Lake Powell with Our Kids

Our kids were all great and fun to be with. We played together, ate together, prayed together and the weather was perfect. (We missed Lee and Darla)
This fisherman LaVar, can't get enough fishing.... it didn't matter if they were big or small. He had a pole in the water every chance he could. All the guys also went on a charter fishing boat for a day. This part of God's vineyard was specular with every turn we took! This is where we were anchored with the house boat. We never tired of this beautiful view. We planned a family home evening for the kids. We had a skit, played games and had laughs with prizes.
WATER FUN!

The guys planned a synchronize swimming routine. MOST entertaining. Jan has it on video, we must get it!
Jan and Connie skydiving in the water. Taking it easy floating around on the tube. This is the life!

The kids had fun just being together.

Rainbow Bridge: was a sight to behold and so was LaVar in his new shorts!

NICE LEGS!!! All of us.... ♫ somewhere over the rainbow We saw awesome places, like this place we went through in the boat. The depth was around 150 feet.

We visited the Glen Canyon Dam.... magnificent.
Too soon, we were packing up for the drive home. Fun times had by all!

Thanks to Paul and Kim for the wonderful time!

Home

The Rasmussen Home; Summer 2011

Always a place of beauty and love! There is always room for a wander and those that are not home, there is always a yearning to return.
Why try to explain miracles to your kids when you can just have them plant a garden. ~Robert Brault

In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful. ~Abram L. Urban

Thanksgiving Vacation in Oklahoma 2010

An Attitude of Gratitude
"This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice,
and friends who help.
"We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues"
~Thomas S. Monson
Keith shot this nice 10 point buck just before dark and we helped him clean it and load it onto the Stealth for a short ride back to the house.
Thanksgiving with family, we are so very thankful for our family and their love. bottom right: And a dinner out.
We are thankful for great- grand kids, beautiful sunsets, Christmas lights (this is at Keith's work) and a simple ride on the lake.

Making Memories in 2010

We had a wonderful visit with some of our family from Alaska, Connie had a great time at the cabin, we took generation pictures.
This is my last traditional trip to Salt Lake City with my grandchildren when each of them turned eight years old . This has been a great opportunity to have them one on one and have a educational and spiritual experience . Thanks to Lee I made it through the last one!
I had a great visit with my family in Collinsville, Oklahoma, Shelby and Carter great kids. Shelby loves her room, Lee painted her graphic on the wall, Dalton is recuperating from back surgery. Lee and Darla has a lovely home.
We all had a wonderful time in Nauvoo when Tawni and Caleb were married in the Nauvoo Temple. Caleb's family also came and we enjoyed getting acquainted with them.
I love to play and visit with my wonderful grandchildren when I go to Oklahoma, we always have a great time.
The Ranch is a beautiful and relaxing place to go for me, but not for Keith and Jan , they always have some kind of project going on. They work well together.

The House I Live In

The House I Live In

The house I live in, a plot of earth, a street,
or the people that I meet....
The place I live in, the worker by my side,
The little town or city where my people lived and died.
The howdy and the handshake, the air and feeling free,
And the right to speak my mind out
That's AMERICA to me.
The dream thats been a growing for 110 years,
That we have grown to love all our family members dear.
A home for all God's children,
That's AMERICA to me!
The house I live in, the goodness everywhere,
A land of health and beauty,
With enough for all to share.
A house that we call freedom,
A home of liberty,
And it belongs to fighting people,
That's AMERICA to me!
