| My view most of the time - could have been worse. |
| That's better! |
| Geddy was determined to bring a rock home with him (on the far right) but after I told him he couldn't take things he had to find the perfect spot for it. Then we see this rock where other people had left their rock offerings so Geddy was okay with leaving it there. |
| Crossing one of the many plank bridges to get to The Grotto. |
| And again, this time having to put his arms out for balance. |
| My handsome boys! |
| Finally, The Grotto. It was actually pretty crowded there so I am surprised I was able to get a picture without any strangers intruding upon it. |
| Geddy splashing around. |
| Not too sure if he is liking getting his shoes wet (and yes I did pack an extra pair). |
| There they are again! |
| Wait, what is this? The whole Hirsche family in one picture? |
| Scott hiked to the top of the little waterfall. Ged and I opted out. |
| The kid is just determined to never give me a natural smile. |
| Another bridge - gained much confidence by the end. |
| Mom and Ged. Silly boy! |
| Campfire at Maple Lake. Yeah - his hot dog wasn't getting much heat this way so Mom took over. |
| Hot dogs aren't my favorite or Geddy's, but there's something about them being cooked over a campfire that makes them edible. |
| At Maple Lake, lots of snails! Everywhere! |
| Binocular boy! |
| Let's Go! |
That was our hiking/picnic adventure for the summer. We had planned on so many more, but things just have a way of not working out the way you want them to. Oh well, there is always next year. And maybe next year Geddy won't be terrified there are bears and Sasquatches and werewolves in the forest that are going to get him! Where does he get these ideas?!
