I've been training all summer long for the Cedar Half Marathon. It's over and it was great. Final time 1:52. 8.34 minute mile average. I have to say thanks to my awesome neighbors who helped me get into running. A year ago I never would have thought I'd do something crazy like this. I think I'm addicted now. Anyone want to join us?

Been Busy
We had a house in the parade of homes this year. I was really happy with the way it turned out, but what a pain and stress to decorate.
I had two days to clean and decorate the entire house for the beginning of the parade.
I have a great appreciation now for what goes into those homes and getting them ready on time.
Luckily I had help from Rocky MOuntain Furniture. They were nice enough to let me use anything I wanted from the store.
Also the piano gallery from St. George delivered an awesome baby grand piano for free. They're great!

Utah Summer Games
Friday I ran the 10K in the Utah Summer Games. I've been training for a while and was very nervous, but it was awesome! I ran my fastest time. I think I found a new addiction though. Racing is fun! I'm planning to do the Cedar half marathon in September if anyone wants to join me!

Red Cliffs
.jpg)
Last weekend Derek & Harmony came for a visit. We went to Red Cliffs. I don't know how long it's been since I've gone there, but it is one of my favorite places! Steve was busy with Stake Conference meetings, so it was me and the boys (and lots of help).jpg)
This is my favorite spot. You have to hang on to the rope to get past. I think it's awesome right by the waterfall. Here's Logan and me crossing this part together. What an adventure! His shoe fell off in the middle of it, luckily he caught it with his foot. I had to put it on for him while holding onto the rope. What fun! .jpg)
Caleb's getting to be a pretty good hiker.

These silly boys were so excited to get outside after the long winter. Logan kept yelling, "Yes, I finally get to see a river!" You'd think we never get out!

Ski Day!
One of my favorite memories growing up was skiing with my family. My dad was the Special Ed. Teacher for the school district and he would take his students skiing all the time. He also taught them all how to ski! I would often go and learn along with them. My dad and I got season passes for a few years too, and we would go every Saturday and holidays. So I guess it's kind of a family tradition you could say. All my brothers and sisters love to ski/snowboard too.
I was thinking I was about Caleb's age when I first learned, so I decided it was time to go. Luckily my dad came along too. I knew he could teach anyone.
Caleb did great! Of course at first he struggled and fell quite a lot taking me with him most of the time, but by the end of the day he was awesome! I can now say I know fear. You know, the fear mothers have for the safety of their children. Obviously I was the only one with any fear today. Caleb had none. I would say probably the last six times down the hill, he only knew one speed. Fast! I would try to tell him to slow down and take more turns down the hill, but he didn't think that was as fun. He now says I'm a chicken! Just watch the video for yourself, and you'll know what I mean! He would go so fast and I don't think he fell down once all afternoon!
I couldn't keep up with him as you can see. He went so fast down the hill I could no longer see him. Oh, and sorry about the filming. Remember I was trying to ski and film at the same time!

History Anyone?
So I have a good excuse for not posting lately. Somehow the cord that load pictures from my camera to my computer has been eaten, yes chewed up. It no longer works, and no we didn't get a dog.
So here's a post for you minus pictures.
A few weeks ago Caleb brought home a book from the school library. A United States History text book. Every night he picks a page or two that look interesting and we read it and discuss it. He kept rechecking the text book out, because of course we didn't read it all in two weeks. We told him to get a different book next time because we already have some old text books we could use at home. So what does he bring home now? A book about World War II which he is completely fascinated with. I have to admit I'm learning a lot too. I just don't remember being this interested in history, especially at age 7.

Christmas
This picture was taken on Christmas Eve. We always get new pajamas and then go for a ride around town to look at Christmas lights. It's great! When we get home the kids are already asleep. We have been so blessed. As I look over this last year, I am so greatful for so many things. Life couldn't be better!
We had a great Christmas! We had fun making gingerbread houses and eating them. We were in Cedar again this year. In fact, I don't think we've ever left for Christmas! I hear most of my friends saying they want to just stay home, but I think I'm ready to go somewhere next year. We'll see!
