This week both Jaime and one of my co-workers pointed out something: I've been far less diligent with the blog with Davis as I was with Kate. I guess that's something about my personality that I'm keenly aware of: I tend to be very interested in and committed to new projects but lose focus relatively quickly as time progresses. After Kate's arrival, I was taking hundreds of pictures and blogging about nearly every development ("Kate lifted her head up!", "Kate can smile!", "Kate resembles her great-great-aunt Myrtle!"). But with Davis, I seem to be waiting for more significant milestones before dropping a post -- at this pace, my next three blog posts could be: "Davis wows kindergarten teacher with mastery of times tables!"; "Davis turns heads of college football scouts!"; "Davis to wed Italian socialite!"
So I figured it was time to post a few more recent pics of the little guy. He has now learned to smile, particularly when tickled under the chin:

Next is my favorite outfit of Davis's. He rocks the camo like a little So Cal dude:
He's still looking long and lean; although his cheeks are starting to fill out, there's not much meat on the rest of him. Maybe one day he'll be a high jumper like his mom (Jaime insists she used to high jump but I've never seen it).
UPDATE 5/21: And as of Wednesday night, he can roll over from his front to his back. He has a strong neck and arms, and can now use his arms to push himself up into the "Downward Dog" yoga pose, if you know what that is -- from there, he just leans to the side and gravity does the rest, and he rolls to his back. Color me impressed.
As for Kate, she's taken up a new hobby: dancing. We're hoping that her grace and coordination will soon catch up with her energy and commitment:
However, there is one style of dancing she's explored that we've told her is not going to be allowed:
