Well on the 22nd of May I get a phone call from a kid named Luke asking me out on a date for the next day. I really wanted to say no but instead I said I have to work all day so I will have to see if I can make. You know giving myself a little room for deciding if I wanted to go or not. So I went home that night and talked to my mom about it and she said that she thought I should go but if I really didn't want to then I didn't have to. Then my dad came in the room and said "Sis I really think you need to go on this date" That ended the night for me I went to bed and got up and went to work on the 23rd. It was almost time to go home and my dad was waiting outside for me so he could give me a ride to my date. How sad is that? I was not thrilled about the whole idea and cried the whole way over to Randolph where my date was. He said that he felt strongly about me going on this date so of course he gave me a hug and kiss and told me to just have fun if nothing else. So I went in to Charity Argyle's house looking like poop because I had work a 10 hour shift that day and had food on my clothes from waitressing. I walked in and there was Millie with Mike (who are getting married on July 9th! YAY!) and Charity with some kid I had seen in church the week before but wasn't sure who he was and then there was Luke my date sitting alone. So I went and sat by him and we finished playing the game Quirkle, and then we decided to play Catch Phrase. Well in the mean time I was so stinkin hungry I wanted to eat everything in sight, well the only thing there was some scotcharoos. I seriously just kept eating them and I would say "I'll just eat the little one" well the little one eventually turned into the biggest one! Anyways we ended up playing Catch Phrase girls against boys and I was in the middle of Andrew and Luke. I really didn't know either of them very well, I actually had just met them both that night. I mean I had seen them before but I didn't remember. I guess they knew me from the first trek our stake went on when I was an 8th grader. Well the night was over and we said our goodbyes and thanks for the dates and Millie and I were on our way home!
Sunday the 25th rolls around and I went to single's ward like always but after Sunday School was over I booked it out of there 1. because Clay was speaking in the 1st ward sacrament for his farewell and 2. because I really didn't want to give Luke the opportunity to ask me out again. (in my defense I just really didn't want to date this summer, nothing against Luke he was a great kid) So then that night I was sitting at home and my cell phone rings with a 307 number again. What the H!! All I could think was how in the crap are all these kids from wyoming getting my number. So I answered it and it wasn't Luke who I was expecting to call it was Andrew, the boy that was on the date with Charity. So I talked to him for a minute and he asked me if I would like to go on a date with him tomorrow (Monday the 26th) I said yes hesitantly and asked him what we would be doing. He said he wanted to go canoeing down the river and then have dinner. Well if you all know me I liked the outdoors but I wasn't the biggest fan I would rather be inside cooking or reading a book. So we ended up talking for like 45 minutes that night.
Monday May 26th comes and I was getting ready for our date. I had an extra pair of clothes in case we got wet and I was on my way to Kemmerer Wyoming. A place I told my mom I would never live! I had been to Kemmerer but just to the Stake Center not anywhere else. So I pull in to Kemmerer and had to call Andrew and ask how to get to his house, he gives me directions and I pull onto a dirt road and there was his house. I had to get myself geared up for this and then I went in.
He had Chicken Alfredo, salad and garlic bread on the table ready for us to eat. We enjoyed a great meal together and then for dessert he made me scotcharoos. This is what he said "I saw how much you liked them from the other night so I thought I would make them for you tonight!" Sweet kid he noticed how I stuffed my face with half the pan of scotcharoos.
It was thundering and lightning so we decided not to go canoeing we played a game and watched a movie. While watching the movie he totally tried to kiss me and the first time I didn't realize what was happening but the next time I did and we kissed, on our first date! Who does that? Andrew Kaiser! Well after that I started to have such a weird feeling and I got freaked out so I told him I had to go home and clean my grandpa's house because I didn't do it last week. (I didn't really have to clean my grandpa's house right then I could have done it later in the week but I wanted to get out of there ASAP) so he gave me a goodbye kiss and I was on my way. (He thought that was the last kiss he was going to get from me because I left so quick and he knew I'd lied to him to get out of there) Well I got in the car and called my mom to tell her that it went well and that I think I really liked this boy. Then I called my best friend Lauren and told her I think that I really liked this boy and wasn't sure what to do.
I got home and called him to let him know that I had made it home and he asked me out on another date and I said yes. So on Tuesday we went to Evanston to the movies with Luke and Melinda. When Andrew was dropping me off I told him to come in and meet my family. He was nervous of course but he did. We sat and visited for a little while and then Andrew had to leave. When I walked him out to his truck my mom leaned over to my dad and said "Don't buy anything, because we're going to have another wedding" Andrew and I talked and kissed and he was on his way home.
On Wednesday I had to get my wisdom teeth out and then we were on our way to California for a family trip. While on the trip Andrew and I talked every night and texted throughout the day. My dad and I were walking along a peer and he asked me how I was feeling about this boy and I told him I thought I loved him. Well my dad said "If he is the one don't let him go!" So I got home on Monday evening from California and I baked him cookies and went to Kemmerer to see Andrew. We sat down and talked about how we were both feeling. We decided we really liked each other and wanted to keep dating. Well it was getting late and I had to leave, Andrew asked if he could say a prayer before I left. While he was saying the prayer I pictured him and I kneeling across the altar at the temple getting sealed for time and all eternity to each other.
3 weeks exactly from our first day on June 16th he proposed and then 2 months later on August 30th we were married in the Logan Temple!
