Fall is here!

YALL!! this week is just a picture slideshow! Yay for you, yay for me ;) We love Sadie, so she is mostly all that we photograph, but I am looking to start a cooking chronicle here too because we have been making delicious foods like scratch pumpkin pie with gingerbread crust (peter roasted and pureed our own sugar pumpkins!), apple streusel pie, and Indian curries like chicken vindaloo and quorma!! I will teach you!
Here is Sadie lounging about like always (but not for long) in her first of fall clothes :) She has recently laughed for the first time (and many times after that), begun using her hands and realizing they are attached to her and therefore hers (YES! She loves this), rolled over and gotten angry that she can't move any further than that, scooted around in general and spun in circles on her back (not break dance style, just slowly because of her determination and fierce anger at not being able to do anything else), reached for mommy, begun pooping in cloth diapers (that is really more our achievement haha) and begun talking very animatedly to herself in her toy miror! We are so proud of her little self and love her fun personality. She is the cutest, right? I mean right!?

New Year Time! Maybe we'll blog.

Okay, so it has been awhile that I'm pretty sure I was required to be blogging that I have not been blogging at all. How long has bloggery been around anyway? I think a long time. I think a lot of years. Anyway, now that Petey and I have been married for almost a year and a freaking HALF or so, I have finally gotten myself to create a semblance of a blog of our own! Yes, it is here. This is the first post we will be putting out. Man. I gotta create some kind of story here, yes? Ooookayyyy.

So of course the holidays have been amazing, and other than fabulous lounging, eating, thrifting, card playing and celebrating various things, I think two pretty sweet things happened that merit a bit of a post. First, Peter did the coolest thing that nomads can do, which is to provide good transportation! In his words, he "resurrected" the Mighty Mighty Metro from the grave. I like his words; they're a little nutty, but quite accurate. I got out of school at a great time to go up to visit the family in Atlanta pretty early. We weren't sure that Peter would get leave for such a long holiday trip, so I bought meself a one-way ticket, while planning on driving home with him whenever necessary. It turned out last minute that he got the leave, but decided to use a few of those early days to just stay home and finally fix his miracle car. This car is awesome, and many of the people close to us know its story, but basically Peter spent a mere $400 on him approximately, what, five or six years ago, and he has lasted FOREVER! We thought he was dead due to a fender bender (a tiny one, which somehow TOTALED the car...obviously not our safest automotive choice) but lo and behold, Peter was able to fix it for a little over $600 (yes, more than the original price paid, but STILL!) and a mere 2.5 days of his time (literally though, probably 2.5 days in hours. So that's a lot). Thankfully, he is a very talented mechanic, among many other things, and we now have two cars to drive again. !
We have decided to recommit ourselves to having a blog! There are a lot of things to do to keep us busy, but we thought that because there are some people who love our little Sadie who don't get to see her every day (and night!) like we do, that we owed it to them to start blogging again. I don't necessarily have the right to say "again" about being a "blogger" because I only blogged once...but still. For this entry I have no theme or any particular ideas to share other than our little girly! Unless I begin to rekindle my old love of writing, Sadie will probably continue to be the theme...we'll see what happens ;) Either way, I love all you guys and stalk many of you on your blogs, so I thought we could keep in better contact if you had me to stalk too! So, here are a few little gems:
This one is Sadie doing 'tummy time' and showing us that her head really is much heavier than
                                                     anything else on her...LOVE THIS
Here is Sadie's cute little sneeze and squeak deal
Here she is shortly after waking up and getting dressed. She feels like sticking her butt out usually
                                                                  around this time haha
This is the 'milk coma' situation that we love so much. ADORABLE. Yes, I brag about my boo, sorry
I'm obsessed. We are proud of her for eating. The simple things, yall.
After our date and having her at a babysitter's...we missed her SO much! PS look how LONG she is!

Okay, so blogging was much more painless than I was anticipating so my goal is now EVERY week. Whoa, lofty I know. Anyway, loves until next time!

Happy Happy Times, and a FIRST blog post from me!

So of course the holidays have been amazing, and other than lounging, eating, thrifting, card playing and celebrating various things, I think two pretty sweet things happened that merit a bit of a post. First, in Peter’s words, he "resurrected" the Mighty Mighty Metro from the grave. It turned out that he got the leave we wanted, but decided to use a few of those early days to just stay home and finally fix his miracle car. This car is awesome, and many of the people close to us know its story, but basically Peter spent a mere $400 on it approximately, what, five or six years ago, and it has lasted FOREVER! We thought it was dead due to a fender bender (a tiny one, which somehow TOTALED the car...obviously not our safest automotive choice,) but lo and behold, Peter was able to fix it for a little over $600 (yes, more than the original price paid, but STILL! There was a lot that needed fixing) and a mere 2.5 days of his time (literally though. Probably 2.5 days in hours. So that's a lot.) Thankfully, he is a very talented mechanic, among many other things, and we now have two cars to drive again!
Gorgeous!
The other cool thing that happened during our fabulous break was that my mom hired me to cater my sister Rachel’s second wedding reception! Yessss. Score. Double score, since I love both cooking and my sister. I planned a really fun and delicious menu made up of a lot of different finger foods, or for the fancy people out there, hors d’œvres. Either for the fancy or the French. These included leek bacon and gruyere tarts, antipasto, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, stuffed mini peppers and mushrooms, three kinds of hummus, puff pastry-wrapped brie, bacon-wrapped tenderloin with blue cheese, tiramisu, cheesecakes, BTS cake, macarons and a fruity grenadine punch. These foods were awesome, but the ordeal of planning, purchasing and cooking everything from scratch was quite challenging. Still, it was very fun and satisfying with the help of lots of cool people.

We have had a fabulous vacation with our whole family (a bit of a rarity) for both Thanksgiving and now Christmas. We got some really needed R&R, and both Peter and I were able to keep up on our “healthy lifestyle” as much as humanly possible too. In other words, in the two weeks, we went running at least three times!!! At least we did something I guess JWe hope that everyone had an equally awesome Christmas/holiday and that you’re enjoying your return to normal life. We definitely are. I somehow caught the “spring cleaning” bug early and have been running around the house getting rid of/organizing everything. This bug is necessary for me, since I don’t catch it often enough. Anyways, we love you all, and hope to see so many of you in 2012!!! It’s worth hoping for, at least.
Bisous/Kisses!!
