NERD

So my coworker friend Tricia sent this to me today. It may have described me a little bit.... hahaha! I am more of a math nerd than anything though.
Gotta love it!

Can't Wait...

So, I really hope that the world does not end in December like the Mayan calendar says it will because I really really REALLY want to see this movie :)

In other news...

I am not very good at blogging, as you may have noticed. I feel that I should update everyone on my life, but sometimes my life seems ordinary and nothing spectacular. I get up everyday and go to work. I come home, eat dinner and then usually rush off to some church activity or event. I don't really have much time to sit down and blog, nor do I have much to sit down and blog about. Nevertheless, here I am about to spout off some useless info about my life:

I am still working at Xango as a staff accountant. I have been there a little over a year and a half. I get along with my coworkers and I really have no qualms about the job... except that it is work and EVERYONE dislikes work, right? ;)

I am currently the music chair in my ward and I am in charge of making sure that we have music for sacrament meeting. This includes the having someone to lead the music and play the piano or organ. It is a big deal especially when there isn't anyone called to be a chorister and I have to ask someone new each week. I never thought I would say this, but I almost miss Becky Bailey who used to do it every. single. week. until she 'graduated' from the singles ward (or is it flunking out if you are forced to leave the ward due to your age?) I also have to make sure that we have a ward choir, so I called a choir director and then do my darndest to support her and attend choir practice :)

I am actively involved in my singles ward here in Lehi. We have a good time... usually. Last week we went tubing with the stake up at soldiers hollow and it was SO fun! A lot of the activities for February have been revolving around love and dating (It's like they are trying to say something, but I don't quite know what). We recently combined with another singles ward for a night of speed dating. That was... for lack of a better word... interesting (hence why I said we USUALLY have a good time). Let's just say that suddenly the weirdos in our ward looked pretty eligible and date-worthy!! You know it was bad when you can't wait to go talk to the guy that talks your ear off about useless mumbo jumbo that you normally don't understand, or the guy that creeps all of the girls out. It was pretty bad! I did overhear someone from the other ward comment on how our ward all seems to be good friends with each other. Go us!! I am glad that we are all friends, because otherwise it would be hard to go to the activities.

My car is still pretty awesome! I love that it is so roomy and spacious! It was nice to upgrade to something other than the little honda that I drove around that had no AC, a broken door handle, and the only temperature control that would work was full heat, full blast. To say that I am movin on up is an understatement. Yesterday I walked out to my car after work to find that a bird had left me something lovely on my car. I didn't get upset or disgusted.. I am just grateful that it was on my car and not me. For those of you that don't know, I have been pooped on by too many birds in my life. I tend to duck and cover any time there are birds flying above me, just in case.

Anyway, I hope that happiness is abounding in your lives. "Regardless of what you do or don’t have in this life, your deepest, most lasting happiness will come from knowing God’s plan and following it."

Take care and watch out for birds! :)

"SPOOKTOBER" Highlights

I feel like this month has flown by. I love this time of year. I love the changing of the leaves, the crisp, clean air, and the traditions of Chili and hot donuts for Halloween. HOWEVER, I do not, I repeat, DO NOT like scary things. So rather than have a 'Halloween' party, my friend and I decided to have a fall-themed party. I decided that we would carve pumpkins and eat soup in pumpkin soup bowls and have homemade rootbeer. I may have bitten of more than I could chew with that party. I decided that I was going to be super 'domesticated' and make the soups from scratch. I made two different soups: a creamy chicken noodle and homemade creamy tomato bisque(yes, I said bisque! HA!). SO, I spent ALL DAY slaving in the kitchen for one meal. Perhaps deep down inside, I was hoping that one of the guys that showed up to the party would taste the delectable food that I had prepared and drop to his knee to propose right then and there. Needless to say, that did not happen. NOT EVEN CLOSE!! HA HA!! I wish that I had taken pictures of all of my AMAZING food, but I was too busy to do it.
On top of that, I also baked a pumpkin cake with a carmel apple cider sauce to take to our ward's pumpkin-themed munch and mingle. It was so tasty that there was barely any left, DARN IT! I did have one person tell me that I should make their birthday cake... It's just too bad that their birthday isn't until JUNE!
Besides cooking up a storm, I have been going to all of the ward/stake activities. We had a stake Halloween dance on friday the 21st. I had tons of fun with my friends and even ran into my co-worker Aubrey. We had a blast dancing the night away. We topped off the evening with IHOP, where I ordered pumpkin pancakes and since they forgot my order I got like triple the amount of pancakes than I ordered, and they were DELISH!
Last Thursday we had a ward Halloween party where we were entertained with games, dancing, and singing. It was fun!
On Friday my friend Megan convinced me to go with her and a small group to the Haunted Forest. I absolutley HATE scary things and being scared. I refuse to watch scary movies that most people deem as 'classics'. I usually tell all my friends never, ever, ever, ever, ever, will I pay to scare myself!! BUT I went anyway. I called my sister Staesha to ask just how scary it would be... She assured me that I would be fine, and I made sure that there would be no disgusting things (AKA vomit). I went, and I SURVIVED!! And it was kind of funny to watch everyone else run for their lives when the chainsaw man came :) Good times!

Yesterday, for work, I wore the same costume that I wore to all of the other Halloween activities... which was my black dress with my mom's pink witch hat and a pink necklace. One of my co-workers told me that even though she has seen many witches, I was a really cute witch. :) It made my day!
And to end the month right, I went over Grandpa Tuckett's house with my parents to have some chili and donuts. Then I went over to Heather's house to watch the Audrey Hepburn movie Wait Until Dark. It is just the right kind of scary for me. It's suspenseful and only really has one scene that makes me jump. It did, however, make my friend jump so high that she nearly climbed over the couch. BEST. REACTION. EVER!!!

It has been a pretty great month :) Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!
