Sarah's Baby Blessing

We were so lucky to have so much family here this weekend for Sarah's baby blessing. Steve's parents, sister Jenny, brother Mike and nephew Sean, cousin Tom and his wife Jill were all here along with my parents, Christopher and Elizabeth, sister-in-law Marianne and brothers Andrew and Jamie. It was so wonderful! We have such supportive families and we are so grateful for them.

Sarah was as cute as could be in her blessing dress- the same dress my little sister Elizabeth wore almost 14 years ago when she was blessed! I can't say enough how grateful we are to have her as a part of our family. She has also been going to sleep before midnight the past two nights and we are so proud of her! We are just keeping her awake more during the day (which is easy to do with Mary around her) and she is adjusting her sleep. Steve is especially thankful as he is the one who stays up with her into the wee hours of the morning, he's such a good dad.

Aunt Caroline's Visit

My little sister Caroline is one of the nicest people I know. She was able to come visit us for a few days during her Christmas break before she headed back to BYU and it was such a good visit. The kids had a blast playing with her and it was just so nice to see my little sister. We love you Caroline!

My New Favorite Thing

When my treatments began I knew I needed to plan something fun to look forward to when my treatments end. After several weeks of being in pajamas and loose clothing (first because I was pregnant and after that because loose clothing was easier to put on because of my shoulder surgery) I decided I would go on a HUGE shopping spree after my treatments are finished and my hair starts to grow back. I'm talking buying whatever I want whether it's on sale or not shopping spree!

I saw these slippers and thought they would be one of the first things I buy during my shopping spree, but after a couple of days of thinking about them I had to go ahead and get them. They are so comfy and perfect for keeping your toes warm!

Games

We are big game people, especially Steve. He got three fun games this Christmas, Gobblet from my parents, Lost Cities from me and Set from his sister Jenny. They are all really good games! We've spent some fun evenings this week playing together. If you're up for a new game check out one of these!

Go Vols!

We were really excited the Tennessee Volunteers beat Wisconsin in the Outback bowl! Thanks to my brother Jamie for providing attire for little Sarah to show her Tennessee Spirit!

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year together as a family. I know I've said it before and I'll say it a million times more, I love being with my family.

Our Holiday activities included making gingerbread houses, taking treats to friends and attempting to carol (after two houses where the kids were completely silent as soon as we began singing Steve and I decided to stop trying, we don't sound so cute without the kids singing with us), a Christmas Eve dinner of appetizers (picked out by David) which included bagel bites, twisty pretzels, jalapeno poppers, pizza and cookies- not very nutritious but very fun. Christmas morning was so fun with Santa presents and gifts, french toast and hot chocolate. Since it was just us we decided to go out for our Christmas dinner and had a great dinner at a Thai restaurant nearby (the only restaurant besides IHOP that was open Christmas day!). We played games together the rest of the day and just loved hanging out with nowhere to go and no schedule to adhere to, it was great.

I wish you each a wonderful New Year and hope that 2008 brings you and your family much joy. I couldn't decide which pictures to include so I'm posting a bunch! Happy New Year.
