Spain Sum up

So I don't like blogging when you have to write a ton of stuff, because most of the time people just look at the pictures and scroll down. SO my blog will now just be pictures I take on trips, during the summer, or photo trips I take when I have the time. SO to sum up my trip to Spain, I will include the rest of the highlights (with an exception of the Basque Country...coming soon).

Enjoy!

I found out...

I just discovered my computer had more potential than I gave it credit for.

There's a photo editing program on here and I've been spending all my time with it. I'm the happiest kid ever right now.

Desde Cuenca hasta Valencia

IMG_4249
I am so far behind at updating this blog, so this may be quick:

One of our weekends here we went to La Ciudad Encantada (a hike that goes through rock formations shaped like animals and other figures), Cuenca (famous for Las Casas Colgadas), and Valencia- the California of Spain.

If you go to the post right before this one there's a link for a bunch of pictures from this trip. Pictures 1-2 are Ciudad Encantada, 3-15 Cuenca and 16-24 is Valencia.

Cuenca was by far and will be by far one of my most favorite places on this trip. The houses are built on the cliff's edge so they are like 6 story houses with incredible views. The alley ways are full of color and the apartments were painted with a weak paint so it gave it a very interesting washed out look. There were colorful narrow alleys and I couldn't get enough pictures. The entire city was just on a large slope.

We met up at the cathedral and as we waited this drunk guitarist played flamenco music. He looked like a mess with messy hair and would never finish a full song because he would start to drink from his 40oz. His little friend came over and helped sing from time to time, also with alcohol in hand. They both had raspy voices as they screamed and sung to Flamenco music, it was the COOLEST sounding music ever. Quick guitar you could clap your hands to while these two men sang their feelings through raspy voices.

We then drove until we reached Valencia. All 30 of us overwhelmed a public bus and hopped on to head downtown. It was funny to see the drivers face and our director pay for all of us to get on.

While in Valencia we saw the LLADRO headquarters. We saw the meticulous process the porcelain goes through as it's hand painted and pieced together, sometimes even finger by finger. Next time I see those porcelain sculptures, I will look at them different.

We went to the aquarium, the beach (saw way too much) and went to see some cathedrals. Valencia was a great place. Famous for their oranges, Horchata and Turron.
