Diwali or Deepavali is incomplete without the customary humour.

Unfortunately, this year's calendar has provided some cause for mirth - for commemoration of a historical
catastrophe for India follows right after Diwali.

November 14th is CHILLUNS day (Chacha Nehru's birthday) in Nehruvian Stalinist India.

The day was/is enforced as "Children's day" (pronounced CHILLUNS DAY by Kanngress-men) in India's educational system - calculated to indoctrinate impressionable young minds with devotion & sycophancy to the Nehru dynasty - so that they would grow up be loyal subjects!

No justification was ever provided as to why that day
was celebrated as such - just a
statement that Chacha Nehru "loved" Children (sic)! His alleged "sacrifices" for the country would be drilled into our minds - along with gratuitous references to his clothes being laundered, allegedly in Paris!!

Perhaps, a dedicated family chronicler such as that Guha chap (also known as the "bowel movement historian") can educate us about the origins of this festival.

But, even a casual examination of the perverted political parlance in India - with the proliferation of brainwashed "secular" idiots in Indian society - reveals that the little charade has worked!

Now we cut to the chase. There aren't too many good options for Congress -- with Hazare's health going downhill, the novice Rahul could end up with a death on his hands, which would destroy his political aspirations forever. Or else Rahul "saves the day" -- after meeting directly with Anna, the young prince has a "change of heart" and feels moved to present to parliament an anti-corruption bill satisfactory to critics -- in which case, Manmohan, Chidambaram & Co get ditched.

That latter option would be more Congress' style, preserving the Family's future, while its generals have to fall on their swords, and bow out into the shadows. But we know from Indian and even Japanese politics, that tainted and unpopular politicians still get to remain powerful backroom men. The problem for Congress is that without corruption and black money to keep it alive, Congress could gradually be marginalized and superceded by more populist Leftist/casteist parties, just like its old opponent Janata Dal. That could one day lead to BJP aligning with Congress in the far future, like it supports Nitish in Bihar.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh defended action against Anna Hazare on the ground that the Gandhian leader's bid to impose the civil society's version of the Lokpal bill on the government is contrary to every constitutional principle.

"I am not aware of any constitutional philosophy or principle that allows any one to question the sole prerogative of Parliament to make a law," the PM said in a statement made to both Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.

In explaining why the government is not ready to engage with Anna, the PM said, "the path he has chosen to impose his draft of a bill upon Parliament is totally misconceived and fraught with grave consequences for our parliamentary democracy." ..........

And for once, I find myself in complete agreement with the Prime Minister on the limited issue of the supremacy of the legislature in a Parliamentary democracy. It is indeed the sole prerogative and responsibility of the legislature to legislate - laws cannot be passed at the whim of any motley band of self appointed "Civil society" activists.

Who elected Mr. Hazare, Mr. Kejriwal or Ms. Bedi to force their vigilante laws down our throats? Mr. Hazare keeps mysteriously robust health for a fasting octagenarian!
And I may hold a contrarian view to the gullible Indian Twitterati, the few thousand upstart Facebook activists who usually cannot be persuaded to get away from pointless social gaming on Facebook even when the nation is under attack from Jihadi terrorists. Contrast the deferential treatment accorded to Mr. Hazare by the #BROKERMDEDIA, ex: Burka Dutt of NDTV, with the derogatory and defamatory treatment meted out to Baba Ramdev - for the sole fault of identifying himself as a Hindu (gasp).

Contrast also the token "imprisonment" of Mr. Hazare in the salubrious environs of Tihar jail with the brutal suppression of Baba Ramdev's movement. There are stark parallels to the kid glove treatment accorded by the British colonialists to a certain Mohandas Gandhi Vs. the brutal torture, incarceration and suppression of nationalists such as Veer Savarkar, Shri Aurobindo, Bhagat Singh and Lokmanya Tilak.

The company that Anna Hazare keeps - is distasteful. My gut instinct is that anything advocated by a brutal anti-Hindu thug like "Swami" Agnivesh alias Father. Frank Anthony is surely against the nation's long term interests.

There is also a sinister conglomeration of assorted anti-nationals and anarchists like Sandeep Pandey (of ASHA) and Medha Patkar around Mr. Hazare (Yes, I will choose to refer to him, Jinnah like - as Mr. Hazare, not "Mahatma").

The gang of "eminent" activists, Magsaysay awardees et al, and pompous posturing by the US State Department (BTW, conspicuously absent when a Hindu Swami Ramdev's mass movement was brutally suppressed) - also gives a ring of truth to Manmohan Singh's suggestions of a "foreign hand" behind Mr. Hazare.

Apparently, the infamous "Justice" Rajinder Sachar, the proponent of Muslim reservations in the Indian armed forces has also added his voice to the cacophony clamouring for a "Lok Pal" - a voice that is completely devoid of credibility, more so after the Ghulam Nabi Fai expose, which also stripped him naked - as a recipient of the ISI's hospitality in various anti-national endeavours.
This seditious judge is also a part of the so-called civil society's intellectual masturbation.

"Jasmine revolutions", (Ukraine), "Solidarity" (Poland) etc. have traditionally been CIA/ Vatican operations. Corruption is admittedly a very real and annoying problem in India that has grown in scale in the past couple of decades. However, Hazare style anarchy is not the way to address the issue. The corrupt politicians, judges, bureaucrats etc are born out of the same "civil society" as the "reformers". Let's admit it - in the present day, we are a corrupt society - for various reasons, including 1300 years of subjugation under foreign rule.

An appropriate way of dealing with this - is the traditional Hindu way of self realisation, character building, man building, nation building - as espoused by the RSS and Baba Ramdev. The extra constitutionalism embodied by Hazare's "Civil society"
is a recipe for disaster - it will pave the road for unraveling of the Indian state and intervention by hostile foreign powers.

Incidentally, why is Mr. Hazare so reticent about addressing the issue of the approximately $20 trillion of Indian money stashed away in foreign tax havens?

And why is the "Civil society" group so exercised about this one proposed vigilante rogue institution of "Lok Pal", that will do nothing, except empower the chosen ones in the same "Civil society" group?

We already have a surfeit of institutions - the CAG, the CVC, the CBI, the Supreme Court, PAC, Parliament etc. Much to my distaste, I find myself in agreement with Manmohan Singh regarding the supremacy of Parliament. If Manmohan Singh is growing a spine, in the background of the Shroud of Turin's much lamented indisposition - that is a welcome development too.

PM Okay With LokPal Authority, But Overruled by 'Superiors'

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is on record as having said he is willing to accept the authority of the LokPal committee in investigating the Prime Minister's Office - however the ministers who supposedly report to him have decided against the views of their 'boss':




This is democracy? Looks like a Shadow Government to me.

These guys are appointees, nominally appointed by Manmohan, but yet they're overruling him, and telling him what he can do and what he can't do. That doesn't look anything like a normal democratic setup to me.

It looks as if real power is held elsewhere, and Manmohan is just a figurehead - a lapdog.

Real power is held elsewhere, so that it can be exercised without visibility or accountability.

The Congress Party is a State Within A State. Congress is the ISI of India.

India suffers from a lack of coordination among the political opposition, says an article. This is allowing the Congress to walk away with the elections.

The Crackdown

Regarding the brutal crackdown on Baba Ramdev and his supporters at the behest of Sonia Gandhi, it's so predictable to see the Congress suddenly calling him a "mask" for the RSS. You could be Sonia Gandhi's live-in giggolo and nobody will say a thing, but the moment she has a tiff with you, then you'll be called an RSS Pracharak. If BJP had been a political threat to the Congress during the 80s, then Operation Bluestar would have been called "Operation Stop RSS"

As an atheist and a rationalist, I don't really put any faith in holy men, but Ramdev was a pretty rich guy who could have gone on living a luxurious life without any problems, and yet he decided to take on the ruling powers-that-be over the vital all-concerning issue of corruption, which is to his credit.

The longer the Congress stays in power, the more addicted they become to all the bribes and jizya they collect, and the more desperate they become to retain power by all available means. India complains that Pakistan's ISI behaves like a "state within a state", but meanwhile in India it's the Congress Party which is the "state within a state". It's inevitable that these greedy crooks will eventually impose another Emergency, or a de facto One Party state.

The reason the Congress kleptocracy is so aggressively defending its black money is because this is its bread-and-butter and raison d'etre. Without black money, how can they twist the Indian democratic system towards their own selfish ends? Without that black money, then all their rats would desert their sinking ship.

Egyptians Protest Against Mubarak Govt

Massive protests are occurring in Egypt, with large numbers of people taking to streets to call for the ouster of the ruling Mubarak regime:



The US is curiously taking a slightly different line this time as compared to the past, calling for more political reform in Egypt.

It's clearly in the best interests of the Egyptian people and the region that the Mubarak govt go. Sure, the Israelis might be nervous about it, but in the long run they would benefit from the removal of a dictatorship which only motivates local fundamentalist groups to form against it.

Given recent sightings of Rahul-baba in the company of fellow crown prince Gamal Mubarak, I think the fewer despots that remain for Rahul to draw inspiration from the better.

Pak too gains a lot of mileage from the Arab dictatorships located in the Gulf and elsewhere. As we can see, it's not just been Egypt suffering protests in the aftermath of the collapse of Tunisia's strongman, but various other Gulf states including Jordan and others. Without Egypt nearby to support it, the handwriting would be on the wall for the Saudis. If the Middle Eastern dictatorships disappear, then Pakistan would have almost nobody left to lean on, apart from China. They would effectively be isolated.

Indebted Farmers Sell Wives

CNN reports on indebted Indian farmers selling their wives to pay their debts. So much for brand India.

While we might wish to dismiss any unfortunate incidents of this type as propaganda, the reality is that such feudal exploitation is a direct result of the agrarian economy. In the agrarian economy, land ownership is king. If you don't own land, then you get trod upon.

One of the advantages of an industrial economy is that factory workers can earn a higher wage without having to own the factory. And factories themselves don't take up as much land, which is itself a scarce commodity.

Without a transition to a more industrialized economy, India will always face class tensions between the landed and the landless, the haves and the have-nots. Additionally, I think that the collective farming or co-operative farming model might also help to buffer individual families against economic pressures. Better than having to sell your own wife.

Upping the Competition

India clearly needs to have a non-Leftist news network, otherwise all reporting will be spun to suit the needs of the Congress and the Left.

But I was also thinking that BJP need to demonstrate their ability to take democracy to a higher level, by staging public debates between rival candidates, for the public to enjoy. Public debates are a hallmark of true democracies, as exemplified by many Western countries.

The Congress is afraid of public debates, because their leaders are buffoons who received their jobs by hereditary succession, like a royal family. Sonia Gandhi can hardly speak any Indian language, and when she does so, she speaks very haltingly, like the tourist she is.

BJP should conduct vibrant public debates to show the country what real democratic debate and discussion are. By doing so, they can upstage anything the sheltered inbred Congressmen might hope to do. And if the sheltered Congress Party leaders continue to opt out of such debates, then they will ensure that they are eclipsed by those who are willing to partake in real democratic exchange.
