Spring has sprung . . . hopefully!

Just wanted to post a few recent pictures of Bear. It has started to warm up here (we will see how long it lasts), so we have been playing outside a lot. Bear is getting so big and very adventurous! He is definitely a wild man!

Bear and Grady watching the birds and squirrels outside. Mom let us out!!!

Bear loves his dog, and Grady seems to tolerate Bear. She really does love him too! :)

Playing at one of the local childrens museums.

Bears hair was a little wild after his nap the other day. Auntie Jess says he needs a haircut. I think he is rockin the long locks. We did cut off his mullet, which was a sad day, so I am prepared to let it grow wild!

Hope this finds our friends and family well!

I am a bad blogger . . .

Ok so obviously I have neglected the blog. I am going to try to get better about that.

The Selas are now living in Durham, NC where Kyle is working at Duke University. We have been here since July of 2012 and will be done with our commitment in July 2013. Then, who knows where we will be.

OUR GOAL IS TO BE BACK IN THE NORTHWEST! We need to remember this!!!

We are both excited and scared for yet another "beginning", but we are looking forward to potentially settling down somewhere for a while. We want to buy a house, plant some roots, etc, but who knows. Another "adventure" may present itself.

Bear is 15 months old now and such a fun kid. He is quite the character and loves to play all day. Kyle says Bear is happiest when he is outside or naked, and it is true. I am still at home with Bear and we have a great time every day. We love this kid!!!

So I am really going to try to be better about blogging from now on! Hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!

Spring in Savannah

It has been getting warmer and warmer here in Savannah. I think it is suppose to be close to 90 degrees today. I know all of our friends and family in the Northwest die a little inside when I say that. So we have been enjoying the weather lately at the beach and pool. Bear got to get in the pool yesterday for the first time and he loved it. I think we have a water baby on our hands!

He is not quite sure about it at this point.

We are going to be heading to Alaska for the summer. We are so excited to get to spend some time there with family and friends. It has been difficult to get up there while in the military because we have been stationed so far away. We are hoping for some great weather while we are there but I won't hold my breath. Kyle says Seward summers can be a drag.

Cory came to visit for a long weekend. We had a great time even though she brought the Portland weather with her.

Daddy and Bear.

Love this little guy!!!

Blogging is hard!

Yes I said it! Blogging is hard . . . when you have a baby of course! I did have the best of intentions when it came to keeping up with my blog but soon realized that a baby takes up a lot of your time . . . I mean A LOT of time! Regardless I wouldn't change a thing. Bear is the greatest little guy and such a good baby.

Lots has been happening since our last post (obviously). We had many visitors after Bear was born. It was great to have everyone out to see Bear after he was born. We were able to go home to Idaho for Christmas which was so fun. My sister has a baby boy Cy who is3 months older than Bear. It was so cool to see them together and have all of us together on Christmas. We also got to babysit Cy a few times while Jessica worked. Here is one of the pictures of the boys we got taken while were home.

Fast forward and Bear is now 3 and a half months old. He changes so fast and is at a really fun stage. He smiles and coos and is almost laughing out loud. He can recognize our voices too and turns to look at us when we talk to him. He also has learned to roll over from his belly to his back. One morning we got up and found him in his crib on his back. He was so proud of himself! Soon he will be motoring around the house. We just can't believe how much joy he has brought to our lives! Don't know what we did without him!

Big changes are in store for our family soon. We are going to be leaving this military as Kyles initial commitment is up. I can't believe it has been 7 years . . . one deployment and lots of moving it seems like. It will be a hard transition out of the army, but we are both ready to be closer to family and live in a place we like. We still are not sure where we will be going, but hopefully back to the northwest. We really miss winter sports, hiking, kayaking, etc so somewhere that has those things would be ideal. We will keep everyone posted as we make our decision. It is scary but also exciting to be starting this new chapter in our lives.

Here are a few more pics from the last few months. Hope this finds all of our friends and family well!

Time flies . . . . .

I can't believe Bear is already 5 weeks old. I feel like we just left the hospital a few days ago. Kyle and I are adjusting to being new parents and loving every minute we are with Bear. He has been such a good boy and joy to have in our lives. We have had lots of visitors over the last few weeks.

My mom and aunt Sandra were here for about 10 days after Bear was born. It was great to have them here to help me and spend time with Bear.

Kyles dad Mick was here for the last few days as well. We went to Columbus GA to celebrate Thanksgiving with Micks side of the family. It was so great to see everyone and meet more of Kyles family.

Uncle Daryl also came to visit.

Gail and Vince are here now, so I will have to do another post soon. We are just loving life with Bear and getting ready for the holidays.

Introducing ............Bear Michael Sela

We are so happy to introduce our son! Bear Michael Sela was born on Monday, October 24th at 9:27 am. He weighed in at 6 lbs 15.6 oz, and he was 19.5 inches long. He has been such a joy and we are completely in love. I will post some more pictures when I get some more time. Hope this finds everyone doing well.

Proud papa!

Ready to go home.

Grady is adjusting to life with Bear well. I just think she is worried we will forget about her.

Off to our first Dr.s appointment.

I think its pretty obvious we are in love with this boy!

Babymoon in St. Augustine, Florida.

We decided to get away one more time before baby comes for the weekend. We have been wanting to go to St. Augustine. FL for a while and since I am till feeling pretty good we took off. It is only about 2 hours south of Savannah and the beaches are a lot nicer than they are here. We got a cute room on the beach and spent most of the time swimming and sight seeing. The town is super cute and very historical so there was lots to see and do.

Grady was a very tired girl after swimming every day. Hopefully she will be going to the beach with her new brother soon.
