On this day 31 years ago....

I was born.  So here's to being born!

And hats off to Mom who had 8 children- 8 rounds of morning sickness- 8 births!

Oh the Joy

Today was a bit rough.  Yes, all my blogs will revolve around my never-ending nausea etc., etc.
So I became ill and ran to the bathroom.  When I tried to shut the door a blanket got stuck in it and it didn't shut.  Cole and Aidan were in the family room listening to my very graceful barf session. When I emerged Cole said,

Mom, why you being a frog?

Better Late than Never

So I haven't posted in a hundred years.  At least that's what is must feel like to my faithful readers ;).  Let's just say I haven't been feeling real well.

Okay, you mostly all know we're expecting a baby at the beginning of January.  If you didn't know then...we're expecting a baby at the beginning of January!

This really is the most dreaded and awful part for me.  Feeling nauseous 24/7 is not my idea of a good time.  The reward is always worth it, but it's really difficult to keep my head in the game.  So Terri got right on the bandwagon and started thinking of baby names for me because she "knows my style".  She said my baby naming style is like my decorating style- simple, clean, straight lines.  And honestly, she came up with a few that I really liked.  So far my number one pick is...

Grace Katherine .

Scotty likes it too.  And if it's a boy we'll call him Gracie and he'll wear pink on the weekends.

In other news, how about this weather.  Remember my old post about the signs of summer?  Well, today we are fulfilling one of those dreams.  We'll be blowing up the long awaited pirate pool.  Hopefully I can take a few pics and post them soon.  I actually ate breakfast and lunch so far today to that is helpful.  Those pretzels I had for dinner last night just didn't cut the mustard, but it was all I could stomach.

Today at therapy Scotty told his therapist we were expecting a baby.  Now mind you we see these people twice a week.  So his therapist (a guy!) says, "you're not even showing".  I said, "Of course not, not when your about 2 minutes pregnant (6 weeks actually, but you know what I was saying).  Scott had been at therapy for about an hour at this point, so he looks at Scott and says, "How will I be documenting that for therapy?"

On that note... have a great day.

I took the chance...

Ok.  I have seen things like this that spark my interest more than once.  This one read...

"A Utah family could win a $50,000 home remodel later this year by entering a contest sponsored by AmericaHomeToday.com. "
"The contest will be open until Sept.1, and families are asked to send a submission describing why they are deserving of a makeover.  The public will be able to view the submissions online and can rank families based on their need for the makeover.
The top 10-ranked families will be evaluated by a group of judges this fall to determine which family needs the most help." -Deseret News

Terri came out to assist me through my day of the flu.  I showed her the article, and we decided to do it.  I checked today and our story is posted!
Here is the link:

Our story is entitled "Taking the next step".

If you'd like to give us your vote we'd love it.  My hope is that we could make some changes to make our home more accessible for Scott.

Love ya,
Amy

Hey there!

I'm back.  I've enjoyed the updated blogs and pictures.   This is just a little update blog, nothing fancy since my head isn't working at full capacity (insert joke here).  I had a migraine today, so I'm in that fog.

First off, I was called as the Activity Days leader for the oldest group of girls, of which Chloe is a part.  (she's the youngest in that group).  I didn't tell her I'd been called and after I was sustained to the "Primary Board" in Sacrament meeting I sat down and she asked me what class I was teaching.  I told her I was in Activity Days and she asked if I was in charge of her group.  I said yes.  Then Chloe said, "This is the best Sunday ever!"  It was so sweet.  Let's just hope she feels that way when she's 16 right!  Well, we had our first activity on Tuesday.  My partner and I took the girl's to the Timp temple to take their pictures for a Mother's Day gift.  The girls made picture frames for their pictures.  Some of the girls wore their baptism dresses.  Chloe was excited to wear hers she just loves it (thanks Jen) and she had to have indoor pictures when she originally wore it because it was winter.  So here she is in front of the flowers.

My partner enjoys photography a lot so we had a good time together.

When Chloe got home from school on Friday she announced that it was the best day she'd ever had at school (she's really having a lot of "bests").  She was named Student of the week over the intercom!  She got a free lunch to Cafe Rio.  The award says,
"Outstanding Student of the Week
presented to Chloe Browning
for
being an excellent student, prepared, helpful and a great example."
Her teacher nominated her.  I was very proud.  What's really sweet is that when I asked Asher about it he said, "Yeah I heard her name over the speaker and I was so happy.  I hope I can be a student of the week someday too."

Scott's finished with his semester and so he's home.  He's taken up drawing.  His friend Calvin gave him an art kit over a year ago.  Scott didn't even think of drawing with it when he received it-he just put it away.  So, much to my delight he had me get it out the other night.  He printed some cool pictures of the internet and he started drawing.  Chloe and Asher both saw it and asked who drew it.  They were surprised when I said Dad.  Chloe said, "I was sure you'd say Emily!"

We had family night on "maps" the other night.  We talked about our Heavenly Father's plan and what kind of maps we can use to help us return to him.  At the end of the lesson I got out some maps of Disneyland and asked what they could be used for.  This is where I revealed that we would be going to Disneyland in June.  Oh the fun!  They were ecstatic.  Chloe immediately began doing extra chores for spending money and Asher talked about the Tower of Terror like he's ridden it since he was a small boy.

Well, that's about it for me.  Enjoy your weekend and Happy Mother's Day if I don't talk to you before.

I WON! I WON! I WON!

So on the drive home from therapy today we were listening to 107.5 and the DJ offered up free laser hair removal ($75 value).  I called.  I said, "I could always use a laser".  It rang and rang and rang.  Just as I pulled in the garage the DJ answered.  I blurted out, "I called about getting lasered."  brilliant.  Well, turns out I wasn't the first caller, but several other callers were just asking about songs, so I WON!

So tonight at dinner I took everyone's suggestions on which part I should get lasered here are the responses:

Chloe: legs (practical)
Aidan: armpits
Asher: arms
Scott: shoulders (nice dear, real nice)

I did offer to let Scott get the inside of his nose lasered!!!  He declined.  I'll bet $75 will be enough to get my knuckles lasered.  Alright. That's it for me.  Happy hair freeness.
