I felt mid-afternoon despair encroaching and wanted to stave it off, so I typed "something beautiful" into Google. Amid the song lyrics and music videos, I found this website for Virginia artist Charlie Brouwer, through a link to his installation piece "Something Beautiful Calls and We Rise":



I love this image, the ordered disorder, the starkness, the red tree, the bleached sky.
