Pledge your support to preserving Wright’s remaining buildings for generations to come.

Despite Wright’s singular impact on the world of architecture and design, more than 20% of his built works have been lost to demolition or neglect. Over half of those remaining have no legal protection. The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy is the only organization whose mission is to facilitate the preservation of them all. Your unrestricted tax-deductible donations ensure that the Conservancy is prepared to act quickly and decisively to face the next threat.

Ways to Give

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

What is a qualified charitable distribution?

A qualified charitable distribution is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA provider to a qualified charity. Qualified charitable distributions are excluded from your taxable income, which reduces your risk of entering a higher tax bracket.

Who can make a qualified charitable distribution?

Individuals who are 70 ½ years old or older can make a QCD from most IRAs, including traditional, rollover, and inherited IRAs. If you are 73 or older and are subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from your IRA, a QCD can satisfy all or part of the amount of your required minimum distribution.

What are the advantages of qualified charitable distributions?

There are several advantages to donating through qualified charitable distributions. First, you’re supporting a charity and a cause you care about! Second, QCDs lower your taxable income, unlike other distributions from your IRA account. Third, QCDs count towards the IRS-required RMDs (required minimum distributions).

Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)

What is a donor-advised fund, and how does it work?

A donor-advised fund is an investment account for charitable giving. Once you have opened a donor-advised fund with a qualified sponsoring organization, you can make tax-deductible donations of cash, stocks, or non-publicly traded assets to your fund. These donations grow, tax-free, until you elect to grant money from your DAF to a charity of your choice.

Who can open a donor-advised fund?

Anyone! There is no age requirement for DAFs.

What are the advantages of donor-advised funds?

There are several advantages to giving through a donor-advised fund. First, the funds you place in a DAF are typically eligible for an immediate tax deduction. Those funds can then be invested for tax-free growth, which means you can potentially make even larger donations over time. Second, DAFs simplify your recordkeeping by consolidating all your charitable contributions and tax receipts in one place. Third, DAFs offer additional tax benefits such as income tax deductions for cash donations and the reduction of capital gains taxes on donations of long-term appreciated assets.
