! i really wanted Matt to be a part of this. we'll be going with my cousin, and aunt.
hey, does anyone have an opinion about daycare at a gym? should i take Jakob? matt and i think it's too early, without his shots.... anyone..?
well, american idol is on, so i must go watch. i should be doing my cardio.. but i can't do it until i know my boy is home safely.

Sleepin on the side

WE thought this was cute, its saturday morning and we were all laying in bed, and we fell back asleep and when we woke up, Jakob was sleeping like this. Probably for a few hours he slept like this. he's pretty darn cute.

Today i decided to spend some good quality time with Jakob. We sat on our bed, and watched CMT. He really likes country music!! He was smiling when a woman would sing, and laugh when i tried to sing with them.... lol. He is so alert. My doctor says he can't see long distances yet, but he looks at so many things! His favourite things to look at are up above. He loves to watch patterns, and faces. He really likes light. Oh my goodness is he ever getting big! I think he will weigh atleast 15lbs by the time he's two months. He's solid, like a rock. Just like his daddy!!
Anyhoo, i am so glad it's friday. That means we have the weekend together. Maybe a movie, and dinner. That is our life pretty much. I think tomorrow we'll go on a double date with my brother David and Tania (and Jakob). So, moms, what do you do all day with your babies? I would really like to pick up some hobbies. I'm starting to scrapbook, but i need more pictures. What is fun, what are your fav. things to do (that you're able to do with a teeny babe)? I can't wait until we can go outside!!
I am so excited to move to California. Sometimes, i get these bursts of excitement. I just want to run around the block, and scream about how happy, and excited i am to go, and for all of our paper work to be completed!!! It's going to be soon. Even though it feels like forever right now, with our circumstances.
Well, it's time to eat, and start our weekend!! Yay!

Good morning!
Jakob and I are up early this morning. I am going to do my cardio, because our doula Stefanie is coming over for a visit this afternoon. She was so great with us. I really am happy i had a birth coach for Jake's delivery. It wouldn't have been the same with out her. But we all know who my real hero was!! Matthew :) He was the best.
Last night we got Jakob some gripe water. He has some mad gas! I thought he sounded so cute, the way he would grunt, and coo. Now i know it's because he was so full of air! Poor guy.
Hey, does anyone have any good ideas of a great valentine's day (evening) dinner? I would like to make Matt something really special. I am so happy he decided to stay for our first valentine's day, my b-day and our first anniversary. It's going to be so great. I wish we could keep him with us, or go back with him.
Anyhoo.. The baby boy calls (i love him so much!). And i must jump on that treadmill.

So today I took Jakob to our new pediatician. I didn't know we had a new baby doctor or appointment until i called my own family doctor's office this morning. Jake's red blood count is a little high, so he wanted to discuss seizures, jaundice, and his liver. I was very worried before we went to our appointment, but when we sat down with him, he told me Jake is fine. He has something called breastmilk jaundice, and it clears on it's own. Jakob was also weighed and he ways a gigantic 12 pds(ps. matt write this, so its his spellng miss take)

Blogging with a Baby!

I am really excited about this blogging! My sister in laws both do this, and i love to read their new updates, and see the awesome photos. I think it's going to be so much fun to keep a journal of our days, activities, and thoughts. It's great to have a family of my own to write about, and share with our other family and friends. And i love that i can post pictures!
So, today Jake and I were hanging out. He is smiling more, and starting to laugh. He's so so cute. I can't believe he is mine!! I love him so much. I gave him a bath, and he pooped in the water. It was really funny because we were both in the big tub. I was standing with my pants rolled up. I think it startled both of us!! Also, he's starting to focus more. He's keeping his eyes on me while I walk around. He coos at me, and cries to be picked up. I have more fun, and feel more like a mom every day. It's the best feeling in the world! :) He keeps me so busy. And he's funny to listen to, talking to himself while i do my cardio. I can't wait to see and hear the things he'll do and noises he'll make tomorrow!

P.S, I can't wait for him to meet his two new cousins Sadie and Paige. I can't believe how fast they are growing ! I am so excited to be an aunt, and sister in law. Can't wait to meet you guys! haha!! :)
