The Pee-pee Teepee

I check out this website called Babysteals.com each day. I have only ever bought one thing off it but I still like to look. Today I found something for my little boy that just made me laugh and wonder who would ever really buy that!! It is a teepee to go on the little boys parts so he doesn't pee on you while changing him. Seriously?? You should go check it out.

The sleepover

If Ben is ever gone at night playing halo or soccer then I take the chance to have a sleep over with my girls. They are always asking to sleep in bed with me so this is their chance. Last night we watched a movie on my bed. Daisy was already in her own crib but she could hear the movie so she called out for me until I gave in and got her. I love this picture because it is a perfect representation of my kids-Heidi looks like a nerd with her "100 days of school" paper glasses on; Kaylee, while not looking nerdy is still dressed as Peter Pan, the outfit she asks to wear every day; and Daisy is just silly and cute.

Sunny day

I love the weather out in Memphis. It is the middle of January and, with the exception of one very cold week, the weather is wonderful. We've been able to play outside all week.
This is my new favorite picture of Daisy.
She was so cute playing on the slide.

Kaylee was good about helping daisy go down the big slide. I love that I live so close to a park and that the girls have a good time together.

This is all the video I took for her birthday. It is like six minutes long but if you just want to see the song (which is really cute) then go to about the last two minutes or so.
For all those who heard all about Mrs. Stafford from Heidi you will see her on the video. I have to say that I LOVE her teacher. She is wonderful and I highly recommend her to anyone whose kids will be attending Altruria. Altruria is a great school. Every time I go there is always something new I see in their administration that I like. Her school still does the flag salute and a minute of silence for prayer or reflection. All the teachers and workers bow their heads during that time. I don't know if they are really praying but I love the example they are setting for the children. Then yesterday I came for Heidi's lunch and everyone in the office knew who Heidi was and that it was her birthday. They knew without me even having to say who I was. These were people that I didn't know even dealt with her. But they all knew and talked about how they told her happy birthday. I just love her school.

At school

I've never had a birthday during the school year so this was fun. They sang a song which I'm going to post later because it was so cute.
Her cake...she picked out a bridal sower cake for the flowers.

Kaylee and Daisy got to sit with Heidi and eat.
Daisy was super cute.

Heidi's 6th birthday

Year One
Turning Two
Three
Four
Five
And SIX!!!

Today is heidi's birthday! I've been excited all week, pretty much all month. I love birthdays! It's weird to have a kid so old. She is a funny girl. I would have to label her 'nerdy' because she is just a dork. When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she wanted a watch, a magnifying glass, piano books and a helmet WITH knee pads and elbow pads. Knee pads and elbow pads?? What a loser! But I also love the person she is becoming because she is a lot like me. She loves to read, learn new things, is responsible, likes to cook, and overall I can't forsee having to worry about her spiritual well-being in the future. She keeps the rules better than Ben and I do.

Her birthday breakfast and presents. She got her magnifying glass, piano books, helmet (with NO pads) and money towards her watch. From Ben and I she got a scooter.
We let the girls buy presents for each other from the dollar store. They picked out pinwheels and a slinky for Heidi.
Our attempt at a good picture. You can tell that Kaylee really was trying to smile for me.
She loved her scooter but unfortunately Heidi is not a very coordinated person. Sports are not going to be her thing. She did alright though and loves her scooter. She wants to try riding it to school one day.
Today we are meeting for her lunch and then later taking cupcakes for the class snack. We'll have more pictures to put up later.

Our new years party

We had a little party for New years. We got some fun things to eat and let the girls do a slumber party. They picked to watch the movie Hook (Kaylee's new favorite). They stayed up FOREVER though. We thought they would asleep during it but they were up until 11:00. We didn't even want to be up that late.
Daisy with her plate of treats. Gummi Bears, M&Ms, popcorn and cream puffs.
The slumber party.
Going back for more.
This last picture of Daisy is just for fun. Her growing independence and fun but also frustrating. I'm glad she is doing things on her own but sometimes she does things she shouldn't like turning on the bathroom sink and just letting the water run. But she is so proud of herself.

Our trip to Oroville

I didn't take many pictures while in California, and even the ones I did aren't very good (turns out there was something smeared on the lens so everything looks funny). But the trip there was busy. Lots of work, lots of cleaning, and lots of fun for my girls. My girls love going to California. Kaylee even calls it home though she has never acutally lived there. Here are a few pictures I did take. This was Daisy's daily activity-dumping the cat food.
We also spent our first weekend there going to the temple with Becca and Kyle who both went through for themselves that day. The temple is a sacred experience for those of our religion. When we are baptized we make a covenant with Heavenly Father to take Christ's name upon and always remember Him. The temple is similar in that we make more covenants with our Heavenly Father, ones that, if kept, will help us make it back to His presence after this life. It is always a blessing to attend the temple but much more meaningful when it is your own siblings going through. I hope that one day will find that I can be in the temple with all my siblings and their families since eternal families is the ending goal of the work done in the temple. Although let's face it, it's going to be a miracle if Scotty ever makes it there! (Just kidding mom, he'll make it)
More pictures of Daisy enjoying herself. My kids are so spoiled while around their grandparents. They can do no wrong.
My favorite smile that daisy does now. i think she looks like my mom when she does that.
And here she really looks like my mom. My mom eats almost every meal in front of the computer. Daisy stole her seat one night to eat pizza, play on the computer and color in my mom's notebook. (That was one thing that my mom wasn't thrilled with).
The trip ended with Becca's wedding. I didn't have time for pictures (plus Erica took enough for all of us) but I was able to get a few of Daisy when we were all trying to clean up afterward.
I loved the dresses.
By the way my feet have never hurt so bad in all my life like they did that night. I was hobbling like my grandma by the time I finally went to bed at 3 in the morning. It was exhausting getting everything done. But her carnival turned out to be a hit so it was worth it.
Then of course our flight was late and we had to stay the night in Utah on the way home. Thank goodness Erica was there to let us crash at her place. The cousins got some time to hang out together without the hoopla of the wedding going on. They had a slumber party in Pacen's room. Though I cried when I realized I wouldn't be back with Ben for another 24 hours it was nice to be with family that night. The girls loved it.
