Ghostly Photos

So, for Halloween I thought I would post a couple pictures K took while we were in Sacramento. He was playing with his new camera and had fun making these "ghostly" photos.

Another day at Lagoon

We went to Lagoon for our last time of the season...and boy was it crowded! I am real glad that some of us went last week, but wish that the others could have gone then as poor T only went on one ride! The lines were long. Our longest ride was for "Deseption" (a haunted house). We waited close to two hours and it scared T to tears so it sure wasn't worth it. She didn't think she would get scared and wanted to try it out. Next time, we will now not to take her through one!

Here is L---she did not go with the rest of the family. She had homework and refused to go...

FRIGHTMARES!

Over UEA we went to Lagoon Frightmares. It was supposed to be a "family activity" but K and T were quite sick and L didn't feel too perky so we went as a partial family. We hope to go again with everyone before the season ends on Nov. 1!
There were several workers wondering around in costumes...it really added to the atmosphere.

CD with a pyramid of jack-o-lanterns.

CE enjoys a caramel apple.

The boys obviously aren't thrilled with getting their picture taken while in line.
HOW EMBARRASSING!

J and CE coming off the Wild Mouse.

CD says to be sure to tell everybody that she went on the Wild Mouse for her first time!

J and CD on the Paratrooper...

CD had a great time being chased around by the guys with the Chain Saws

This is another character we came across...

Here is just a glimpse of a little show that was done.

Congrats!

T has been studying for her food handlers permit at school and her group went together to take the test. She told me before school that she wasn't going to go because she couldn't do it. I tried to assure her that the school wouldn't be taking her if they didn't think she was ready. Well, she surprized herself and passed the test on her first try. Congratulations!

Oh Bradley!

K built this Bradley with his dad back when he was 21. (When he was 16 he help build a red one just like it.) It has been garaged for several years needing some work. His dad has been fixing it back up and everyone is happy to have it running again. Last Sunday K took me for a ride. He said it brought back lots of memories as this is the car he drove while attending BYU.

In the driver's seat again!

J and his friend getting ready for a ride. J helped his Grandpa some getting the car in shape and he has his eye on it. Grandpa doesn't want to let it go, but if he ever does, J hopes he is first in line!

J rode in the back... One fix still needed is a new back window!

Grandpa J also gets a ride in the car...

Everyone enjoyed their Sunday drive!

Early Christmas

At a yard sale this past week we found a violin. Since we already have a few, I thought I would look at it, check out the price and possibly resale it. As soon as I opened the case, I knew it would not be to resale, but for Christmas for L. K still had hopes as a resale (not relizing how much L wanted and electric violin!) For L's sake, I won't share the price, but it was a dang good deal! Once K showed it to L, he also relized from her scream that he would not be selling the violin. She tried it out and it has a beautiful sound. Then I cruely took it way and told her she has to wait until Christmas so that she has something to look forward to receiving!

Old Couch, New Couch

Please ignore the laundry J pushed aside to nap, instead of folding it! But notice the old, hand-me-down couch. It was so worn out with holes in the cushions etc. I had been hitting garage sales all summer trying to find a nice couch and a good price. I found good prices for ugly couches and nice couches for more than I could afford. Until last weekend...

Here is T and JR resting on the "new" couch I found for $75.00. It is leather and real comfy!

Not quite the full couch, but it gives you an idea. Thanks to CE and J and his friends who helped haul out the old and bring in the new.

Piano Recital

CD had a recital today. She was so nervous hours beforehand. It was at the same time as CE's football game (see following blog) and so I missed the recital. K was the attending parent. It was going to be the other way around but K is quite sick with a cold/flu and I didn't want him out in the bad weather (refer to following blog). As soon as the game was over I quickly drove down the street (careful not to speed by the officer running radar) and hoped to catch CD at the recital while CE had his "after game" meeting with the coaches. I got to recital just as it was ending. I gave CD a hug and she told me all about it, then I rushed back to pick up CE. (I did arrange for a coach to take him home if I didn't make it back on time, but I did...)

I cropped these photos real nice on picnik.com but could figure out how to post those cropped and edited photos to the blog, so you just get the standard snapshot...
This is CD playing.

Now, this is great. I got to see her play via video, and if you would like to see her at her recital, just click on the video link below. (I think that is totally cool! It is my first time to use this feature!) Watch and enjoy! Then be sure to look at the following blog (or blogs) as I have posted 3 blogs now in the last 24 hours. That is for sure a record for me! CD---Great job! I wish I could have been with the rest of family at your recital. I am sure glad to be able to watch the video. You did great and really overcame your jitters! Love You!

Final game of the season

CE's final game was with the WFFL was today. We hoped his team would go all the way but we lost today 6-18 in the second game of the single-elimination playoffs. Here they are all lined up at the beginning for the National Anthem.

CE is number 61. The game started out in the rain and a bit of a wind.
It just got worse from there.

Here is CE blocking on offense. He played several positions today.
The coach told him after the game that he appreciated his willingness and skill to go in and play any position they needed him in.

Watching the game was a bit cold....but not as cold as on the field!

Notice the size of the team. CE is #61 and the third largest on his team. As you can
see from the photo, this Layton team had many that are much larger than CE.

They played hard, had a few bad breaks but none-the-less had a fantastic season, today being their first loss. CE, you did great and it was fun cheering for you on the side lines. I look forward to next season at the Jr. High. Congratulations on a job well done!

Happy Birthday CE

We fit in a quick celebration for CE's birthday this week. He had a busy day with football practice so we ended up having cake and ice-cream around 8:30pm--better late than never!
L took my photos for me.
Blowing out the candles....
CE and J always do silly dances while we sing "Happy Birthday". I must admit though, CE was much tamer in his dancing this year. Possibly he because he is older? Probably more that he was tired from practice.

Age hasn't effected J much...

CD made a card for CE including a song that she wrote and she sang the song for him. "Take me out to the Football game..."

CE was happy with his gifts. He got football gloves and a under-helmet hoodie to help keep him warm during his play-off games. He will need it tomorrow as we are supposed to get snow.

I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM (and PIE!)

Before I start...WOW! My sister and brother-in-law gave us a computer that they did not have a need for and it works so much better than our old one! Between the change to high-speed and a computer that works, I downloaded the pictures instantly! (Our old computer rarely would read any memory card or USB)...Thanks J and V!
Last Saturday was a busy day with football, general conference, visiting with my brother and nephew from CA and picking up my dad from the airport. (Welcome back from China and Tibet!) Thank goodness for "On Demand" which comes with our cable...I was able to catch up on the parts of conference that I missed while K and the boys were at the Priesthood Session.
My brother-in-law brought his 12 year old from Vegas and my brother came from CA with his 12 year old and they attended the Priesthood Session at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. K took our 2 boys and their grandpa to the Stake Center for the broadcast and after met up with the others for pie and ice-cream. It was reported to me that everyone had a good time and it was nice to be together before all the family headed back home. Thanks for the visits!
I think the photos look like they were having fun!
