Christmas tree

The tree went up the day after Thanksgiving.
We ate T-giving leftovers and some yummy treats.
We sang songs and listened to music.

The girl got to put the star up.

The holidays really are 'something else' with kiddos around.

Magic.

Saturday Jog

Aaron is really good about taking the kids on jogs when he has time... mostly on Saturdays and sometimes (rarely) if he comes home and there is still light outside! Here are my cute peeps on their way out for a jog...

:)

First Sucker

November 1o, 2011

He had been reaching for a sucker for a few days (they are in a jar on the kitchen counter) and being fussy about it. I gave in while I was trying to get dinner ready (timing was impeccable- eeek!). He pretty much loved it- not that you can tell by any of his expressions.  He probably licked the sucker about ten to fifteen times, got all sticky and he was all done.  His dad was proud (proud that he was done so soon). :)

Artist

I love watching Aubrie draw/paint/color. She takes so much pride in what she is doing and LOVES it. She is very creative and loves everything crafty.

Laying Around

Luke cracks me up pretty much all the time.
This particular instance (I didn't catch him in time to get a perfect shot of it, so this will have to do) he just laid himself right down in the beanbag like some old couch potato and looked around... it lasted all of 30 seconds before something presumably great caught his attention and he was off to do more important business.

 He is getting so big!

My sweet girl. There is nothing like the peacefulness of a sweet sleeping child.

1st Haircut

Luke got his 1st official haircut on November 3rd.  Aaron took the clippers to his head and took off the long uneven baby hair- Hallelujah! He looks so handsome and so BIG! I love
this little stud!

Halloween

For Halloween we went trick or treating on Waterview, just like last year. It was fun because there were tons of people trick or treating so it wasn't scary for the kids at all.  They just saw the other people right in front of them and copied what they did.
Aubrie was really into it this year.  She was very good about saying, "Trick or Treat" and always said "Thank you!"
This was Luke's 2nd Halloween so he was still quite the amateur, but had fun nonetheless!

These were taken right after the pumpkin was carved...

Where's Luke?!

Peek a Boo!!

Bone Jammies on a late night walk .

Ready to trick or treat.

Aubrie already decided that Luke will be a pumpkin next year (he will NOT!) and she will be a fairy princess (not just a fairy and not just a princess)... or maybe a pumpkin again! :)

Aubrie's Class Party

Aubrie's class had a halloween party last Thursday, October 27th.
We had so much fun preparing treats for her classmates the day before the party.
Aubrie helped make ghost lollipops and did almost all of the mummy juice boxes by herself.  I tore the strips of duct tape and she put them on the boxes... I hot glued the googly eyes.
We also made a goodie bag for each of the students in the class.  They each got bubbles, a mini pumpkin basket, candy, Halloween bracelets and little sticker boxes.  Aubrie could hardly wait for Thursday.

They kids came to school in their costumes and did their normal routine from 9 to 9:30am (circle time).  Then they went upstairs to do some Halloween activity (too cold to play outside) and when they came back to the classroom we had set it up for snack time and games.
One mom made the adorable sugar cookies.
Another mom made personalized cupcakes for each student.

Aubrie's cubbie. They made the cutest bats! I love her teachers!
I just had to take a picture of this so I would remember the students that were in her class!

First reaction upon coming back to class.
Aubrie sat at a table with all boys except for her and her friend Halleigh.  She made sure to sit in a spot with a pumpkin sugar cookie.  She is a little obsessed with pumpkin things.
After snacks it was time to go to Body Rhythmics for the costume parade.

Then they sang a couple of songs. Aubrie has a great memory and did a great job with the hand motions and the word. I loved seeing her with her class!

Then when we came back to class we had face painting, games (toss the pumpkin in the bucket), and crafts.
Luke is ready for preschool.  He was roaming all over the place having a good old time!

When we got home Aubrie showed Luke all the fun stuff she got at school and was so excited about her day.  She loved every minute of it.
I almost forgot... I read Five Little Pumpkins to her class at the very end of their little day... and I was nervous but fine just as I started to read.  It was a piece of cake.  The kids loved it and since they had been learning the words to it in Body Rhythmics some even said the words as I read.
Aubrie asked if I could come help with the Christmas party.  It was really sweet.
A mask that she made at the party.

Box fun.

This little box from Costco provided hours of entertainment for these little people.
I love them. I want them to stay this size forever.

Frustrating.

Why is it so hard to get a decent picture of my kids??

They are never both looking at the camera at the same time! At least they are cute! :)

Pumpkin Farm

October 17, 2011
I LOVE this time of year.
It was the perfect time for Grammie to be here. We visited this pumpkin farm last year, but when we got there the patch was closing up for the day.  We still went a week later with friends for the experience.  This year we made sure to go nice and early...

Grammie was such a trooper and fed the goats the food for the kids since they wouldn't go near them.  For the record I did feed them a cup too!

Aubrie held her nose the whole time we were by the goats.. she kept saying that it was "soooo stinky!"

Luke kept his distance but liked to look at them.

We went on our very own hayride.  We were the only ones on it which surprisingly made it more fun!!
Excuse my face! Ha!

Looking at the cute pigs.  They loved the pigs!! They were so cute.

Then it was time to pick out their pumpkins.

We had so much fun! It was a beautiful day but we knew it was time to leave when we started getting too hot.  No worries... as I type this post the Fall weather has arrived by now.
