Congratulations Steve!

Yesterday we went to Steve's pinning ceremony, which is a celebration of moving from the Student Health Center (where he treated other students) to the Outpatient Clinic (where he gets to treat the general public). He has worked really hard to get to this point, and I'm very proud of him, and I know he is thrilled to really start applying all of the things he's been learning and become better prepared to start his own practice. There are only twelve people in his quarter which is a very small group, so hopefully he will have more opportunities. Congratulations Steve! I love you!

A Day in the Life of Ethan

I just thought it would be funny to take you through some of the things that Ethan does to occupy his time during the day, via pictures and videos...

Playing in his closet.

Getting into things that he shouldn't ;D Good blackmail for when he's a teenager.

Sitting on his chair and thinking about drawing on his etch-a-sketch.
Hanging out in the pile of books that he pulled off of the shelf.

Trying to be like his dad on the computer

Playing his new favorite game... it's kind of like peek-a-boo, but not.

More about Christmas Break

We had a wonderful time, we got to go to my family's house for a week and Steve's for a week. We drove out there, and the weather was actually great considering the season, and we had great weather for the trip back too. We spent most of our time visiting with family, and the other part of our time we spent in the snow. One of the things I hate most about Portland is the winter season, rain is so dreary... it's got nothing on snow. I have only a few requirements about where we live in the future and one of them is that we get all four seasons. Ethan had a good time playing with his cousins at my house and a great time being played with by his aunts at Steve's house. (He is the only grand baby). We had a wonderful Christmas, I got new pots and pans (yeah!) and Steve got a new backpacking backpack, and a new processor. We got MANY MANY other things, it was very tricky to get it all into the car, and we are grateful for all the gifts we got. I am very excited to give scrapbooking a try with all of my new scrapbooking gadgets. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas too! Let us know how it went ;)

Grandma's Funeral

I miss my Grandma very much. We were very blessed that she wrote most of her history and Grandpa gave a copy to all of the grandkids, I just finished reading it, she was an amazing woman, and I wish she had written more! I hope that I can be more like her. On a happier note, it was really great to see family that I hadn't seen in a long time, and nice to be together.

Ethan's pre-Birthday Party

Ethan turned one year old! we had to celebrate early so that Steve could celebrate with us. My Grandma Warnick passed away after a long battle with Parkinsons and the funeral was on the same day as Ethan's birthday. Steve wasn't able to come with us because of finals so we celebrated with him and then we celebrated with everone else after the funeral. Here are some pictures from the pre-birthday bash.
