Christmas Festivities 09

I am so sad the Holidays are winding down! I love everything about Christmas and this time of year. We have been busy busy with family and it has been so much fun visiting, playing, seeing movies, eating Kathleen's toffee, etc! Christmas eve-eve we had the Nelson Family Christmas Dinner. Of course the food was delicious, but the real treat for me was afterward watching the kids put on the Nativity! Clark dressed up as a wise man this year and loved every minute of it! He insisted on wearing his costume the next day right when he woke up. After the craft and nativity, the kids got to open presents from Grandpa and Grandma Nelson and Clark was in heaven with his Buzz and Woody! I had to include a picture of Clark sitting in front of the train because that's pretty much all he wants to do as soon as we walk through the door. Can we say obsessed! Christmas Eve we crashed the Weed Family gathering and ate dinner and read the story in Luke. After, the kids played Nativity BINGO...something our family had done forever. Clark opened a Scooter from Aunt Carly and had Katie and Chloe pushing him around the house all night while Rob and my Dad tried to assemble ad 500 piece marble apparatus while watching "Its a Wonderful Life." Clark was so excited for Santa to come that he didn't even put up a fight when bed time rolled around. Rob and I were so excited to set up his Thomas the Train. Christmas is so fun with little kids and it keeps getting better as he understands more of what's going on. Christmas morning we did the whole stocking thing and then surprised him with the Train when he was finished opening his presents. HE DIED! He literally was jumping up and down. Christmas day Clark had us taking his train and tracks everywhere we went. Rob probably set it up 5 different times. You think he would get sick of it after a few laps around ,but oh no he goes and goes and goes until we are forced to disconnect the battery. We are gonna miss Emily/Jared and Tom/Jaycee who are now headed home. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. YOu will notice the pics. get a little better come Christmas due to my BIG surprise from Rob !

Our Weekend

I don't know what it is about rainy days, but I have the hardest time getting out of my pjs and getting things marked off the to-do list. This morning we did make a trip to the grocery store, but now Clark is sleeping and I thought I'd update the blog. This Saturday we had our Ward Christmas party. Clark was terrified of Santa last year, so this year I was curious how he would react. He was very timid, but wanted to make sure Santa knew he wanted a train for Christmas, so he bit the bullet and climbed up on his lap. He only lasted long enough to respond to Santa's usual questions with "train" and then hoped right off his lap and grabbed a candy cane. Amy, just for you I took the baby bump picture Sunday before church..my first and maybe only profile picture of my growing belly. So here you go, 6 1/2 months along.

Thanksgiving 09

So after 3 years of eating 2 Thanksgiving meals, we decided to alternate between family's for the Holidays. This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Weeds. My dad prepared a family scavenger hunt this year...the start of a new family tradition. All the kids loaded into the suburban and we were off on our hunt that led us to different spots that held some kind of significance to our family. We had so much fun and after 12 stops we returned home to find the meal ready to be served. The food was delicious and Clark especially loved his "Spicy Water" aka sparkling cider that he said in a very raspy, deep voice. It's so fun getting together with family especially when there are new additions...Melissa we are so glad you are in our family. It's amazing how fast the family is growing. This time next year there will be 2 new, almost one year old, boys. After dinner, we headed over to Grandpa Rays for pie and cousin time. Clark loved running around with Myles and Cash and we had fun visiting with the cousins. It was a great Thanksgiving.

On Firday, Rob, Clark and I went on a little adventure. We headed towards Superior to find apache tears and hike to some caves. Since the movie "UP" Clark is really into going on "adventures" and wearing his adventure backpack stuffed with old maps, and little nick knacks he finds amusing around the house. He was in heaven as we dug around for the apache tears and called the rocks his treasure. It was so fun having Rob home with no school or work. We can hardly wait for Christmas break!!!

As far as the pregnancy goes, Im a little over 6mo. and am feeling really good. Clark accompanies me to all of my dr. apt. and loves listening to the baby's heart beat and actually does a pretty good impression of the sound. I am crossing my fingers that the Holidays help the time fly by b/c we are all very anxious for baby boy number 2 to arrive. No set names but if it were up to Rob it would be walter...Im not kidding. Happy Holidays!

October Happenings

I love the holiday season! We've had fun doing halloween arts and crafts during the day, and making festive treats and meals. The pumpkin bread bowls I got from theidearoom.blogspot.com...a really fun blog everyone should check out! For one of the weeks this month we watched my sister Carly while the rest of the fam. was out of town. We had so much fun renting movies, going out to eat, celebrating her 19th birthday, and of course carving pumpkins. Carly is the greatest aunt and logged several hours playing trains with Clark. Seeing how there were 5 girls in our family and only 1 boy, most of the toys include barbies, dolls, etc. Clark did find entertainment with a barbie car and of course the kitchen stuff. He was in heaven! We are excited for trick or treating this weekend....woohooo!

PS...........if you haven't already heard, we are having a BOY!!
