Fall is in the air
I found this fun background and I just couldn't resist putting it up. The weather has been so great here that it already feels like fall. Football season has started and some of the leaves look like they are trying to change. I hope I can spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors (even if the outdoors is just under our carport).

Hero
There was a status update that was going around on Facebook the other day. One of the questions that was asked was who your hero was. I always remember being asked this when I was a kid. I can't remember what my answer was then but I know that my answer in my adult life is my Grandpa Lee.
He was an amazing man. He always helped anyone that needed it. I remember taking walks with him to get the mail, to go and visit Helen and Cliff and Aunt Mick. We would take rides in the truck through the back roads. I liked to sit in the back and roll around. He always gave the best hugs. There are a lot of memories of him that have faded over the years. That makes me really sad. I didn't realize how nieve I was though. I didn't know that he smoked my whole life. I remember that he would just go outside to the garage. I don't know what I thought he was doing but I never thought twice about it. He always had a scent about him and I will never forget that. It will forever be ingrained in my mind (and my nose ha ha).
I remember the last time I saw him. I was living in Salt Lake and I was able to get away for a day when they were in Logan. I don't know if they were on their way to California but I knew that they were heading there for the winter. When I walked in the house, he asked if I lost weight. Lol. We had known at that point that he had cancer. He looked as though he had aged several years in just a matter of months. I remember trying so hard to keep my composure. I knew I had to be strong. The second I walked out the door I broke down. I knew that was going to be the last time I saw him.
I have been so blessed to have such a great person in my life. I will never forget the things he taught me. I will never forget him. I love you Grandpa.

5 Years and Counting...
Today is our 5 year anniversary and I can't believe it! Time has flown and for once, Rob and I are writing this post together :) We thought it would be fun to reflect on the things that we remember from our wedding day.
The first thing that both of us can think of was stress. It was RIDICULOUS how much stress we were under. Our stresses were family, having the wedding at our house, getting everything ready and there is so much more.
The other things we can think of is all the food we had - we had ice cream donated by one of Rob's vendors, cookies and deli trays from Dan's. Cutting cake basically by ourselves, cleaning up by ourselves, opening our gifts with just Christine, getting to Snowbird at like 2:00 in the morning. Rob says how beautiful I looked (gag), the AWFUL flowers from Flowers on Vine. We did the ceremony and the reception in the backyard, it was hard getting the switch-over done. It was miserably hot so there were not very many people there. I wish that we would have gotten better group pictures. The shoes I wore were aerating the aisle as my dad and I were walking.
Sadly, the list is long and not filled with many happy memories. When (and if) we ever make it to the temple we will make up for the not so happy wedding that we had. We have grown so much in the past 5 years. We have been to hell and back. Hopefully we only have bigger and better things to come!

Man oh man I sure suck at this! Again, it's because we have nothing exciting going on in our lives :)
Let see... since I last blogged... I have been to the doc and gotten another clean bill of health for the cancer. Rob has just been working up a storm and I am still looking for a job. I am still making some jewelry but am in a little bit of a slump.
Our computer went in because it was broken. Anytime you changed the angle of the screen it would get crazy lines all over it and you couldn't use it unless you got it at just the right angle. It came back yesterday and we are very excited. They told us 7-9 days for repair including 2 day shipping both ways and surprisingly it really was 7 days. I was very impressed by HP.
It's that time of year again to register the car. Boo. The cost keep going down for the money we have to give the state but it sucks. Can't they just be happy that you have a car and let the registration slide?
We had a really good Easter. Amber's little brother and family came down and we had an easter egg hunt with the kiddos. They seemed to have a lot of fun. I also did baskets for everyone. I love doing that kind of stuff.
I have been doing yard work on our street and it has been fun to get outside and do some work. Yesterday it was raining and today we got a little bit of snow. Again, Boo! I hope it doesn't take too long for the lawn to dry out, I am way too OCD to let it get long.
Dad and I are in a "competition" to lose 10 pounds first. $10 is on the line so I want to win! Okay, not just for the money, more for bragging rights. Amber, Luke and I have been taking walks about once a week but I think I need to step up my game a little. From doing yard work, I think I am just helping the muscles and not burning fat.
For having not much to say, I sure came up with what seems like a lot when I go back and read through it. Rob has been doing some geneology work since he got a prompting while listening to General Conference. (We went to Sunday mornings' session live. It was cool but I fell asleep, go figure) So I think I need to be better about trying to work on our daily history. It might not mean much now but I guess to someone down the road it could mean something.
I go now.
