Saturday Funday?

A little over a week ago I fell skiing.
Hard.
Knocked myself out and did some damage to my shoulder.
Can you see where my other ski is here in this photo?
That is how far I flew!

It was not fun.
It also created a little bit of fear in me that didn't exist before the fall.
However we got about 20in of snow in a little over nightfall and I couldn't just sit and watch it fall without playing in it anymore.

We (myself, Jordy, Fordo, and K-Dawg) decided to make a day out of it and get some laps in nerves or not! I haven't been that scared going out and getting back on the horse over anything ever before. Luckily I have some patient friends and we made a good day of it.

To top off the day skiing we all decided to have a little bit of a night on the town together!
The greatest thing about our way out was I got a text from Brazier and got to introduce him to Jordy and friends while getting a huge hug over and over in the process!

I also got to take some sweet photos with K-Dawg that we can put in our ever growing album of "funny moment jpegs!"

Very rarely do Jordy and I have Saturday Funday... but this week it seemed to work out that way and I was perfectly ok with that!

France and Abma... Without Me.

The past week has been pretty awesome!
Today I am on my couch doing this.

Mostly because while Jordy is in France sending me photos like these...

I have been doing this...

AND a bit of work here and there! ;)

Right before Jordy left he handed me a pair of skis that I have not been able to get myself off of. A month ago if someone were to tell me that I would have 30 days of skiing under my belt and that I would be in love with it I would of laughed at them! Today I had to take a day off. My legs have threatened to detach themselves if I didn't do so.

The only problem is that I am one day further away from being able to ski with this guy.
Who, since this day, I have had a slight crush on.
Oddly enough he just happens to be on the Salomon side of things.
Therefore, when Jordy sent me a text asking me if I could "guess who he had lunch with" I didn't even need to reply.
Three seconds later I got this photo, yes from France again.

Rough right?

A Little Bit of Randomness.

First.
I would like to start this blog post by saying this:
If you end a relationship via text message you are acting to childish to have a relationship in the first place and MAYBE this is one of the many reasons the relationship didn't work or I kept feeling distant or not as interested....
Just a little FYI!

Now that I got that off my chest...

So last night as I lay here resting I was thinking about the last week with Brad-O and all the fun we had.
In doing so I remembered something.
He took pictures.
With my camera.
Oooh what fun!

This is what I found!

First: Me post op! Not bad uh? I loved those pj's untill
the tie broke and I had to take them back and get different ones. Sad.
Beautiful Francesca.
She came to visit.
Twice.
And brought food and homemade jam.
Love her.
I need to see her way more often!
One of the many acrobatic positions of how Waylon sleeps!
It is hysterical!
Taking a brake while Candice was fixing my hair... long story...
Getting back to business.
Candice is a miracle worker!
This was mid way though fixing my hair!
(not the most attractive picture.. but it is funny)
How cute are these two? Brad's nephew and best friend's son.
Levi and Aiden.
Levi is Brad's good friend from high school and his son is who is adorable.
Seriously.
Tate. Brad's nephew.
Cutest little boy ever.
Day 5!
See the rice bag on my chest?
Yeah. Brad made it.
Like I said he is a rockstar!
I had mentioned (in the last post) that Brad and I made some blankets for my mom's boyfriend's little girls.
Here is one of them in her room.
I hung snowflakes yesterday all over her ceiling... my mom wanted to surprise her...
She is 8 and without knowing about the snowflakes Brad and I designed the snowflake on her blanket!
How magical!!!
We also designed this tree on the other one!
So cool I thought!
My mom loved them.
I now on the other hand hate buttons.
Look what arrived for me yesterday?
From this guy!
He sent it to me all the way from Texas!
This is most definitely one of the best things anyone has ever done for me.
Needless to say it has been a whirlwind of the past few weeks and I have had so many people whom I love do so many sweet little things for me.
When you are down and out and people,
especially people close to me.
do so much it really pushes
home what the holidays are really about.

Hope your holidays are treating you as well as mine are!

US Ski Team?

This is the first attempt at a movie I have ever made.
(It is a teeny bit long... sorry;)
Please excuse how is looks out of focus a little way in...
Jake and the camera were having a disagreement!

Also
he was suppose to be in the credits but who the heck knows what happened?!?!
P.S. Believe me there will be a longer post about this! ;)

Perfect Patrice.

Meet Patrice.... and Jason.

They made my Friday night wonderful.
Patrice and I have been acquaintances for years.
(Yay! Provo and Santa B)
Oddly enough,
until this year we never spent time just the two of us.
Now,
She is my perfect Utah friend.
She gets me.
She accepts me.
She shops with me.
She makes me laugh.
And she invites me to Friday night bonfires...
So I get to sit there and watch him look at her like this!

Thank You Patrice for being my Perfect Utah Friend.
I sure know I needed you!

Saucer Girl?

Fair warning the background on this post is for those of you in Phoenix and outside of the ski industry that have no clue who Shane McConkey was.
Remember this post?

Background.
He was a MAJOR pioneer of skiing.
He was out of control.
Had balls of steel.
Flew off of cliffs.
And could ski anything.

Then in March of this last year while filming for the new MSP movie In Deep,
Shane's parachute didn't open.
That day was a day that the skiing community was rocked.

He is in our hearts and will always be remembered.

Go See It! It will blow your mind!

Moving on.
Shane had an alter ego who was named "Saucer Boy."

As you can see he was somewhat hysterical!

Well, for the new MSP Premier I had read that if you dress up like Saucer Boy you could win a prize!
HELLO!
Yes, Prize for me thank you.
I decided I would try to scrounge up something and win something as well.
And guess what?
I DID!

As a matter of fact I was the only person at the Salt Lake Premier to do so!
(Not to mention it was kind of a shabby costume.. not my best work)
I got to go on stage, have a room full of people cheer for me, and accept a hug from very cute skier (sorry jake) (who also happened to have the most amazing calves)
and win a Da Kine Pack!

So for everyone out there go check out "In Deep,"
May our heart and prayers still lie with Shane's Family,
and at the begining of this winter let's all continue to
PRAY FOR SNOW!

Silence.

Today has been so quiet.
Everyone has gone home.
Jake is at work.
It is a chilling 35 degrees out.
And the snow is falling.
To me, there is nothing that makes it more quiet than snow falling.

Funny how things go from loud, crazy, and insane, to very clam, collected, and serene.
I wish everyone was able to have the view I have from my living room window.
Everyday I gaze out at a panoramic of three huge ski resorts and their ski runs.
This morning it made my heart leap for joy and the season is drawing nearer... and then I had this thought.

So... being a part of a culture that gets married and has children very young, most days I ask myself, "What have I done wrong?"
Most days that is.
NOT TODAY.
Today I was grateful that I am pretty much the last of my group of girl friends to have found their soul mate and reproduced 2 or 3 rug rats.
Why? You ask.
Because in 52 days from now I will get to do whatever I want.
This includes putting on my thermals,
zipping up my jacket,
and strapping my board to my feet.

While in the meantime not having to deal with childcare, or babies screaming, or a husband nagging.

The only thing I will hear is the complete silence of the snow.

I understand this post may be a bit selfish sounding...
But today that is ok.

Today it is quiet,
and my friends are gone.
So today I will bask in the glory of what is to come.

Even those days that I might decide to stick two boards on my feet instead of just one...
