Shades Concert

There was a massive, 3-hour concert on Laurelin tonight, performed by the Shades band of the kinship The Shadows. While the lag was awful (close to 200 players present, I bet), the music was sublime and the company the best kind. The concert was held in the glade outside Celondim, and the theme was very elvish - between songs the storyteller would recite old elven legends and history.

Infinite Loop

Oh hahahaha, I ripped the good old Gold Saucer theme from FFVII and put my hobbit to play it on loop in the middle of Michel Delving. Gods, I love this tune.

Music for merriment

Photobucket

I went and ripped a load of old NES, SNES and PS1 RPG midis into .abc music files, so that I could play them in last night's RP session - and most of them sound really great! It's a wonder how music designed for old high-pitched, beeping consoles can still sound so good, especially when played with better "instruments".

Okay, I may have some serious emotional attachment to some of the songs, but still, they're great.

Any tips on other old games apart from the obvious Squaresoft/Enix titles that have good soundtracks? (need midis)

I just love the creativity on the Laurelin server, the video above is one such player's original composition, played using the LotRO music system. *server pride*

Next time you run Sammath Gúl, Barad Gúlaran or the new raid, remember to play Ayreon - The Castle Hall.

Here's a Spotify link too.

To be played after each wipe in the new raid, when you're climbing the stairs one more time: Ayreon - Tower of Hope.
