LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN

After 13 years at Costco, I can honestly say, Rob has reached perfection...
at least as the bakery manager!

CAUSE I HAD A BAD DAY

Today pretty much sucked. It was just one of those days. I was up all night last night not feeling good, so it didn't start off right. Then I was in the car running all over the valley trying to accomplish about thirty different things all on a time restriction. My final errand this evening was me needing to go to the DMV to register Rob's car. I was not taking Nikolas and Israel though, after me being in the car all day. I dropped them off with Rob at his work. I had just pulled in the DMV and Rob calls and said, "Dude, I just got hit!" I couldn't decided which to be more upset about, the fact that he had my two babies in the car or the fact that he was driving my baby he had just given me for Valentine's day. My next dilemma was that it was 5:30 and the DMV closed at 6:00. There was no way I was coming back another day. It was the third DMV I had been to today. (Another story) So, I hurry and took care of my business, then left to go check on everyone. Fortunately, Rob, Nikolas and Israel just seem to have a really bad case of whiplash. My poor car has a really jacked up bumper. You can't open the tailgate. What a nice way to end an already bad day!

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

How sweet is this...
We were at a ward party tonight and my neighbor saw a rainbow for the first time. She was so fascinated by it. It was so cute!

SHOULD'VE BEEN TWINS

These two are so much like each other. Sometimes it makes me crazy! Good thing they are both named Robert. Nikolas is named Robert Nikolas and just goes by Nikolas.

WELCOME TAXI!

Rob has had his car longer than he has had me. When I met him back in 1993 he was driving his 1989 Acura Integra. Back then, it was a pretty sweet ride. He got it when he was in high school, when it was only a year old. This is his license plate.

Of course now it doesn't have the same innocent meaning as it did when he got the plate. His car has taken him back and forth to work for many years. It has been a very good car. It has over 267000 miles on it now. When Jamie got rid of Taxi, we thought it would definitely be a step up for Rob. He now is going to have a car with automatic windows, automatic locks, air conditioning, not stick shift, can fit the whole family in it if we have to, leather seats, has over a 100,000 miles less, and is ten years newer. I guess he is worth it:)
So long, XSTASEE! You will be missed.
Welcome to the family, Taxi! We promise to take good care of you.

LUCKY #13

Thirteen years ago Rob took me to the Jordan River Temple to be married for time and all eternity. He wanted to go to the Salt Lake Temple. I wanted to go to the Los Angeles Temple. Since we couldn't agree, neither of us got our way. It didn't matter, as long as we could go to one together. Well here we are after 13 years, 4 moves, 4 kids, a few cars, a few careers, some promotions, some ups, and some downs. I wouldn't trade Rob for anything in the world. Thanks for everything Big Papa! I love you! 13 has always been a lucky number for us. HAPPY 13th ANNIVERSARY!!!!

This was back in 1997, I was about 5 months pregnant with Alexis.
This was
just a month or so ago.

Buddy Walk 2008

Yesterday we had the annual Buddy Walk. It raises awareness about Down Syndrome. It also raises money. The money goes to support the UDSF (Utah Down Syndrome Foundation) for the years events. All the parties I post about, scholarships for camps, scholarships for dance classes ( Down's kids LOVE to dance), are all funded by this. In the past, we have gone to a different Buddy Walk put on by a different foundation, but they got sued by the UDSF. So now they are disolved. I was pretty upset, because Uptown Down's did a really good job. I mean, come on, who really sues a non-profit organization. Anyways, UDSF has a few kinks to works out. They ran out of t-shirts. That really bugged me because you pay for one and they don't have any left???? Israel and Nikolas didn't get one. They should have reserved some for the kids with Down's at least. It ended being a fun time anyways. I really appreciate all the support my family gives us for these events. Thanks to all you guys who were able to make it!

FIREPIT, FOOD, FRIENDS, AND FUN!

Luckily we have some cool neighbors, because we like to sit out on the weekends late at night and solve all the world's problems. WRONG! Well, kinda wrong. We don't solve any problems, in fact we probably create a few. We all put our kids to bed then usually gather in my backyard for some treats. Then we end the night with a dip in the hot tub. The reason I say we create some problems is because a lot of times, our night doesn't end til 2 or 3 in the morning. I know, we act like a bunch of obnoxious teenagers, but we have a lot of fun doing it. You never know what you'll see late at night in the Western Springs subdivision. We've seen some crazy parties, a guy overdose, cops called, caught people toilet papering. Unfortunately the nights aren't going to last much longer. The weather will only allow us to have our parties for a few more weeks.

THE GOLDEN YEARS...

Today would've been my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. They got married on September 5th, 1958 in the Los Angeles Temple. I am so grateful these two found each other and got married. Without them, there wouldn't be a me. I wish my Daddy could be here to celebrate this with my Mama. HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY!
