Goodbye blog
It has become too complicated to keep up with my blog lately, so I am going to stop posting for now. With all of the great apps and technology out there I can do journaling with pictures right on my phone! I do love to post pictures of what we are doing so feel free to follow me on Instagram, emitchells02. Thanks!!

Father's Day
Father's Day was very low key this year. The kids really enjoyed buying Jeff his favorite things and making him special gifts. He works so hard to provide for us, is so much fun, a great example, and the kids adore him. They are lucky to have him as their Dad and I am one lucky lady as well! I didn't get a picture but he made us the most delicious baby back ribs for dinner. So thankful he's a great cook too! We love you Jeff and hope you had a great Father's Day. We are both very thankful for our own Dad's as well. They both have unique personalities and the kids love them so much. Jeff and I are so thankful for their examples, advice and the way they love our children! We hope they enjoyed their special day as well!
Emmett's 5th Birthday
I'm sure I will say this every year, but how is my baby 5??? For his birthday his cousin Lincoln gave him a giant donut! YUM!! Then he got to go out with Grandma Holding and Lincoln to jump and bounce and lunch. That was a pretty special treat! Since his birthday was on a Saturday Emmett was thrilled that Jeff was home all day, so he requested pancakes and eggs for breakfast. Then he got to open all of his presents. He got a new bat, ball, angry bird game, shooting thing, pop it game and a wii game. He also got some fun legos and chalk gun from Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell. He is one spoiled boy! For dinner he requested "basghetti and meatballs" with plain old vanilla ice cream. Both Grandparents came over to celebrate and he got his siblings to do what ever he wanted to all day. It was a great day for him! Emmett is our smiley boy and we just love him to death. So thankful he joined our family!
First boat trip
Sadly this year the weather hasn't been as nice on the weekends and we have been busy. It wasn't until June that we got to take the boat out for the first time this year. It was Belle's first time too and so far she seems to enjoy it! We also enjoyed some delicious foil dinners and hot dogs at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Followed by a nice dip in the hot tub! Love weekends like that!
Utah
This year was my sister's Golden Birthday, she turned 30 on May 30th!! My nephew Jayden was also getting baptized a week later. What else was there for us to do, but to be there to celebrate!! I pulled the kids out of school and my Mom and I drove to Utah! It took us 12 long hours, but we had the greatest week of fun! On Monday, Memorial Day, we celebrated Krista's birthday by hiking to the Mount Timpanogos Caves with her family and Kory's. Um WOW! It was a straight up hike but the cave was amazing! The next day we went swimming at the Legacy Center and enjoyed dinner at Uncle Kory's Pizza Pie Cafe! Our favorite place! While we were there we also went to the Mall, so Lillian could get her ears pierced. Then headed to the coolest store, Scheels, to ride the carousel inside. Of course it was blazing hot while we were there, so we also enjoyed a water balloon fight and a dip in the kiddy pool! Since we were so close we also stopped to see the new Provo City Center Temple. Absolutely beautiful!! Finally, on our last day we attended Jayden's baptism and had a BBQ/swim party at Melanie's Uncle's house. We sure crammed it all in in a week!
Tennis
This year was Alyssa's first attempt at tennis and she rocked it! It is a 7th and 8h grade combined team, so it was hard to get on varsity. The coach had her play doubles this year and after the first week on the JV 1 team her and her partner challenged the Varsity team and won!! They moved up to Varsity where they stayed the entire season! They were the only two 7th graders on the Varsity team. They only lost one match the entire season. It was so much fun watching her play. At the end of the year she was also awarded Athlete of the Season. Jeff and I got to go to the school to see her receive the award. We are very proud! She also made it into the National Junior Honor Society for another year of straight A's. You go Alyssa!!
The Piano Guys
For Christmas I got my Mom and I tickets to The Piano Guys. Unfortunately we had to wait until May 19th to actually go to it, but it was worth the wait!! I took her to Twigs for dinner, so she could experience for the first time the deliciousness and then we headed to the concert. They were AMAZING!! It was a wonderful night!!

Lucky Day
Every afternoon Emmett and I try to take Belle out for a walk. This week we had one lucky walk day! As we were walking across the street and over a storm drain area Emmett found some money. I was honestly shocked! He said wait Mom I see a dollar. Then when he handed it to me I said Emmett that's $20!! He was pretty excited. When I asked him what he wanted to do with his money he said get ice cream! So that's what we did. Emmett generously bought all of his siblings Baskin Robins ice cream! Definitely a night to remember!
Best Friends Forever!!
Yard work and gardening
Each year we've been able to do a little landscaping in the back yard, one corner at a time! Last year I did the brick edging, rock pathway and rocks instead of grass, but didn't finish around the trampoline. So my first project for the year was to remove a bunch of grass, finish the brick edging around the trampoline and add some rocks. Somewhere in the middle of all of this planter boxes were added to the project. Jeff spent a few hours building some raised garden boxes, so we could have a cute little garden. The boxes turned out great and the kids loved planting the garden. We planted blue berries, strawberries and hula berries (white strawberries that taste like pineapple). We also did a cucumber bush, beans, snap peas, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and carrots. We crammed a lot into those boxes!! Can't wait to see how they grow!
Pictures
Just a cute family picture after my Nephew's Baptism.
Emmett loves to pose for pictures!
This is Kaylee and her friend Alayna. Neither of the are in dance or gymnastics, but they decided to make up a dance for their class talent show. I commend them for their bravery! They were so cute and had lots of fun. Each kid in the class gave them a score and they won the top dance out of the 5th grade, so they were asked to perform it in front of the entire school. I hope that doesn't make them too nervous!
